Note
I’ve not watched the new episode but- corollary opinions here and now if you please- all the thoughts I wish to hear
Oh my gods, where do I start! /pos
First off, Frenchie is so insanely talented! Not just as a voice actor, but as a writer and sound designer
The overall sense of mystery has been palpable since day 1, and it's honestly one of my favorite things about the series
Everything feels so elaborately thought out and meticulously planned, which is impressive to me as someone who doesn't always have all my ducks in a row from the jump /lh
Do I love every character? Yes, absolutely. Would I go to bat for Margot above everyone else (except maybe Dinah)? Also yes
Follow-Up to the last point: I really do just adore Margot so much, which was a welcome surprise. I definitely plan to draw her design someday because how could I not!
I feel torn when I think about all the listeners because I enjoy them in different ways! Cricket has my heart because I gave her a design, Neighbor has my heart because they've been there from the start and had such good vibes with Randi, and don't even get me started on Hays (/pos)
In my definitely unbiased opinion, I think Avery and Margot have rivals to friends to maybe something more energy, whether the something more was in the past or not. (It's also just a funky headcanon to have /pos)
(Below the cut are some more spoiler leaning thoughts, up to but not involving Part I of the Season 2 Finale)
I need to know how Margot and Avery's "experiment" is going to play into the future. We now know it's possible for Dinah to "possess" someone so to speak, but what would that mean for the person she inhabits? How long could she stay? Would there be consequences on either end? The possibilities are endless!
My gut thinks that there's more to Carol than I'm aware of, but it's hard to specify what specifically. There are times where she seems scared/intimidated or unsure of the situations she finds herself in. (Not to mention Frenchie put out that casting call, which has my interest piqued)
I'm super curious as to how Randi and Neighbor being corollaries will come back into play. After all, Neighbor pointed out to Randi that maybe this job isn't actually a "good thing". We don't really know what's been going on since the memory wiping, so there's lots of room for shenanigans moving forward /pos
I fear for Dinah's safety and well-being. Not much else to it, I'm just scared for her /lh

Milt Buckner & Jo “The Tiger” Jones – Buck & Jo (Fremeaux & Associates)
Tumblr media
youtube
In early 1973 Jo Jones cut a pair of what he coined experimental records. Released the following year under the transparent title The Drums and visibly inspired by earlier instruction-geared efforts by New Orleans doyen Baby Dodds, these platters featured Jones behind his kit explicating the pedagogy of his instrument and colorfully reminiscing on the stylistic trademarks of his many peers. The albums were a modest hit for French producer Hugues Panassie and valuable addition to Jones’ legacy as a living pioneer of swing-oriented percussion. Buck & Jo is both immediate precursor and corollary to that edifying project as it teams Jones with organist Milt Buckner in a marathon series of duets recorded between May of 1971 and February of 1974. Freed from strictly commercial concerns by a pleased-as-punch Panassie, the pair tackles a marathon program of fifty-two performances over four discrete sessions and generously sequenced discs.
Jones temporarily trades in his customary honorific of “Papa” (originally adopted to differentiate him from fellow sticks-slinger Philly Joe Jones) for the more exotic sobriquet “Tiger.” He and Buckner had been collaborators as early as 1969 in the organist’s trio. Absent other instruments and embroiled in frequently dense tune-driven dialogues that typically range from three to six-minutes there’s little to no space for either man to coast. The battery of techniques and tricks that Jones catalogs on his solo records get ample space for application and elaboration. From crisp, dime-stopping press rolls to crackling snare shots to all kinds of ride cymbal accents, his sticks produce a panoply of time-keeping effects. Buckner is similarly wide-ranging on his double row of keys and associated pedals. The sheer variety of sounds and synergistic textures is extraordinary, particularly considering the daunting amount of time and space the two were conscripted to fill.
The program skews predictably to standards, but the duo threads in a decent share of creative originals as well. “Madeleine’s Garden” is an early corker in that latter regard with Buckner generating waves off humming chords against Jones malleted syncopations in a mélange at once bluesy and toe-tappingly funky. Jones’ tumbling snare rolls and ride cymbal sprays take the lead on the brisk “I Found a New Chapeau” with Buckner supplying corpulent fills amidst snatches of vocal encouragement. “Jo’s Brushes” is similarly on spec, a two-minutes-and-change frolic for Jones’ whirring whisks set to some beautifully deployed Zamboni-worthy bombast by Buckner. Miraculously, only a handful of pieces receive repeat renderings, among them “Am I Blue?,” “Dinah,” and the obligatory “Organ Grinder’s Swing.” Nearly four hours of pre-bop organ cum drums might appear unequivocal overkill, but it’s frankly remarkable how easy almost all of it goes down.

It’s here! I’m so excited to release this one!!
This episode works as a stand-alone sleep aid, although there are some BIG lore spoilers in here for anyone who wants to listen to the series so far. (Frankly, the title itself is a bit of a spoiler. Oop. Oh well.)
This also marks Corollary’s one month birthday! 🥳
youtube
If anybody cares about the Frenchie/Corollary origin story (which is coming up in a soon-to-be-released song), it goes a lil something like this: Once upon a time I started listening to ASMR roleplay videos and some were good and some were weird and some were meh and then I discovered Redacted and then I stopped knowing what to even call it because it seemed like the dude had created an entirely unique medium. So I joined the fandom, and...fast forward, I started writing musical fan art songs. (Very show-tuney, Disney-type stuff, even though the source content is...not that lol. Not usually, anyway.) But then I started to try my hand at making some fan audios (i.e. audio fics) as Milo's mom, Marie. And people seemed to like that. Meanwhile, I've had this other idea in my brain file for a long time that I thought would be a novel someday, but then I realized I had been building up this [Liam Neeson voice] particular set of skills and I went, "Hmm, what if I did it as an audio series instead?" And so I did. And I have no idea if it's gonna take off or not. But making it makes me happy. And the dozen or so people who seem to be listening appear to like it, so... Anyway, if you've been listening since the beginning, thanks! If you've subscribed, double thanks! If you've reblogged, triple thanks! If you're seeing this because of a Blaze campaign, hi! I'm Frenchie! You've reached the end of the post. Here's a cookie 🍪 and HoHoHellmo while I'm at it:
