Indiegogo CES 2018 Activation
For 50 years, CES, the largest trade show focused on consumer technologies, has gathered the world’s business leaders, innovators, forward thinkers and technological pioneers all in one location. This year, CES ’18 welcomed over 170k attendees from over 150+ countries all over the world. Over 7,000+ media outlets and 3,900+ exhibiting companies were present at the conference as well.

Rubik partnered with Indiegogo and their two business partners, Arrow Electronics and Ingram Micro, to bring three show-stopping booths called the “Indiegogo Zone” to the Sands Expo Convention Center. The Zone provided space for multiple activations. Indiegogo campaigners shared the stories behind their innovations while the Indiegogo Enterprise team welcomed tours and held client meetings. Ingram Micro met with qualified leads in their lounge space while Arrow Electronics showcased their engineers, interactive mural display, and created excitement by handing out free Arudino Uno Rev3s to attendees.

Indiegogo
Indiegogo clearly stood out from the rest of the exhibitors in the Sands not only from the sheer magnitude of the booth and the brand-centric, eye-catching GoGenta color but also because of the friendly and welcoming approach that allowed attendees to feel invited to stop by and mingle with the staff. The open concept space allowed visitors to walk around and learn about the featured campaigner products that were beautifully displayed in several of the five gates that encompassed the space. These featured entrepreneurs used Indiegogo to raise funds for their projects and then went on to successfully launch their products in stores nationwide.

A pop-up meeting room adjacent to the main booth created a private space for Indiegogo investors, inventors and executives to host meetings. The meeting room itself was adorned with iconic and social media worthy GoGo chairs where guests could rest their feet and relax. The chairs were back by popular demand for the second year in a row since they were such a hit last year as well!

Arrow Electronics
The core of the Arrow booth was a large cube that hosted an interactive touch-sensitive wall that told the story of Arrow and Indiegogo’s groundbreaking partnership and how they help entrepreneurs succeed from ideation to production. The wall was powered by 3D projection and Arduinos and multiple spots used conductive paint which reacted when touched and prompted the projectors to change images and information right before attendees’ eyes.

Aside from the cube, the Arrow team did an amazing job connecting with guests and encouraging innovation by giving out free Arduino Uno Rev3s, hosting one-on-one engineering consultations and demonstrating campaigner products with Arrow certified technology.

Ingram Micro
Ingram Micro Commerce offers a global network of fulfillment centers that leverage cost-cutting technology saving entrepreneurs and their backers time and money. In their sleek, all-white lounge, which was adjacent to the main Indiegogo booth, entrepreneurs were able to meet with experts who could answer all of their shipping, handling, and distribution questions. The space offered the perfect setting for collaboration and also gave CES attendees a safe haven to stop and take a break as they toured through the conference space.

At one point during the conference, Indiegogo took over the Ingram Micro lounge to film a pitch competition entitled “The Go Pitch Panel” with the Home Shopping Network. Enthusiastic entrepreneurs conducted demonstrations of their products in front of a panel of judges and curious bystanders. Once each entrepreneur completed their pitch, they were interviewed so that their product could also be featured on the Home Shopping Network.

The Indiegogo Zone had foot traffic from over 10,000 CES attendees and was a huge success for all three teams and the campaigners alike.
