I was tagged by S to write a list of my 15 favorite songs. I loved listening to them and loving them once more ^

Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell: Love Actually is my favorite film, (however, not my favorite romantic comedy, that is saved for The Wedding Planner) and Emma Thompson’a character introduced me to Joni Mitchell in mmm 2008?ish and I’ve loved her since.

Glitter and Gold by Barns Courtney: I heard this song for the first time in 2016 when I was working part-time at Wingstop, and I liked it well enough. I was getting bad again, falling off the bed because of all the nightmares, fogginess in my head the next day, memory issues, not leaving bed for anything etc. Then I saw the MARVEL fanvid featuring this song, and I could feel better for a time.

Simple Parts by Sick of Sarah: I heard this band in 2010, because of Frostwire! I love love loved every single song I heard from them, and these gals are so talented!

Coming Up Roses by Keira Knightley: this is off the Begin Again soundtrack, and she is probably my favorite actress, so when I saw this movie at Marie’s house in 2015, I immediately bought the soundtrack. I was having a pretty tough time getting to sleep and waking up etc, and this song especially out of the five she sang, really helped.

Work Song by Hozier: 2016 is when I first heard Jackie and Wilson, but I didn’t really pay attention to Hozier until this year. Now I can’t get enough :p

I Don’t Care by Fall Out Boy: my favorite song in mm 2011? from them was This Ain’t A Scene, it’s an Arms Race! But then I heard this song and it absolutely blew me away! So much nonchalance and drama and narcissim, Lordy.

Steady As She Goes by the Raconteurs: I want to say I first heard this song around 2013ish, I was 16 years old, freshly graduated from high school, newly engaged and feelining decidedly optimistic. I stand by that optimism, regardless of how things appear to have turned out ;p

Qu’est Ce Que J’ai Fait by Anthony Stewart Head: ahhh Giles my lamb, when I finished Buffy the Vampire Slayer in early 2015, I found out the Anthony Stewart Head could sing as well as act and be adorable, so here we are now, nearly three years later <33

Hurt Like Hell by the Heydaze: I heard this song this summer, on the Adult Alternative music station on mm Dish? DirectTV? At Connor’s house and I LOVE it.

I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston: I was young when I watched the film, but old enough to kind of follow along. I want to say, sevenish so, 2003? Ahem, the Bodyguard is probably directly responsible for some of my favorite tropes in romance and drama + that ending ohmigod. Serious, protective person and easygoing, beloved person falling hard and fast for one another, but in the end it doesn’t work out. However, they’ll always love each other. ~kyaa

Everybody’s Fool by Evanescence: before I ever really understood media, photoshop, celebrities, unrealistic beauty standards etc. I understood “perfect by nature, icons of self-indulgence, just what we all need more lies about a world that never was, and never will be.” <333 thanks Amy Lee. I heard this song around the same time as I heard Rockstar by Nickelback and Scars by Papa Roach so around 2003?

I Don’t Love You by My Chemical Romance: this song is so relatable. One day in January 2015, about a week after I’d miscarried, I woke up and realized that I no longer loved my fiancé and wanted nothing more to do with him. I was depressed, angry, hurting, etc and “get out, better get out while you can. When you go, would you have the guts to say, I don’t love you like I loved you yesterday.” Well, it just cleaved me.

Oops! I Did It Again by Britney Spears: Britney Spears (other than Selena and George Strait) is someone that I’ve pretty much have loved forever. I want to say maybe 2003ish is when I had a tamagotchi looking thing but Britney, it would play all of her songs. Then watching the music video—iconic.

I Want It That Way by the Backstreet Boys: ahhhhh!! I remember being dropped off at elementary school around second grade, listening to Millenium on my sister’s CD player ohmigod I was obsessed. Brian Littrel was my favorite Backstreet Boy and I loved watching them on TV.

Broken by Robert Downey Jr: honestly, after watching Sherlock Holmes and Iron Man, I adored him. It’s the same with Anthony Stewart Head, I found out he could sing and then searched for his album. (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

These are my favorite songs from bands other than my all-time favorites: Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, Papa Roach, Panic! at the Disco, George Strait, Selena Quintanilla Perez, Joe Nichols, the Hoosiers, or Adam Lambert.
