“[…] Craig Weir, 21, was asked by Queen guitarist Brian May to start the band's encore rendition of We Will Rock You on the bagpipes as a surprise for the audience on the Scottish leg of their world tour.

Mr May chose the young piper after hearing about how he and his band Gleadhraich promote the bagpipes to young people by using them on arrangements of classic rock songs as well as their own rock-based tunes.

The performance took place at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow last night.

Mr Weir said: "The opportunity to stand on stage and play with Brian May, Roger Taylor and Adam Lambert was absolutely incredible, one of the best moments of my life. I got such an adrenaline buzz from it.

‘I have to thank Brian May for such an incredible opportunity. He seemed really pleased with me and the first thing he did when he got off-stage was give me a big hug.

‘When I got an email from Brian May asking me to play with them I thought it was a wind-up.

‘But it soon became clear it really was him and he really was asking me to play with them at their Scots show.

‘When I was confirmed for the gig I instantly got the shakes. I couldn't believe it. To say I've stood on stage and played with Queen is more than a little ridiculous!’”

One of my favourite things to do is make profiles for my characters (And others) and Harry Potter characters is one of my favourites to do. Here’s Harry’s OC sister from a world where Tom Riddle was raised by his cold father and loving Step-Mother Cecilia, becoming the Minister for Magic and marrying Myrtle Warren of all people. ESPN, Adam Schefter And The Brady Retirement Gamble

It wasn’t even 6 months ago that reports emerged regarding ESPN’s own Adam Schefter and his ties to the Washington Football Team.

Late last year, leaked emails that were being investigated due to former cheerleaders of the Washington Football Team filing a lawsuit against the NFL franchise citing a culture of sexual harassment and misconduct.

In the fallout of the story of the 650000 leaked emails, it was revealed that Adam Schefter had an uncomfortably close relationship with former vice president of the Washington Football Team, Bruce Allen, to the extent to which Schefter would apparently allow Allen to check and edit his stories before publication.

Speculation around Tom Brady’s plans regarding football has been rampant since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Los Angeles Rams in last week’s NFL Divisional Round.

Adam Schefter once again appears to be first with the scoop and according to him, Tom Brady plans to officially retire within the next few days and this story has caught fire and now multiple sports media “analysts” and outlets have leaned in to it including Skip Bayless, Colin Cowherd and even the NFL’s own Youtube channel has a video announcing Brady’s retirement.

The story has spread so far that CNN have reported that Tom Brady is retiring.

However it appears that these reports are being contradicted firstly by Tom Brady’s father, who seems to be the main source for news anytime there is some speculation around Tom Brady’s career.

Tom Brady Sr, has outright rubbished the reports that his son intends to retire.

ESPN’s Ian Rapoport appears to have done some damage control on his twitter where he explains that the apparent pushback from Brady’s inner circle appears to be based on the timing of the report. 

Problem is Rapoport’s tweet also states that Brady “does not intend to retire”.

The stakes are a little high here. 

If Brady retires, then fine, Schefter was right and he gets the props for being ahead of the story.

If Brady doesn’t retire, then Schefter starts to look less than credible once again.

Adam Schefter reminds me of Scott Templeton from Season 5 of the Wire.

Media people, musicians, gamblers and other types, can find themselves in a career lull and end up chasing the dragon if you will.

The musician chases making another hit song.

The gambler chases another big night at the craps table or the slot machine.

In season 5 of the Wire, Scott Templeton’s lack of desire to do the work of reporting leads him to write articles reporting news that either didn’t happen or details are fabricated.

Scott Templeton is chasing recognition.

it’s a guy looking for one big hit to get him out of career mediocrity and in Scott’s case, it works, because it just so happens that his employers share his ambition and most importantly, his dishonesty.

You see what I’m getting at here?

This is the 2nd time in less than 6 months that Schefter’s credibility is called in to question for any reason.

ESPN have tried to cover themselves with Ian Rapoport essentially reporting the opposite of what Schefter reported, so no matter what happens, they can claim they can feel covered.

But Schefter, bro, this is the biggest professional gamble of his career.

The leaked e-mails back in October made it clear he is the trusted old boy in the media for a lot of NFL teams and executives. If he botches this it will bring in to question how credible he is, how honest he is and how trustworthy his sources are, if any. 

Time will tell but Schefter has somehow put himself in a situation where Tom Brady controls his professional destiny.

The Fall is a story about stories. It’s full of contradictions: a film made by a visionary director, Tarsem Singh, that tells a story about how no story is the product of just one teller. A story that doesn’t make logical, traditional sense, but a story that makes perfect, simple sense in what it says: you can never know how someone will respond to your stories, what you’ll ask of each other, what you’ll give. You can only control so much. The story never belongs only to you. No one but Singh (who went by simply “Tarsem” back then) could’ve made this movie, but it couldn’t have happened without the people who perform the story, the people who made it look and sound the way it does (especially cinematographer Colin Watkinson), and the people who understand it. It’s been ten years since The Fall was released in the U.S., and there’s been nothing like it.
