A mini refrence to 3DS cfw and preservation in March 2024, because the misinfo on twitter is insane. It's not dying, trust.
3DS Custom Firmware
The best guide is 3ds.hacks.guide. Follow it EXACTLY. They have mirrors to FBI and such. Depending on your firmware version, you can hack without a computer. I myself hacked my 2DS, using my phone and a microsd/sd adaptor, as for my firmware version, no computer program was required. Some firmware versions may still require a windows computer.
themeplaza.art is where most people get custom themes, each theme on themeplaza is manually reviewed and ensured to be non-malicious.
Preservation
Citra was removed officially, but there are mirrors. Such as this mirror for the mobile version, and this mirror for the windows version.
Keep in mind; emulation isn't illegal, pirating ROMs is. None of what I am putting here is illegal, Citra was only targetted for Yuzu, and using a paywall for extra updates.
Nintendo Network for 3DS shuts down soon, so I recommend setting up a Pretendo account. I did as well. All needed instructions to set that up is on the site. Pretendo also has a guide on how to help them back up the servers to high priority games like the Pokémon 3DS games, or Animal Crossing HHD. Pretendo is open source.

You know, it would certainly be a shame if people emailed Nintendo a lot of false leads on piracy and clogged their inbox, wouldn't it?
(Real talk: if you do this, don't use the email you use for your Nintendo account if you have one.)

Style Savvy Styling Star part 2
CONS part 2:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Melvin: the coward weaboo who say my fashion boutique as cosplay shop. I hate him so much. In the half end of Alina's story, he is so fvckin COWARD! And finally, I dress him up for self-confident apologizing Alina, and he still say NIN10 Pro as evil organization. Ah come on! In the SBI story arc, I dress him up again for encouraging Alina and then I'll forgive him.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
- Margot: Yolanda's greedy and over protective mother. I hate her so much, because she push down her daughter's career as singer for the sake of hotel business. Finally I forgive her since she made peace with Yolanda and invite Angelique Noir into hotel's concert. And in SBI story arc, I dress her up too 😊
Tumblr media
Score for Style Savvy Styling Star = 8/10
I cannot bored because this game so very delighted and enjoyable. This is my final SS from Styling Star ;)

Citra emulator: Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney trilogy
A hopefully comprehensive guide on all the malfunctions ive run into so far. Because honestly, ive recommended aa on citra to so many people, the least i can do is give yall a guide for when you run into problems.
Spoilers under the cut for aa1 (rise from the ashes mostly).
1. Ema's aluminum finger print powder (Rise from the ashes)
In the final case of the first game you meet the Skye sisters. Lana is the Chief Prosecutor and Ema is a high school student who wants to become a forensics scientist. In her guest to prove her sisters innocence Ema will employ a couple of tools like Luminol blood splatter detecting spray and finger print detecting powder.
How does the aluminum powder work? You click on a suspicious surface. Make sure to cover all of the fingerprint with white powder/pixels!
Tumblr media
And then what? This is an emulation of a Nintendo game. You are prompted to blow in your mic to blow off the powder and reveal the fingerprint. But well. You can't exactly do that now can you?
Tumblr media
How can you get around this?
Maybe if you have a mic you could connect it to your laptop/pc and blow there but i don't know if that would actually work since i don't have a mic and therefore can't give it a try. But theres a way to get around this obstacle! A way that took me like an hour and a lot of research in ace attorney and emulation related forums to find 😭.
You will have to go on the top left corner of your screen and open the configuration option. I think.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now as you can see my program is in greek which is not exactly making this easier to understand for the rest of you. But nonetheless we will persevere!
What you have to do is go Configuration -> sound -> microphone -> real device ??? It must say something like that. It might take you a little bit of trial and error but you can find it. Try a few of these choices and see which one works. This will make your laptop/pc pick up on the games music and use it to "blow away" the powder by itself. Problem solved <3
2. Playing connect the dots with Ema's name (Rise from the ashes again)
In the final day of the trial we have a piece of evidence that almost everyone hates: that goddamn jar. Aside from its ridiculous resemblance to that monstrosity the blue badger when you rotate it in a highly specific way, this jar holds yet another secret. And that secret is a name written in blood that seems to have been wiped off. We are asked to "connect the dots" to prove whose name is written there. Normally connecting the dots would make red lines appear on the jar that make up Ema's name but well. If this worked as intended i wouldn't be making this post now would i.
When playing in Citra the lines won't show up. Nevertheless, you can still beat this new obstacle: just connect the dots anyway. Be extra careful: you don't want to forget one of the smaller ones. If you connect them all and present the evidence in court the game will progress as it should. Personally, when i was playing i kept forgetting to connect the top right dot in M and got penalised a few times too many over it. I suggest starting from the bottom of E and progressing carefully from there.
Tumblr media
Ema's name wiped off the jar's surface.
Tumblr media
Ema's name after you've connected the dots or how it would look if citra hadn't messed that one little detail up.
Aaaand those are all the malfunctions i stumbled upon on aa1. Honestly, could be worse. And they were both on the same case too, so maybe there won't be any more trouble in the rest of the trilogy games. But if i find any more i will come back and update this post. It will probably take a while tho, im very slow when it comes to video games.

Aight i don't feel like directly responding to shit so im just gonna make this post n then hope people see it ig
My intention with the Citra post wasn't to "fearmonger", and no i didn't install it in the C: drive either. I had it on a seperate drive with no vital files on it, the only issue it caused was delete stuff i was working on. In retrospect i know i could have phrased my initial post a bit better but yeah. Citra is safe to use, and the issue is only with the crappy installer it uses. Though i am a bit paranoid about these sorts of things so that's why i was saying "don't use it". As long as you're not dumb (like i was when i installed it a year ago i guess), and make a seperate folder for Citra, its all fine. And yeah the reason i was surprised when it did what it did when i uninstalled, like a year after installing it was because i kinda expected it to behave like a normal program does, and i have used other emulators before and literally none of them did this.
As for it messing with your OS, thats something i saw in a reddit thread from 4 years ago so, yeah maybe i should not have included that, my bad.
But yeah general takeaway: Citra is safe to use, and safe to uninstall as long as you installed it in it's own folder, which you need to create before installing.
And hopefully i phrased myself a lil clearer this time (english is not my first language so sorry if its still a bit weird), though if theres still any confusion, i'd recommend asking around elsewhere, as i feel i have demonstrated it enough that im not the most qualified to talk about this stuff. And i genuinely apologize about the harm my last post may have caused, and hopefully the people who got scared by it will see some of the more helpful responses on that post, that clears things up better than i could.

Hm yes, the Joys of missing textures in emulation✨ Just some funny shots I caught while playing Kirby Planet Robobot for a friend. Tbh MK looks good with a dark purple warp star! It fits his edgy mysterious style.

”Let the rage consume you”
So the whole Yuzu situation just had to hit Citra. Nintendo you are really walking on thin ice with this shit rn
But a message to the people, just because of this bullshit doesn’t mean we have to comply. Citra and Yuzu aren’t truly dead even if the devs cut off the official download.
Save your source code, save your versions of both. Keep circulating the emulators. Do not comply and let them get lost in the fire.
Justice for Citra 🍊🍋

since citra got shut down, I have a very important message for android users who still have it installed:
save your apks!!!
if you downloaded citra from google play, you can use 3rd party apps or services to extract the citra apk! once you do that, you can put it up somewhere like google drive or another cloud storage service before you delete it so you still have access!! if you got it from a 3rd party service like some sort of shady apk website, there's no need! you have the apk (assuming you didn't delete it)!! now you just need to upload it somewhere!!!
I've made the mistake of deleting citra before doing this, but I do have citra enhanced!! which can be downloaded here!! and I saved the apk this time in case the site goes down!!
and also, if you have revanced manager, you can patch the regular citra apk to be on the premium version instead of the base version!!
