Meme - Narnian food asks
Toffee-fruit: Something from fantasy you'd love to believe in?Narnia. I mean, fucking imagine if that shit was real and we actually ended up going there when we died. It’d make death seem less final lmao.
Sardines: Weirdest obsession?I mean, I don’t know about weird, but I love cats an obsessive amount, and that COULD be considered weird, I guess. My love for books also reaches a really weird level. I just love things very enthusiastically and it can get weird LMAO.

mermaids, unicorns and dragons
Mythological Narnia Creatures asks!
-Mermaids- Beach or mountain?
Ugh that’s hard because I love both. I think I like the idea of the beach more than the atmosphere, though. Like when I think about beaches, I think warmth and summertime, the taste of orange soda and the smell of sunscreen. But then when I actually go to the beach it’s nothing but serious wind that blows sand into a bunch of unpleasant places and middle aged guys walking around in Speedos. I don’t immediately think of the mountains when I think of someplace nice (nor do I feel like I’ve ever truly visited the mountains) but I think the cooler air, seclusion, and enveloping nature are realistically more my taste, so mountains.
-Unicorns- If you could take anything from the fictional world of Narnia, what would you take and why?
THIS IS SUCH A HARD QUESTION BECAUSE THERE’S SO MANY ANSWERS. Seriously, one of the things I absolutely adore about Narnia is how it’s so richly embedded with life lessons and morality. I think my favorite thing, however, is probably the way CS Lewis wrote his female characters and proved that there is more than one way to be a strong woman. You can be skilled in swordsmanship and archery in the traditional sense of strength or you could be emotionally strong like Susan, or intellectually strong or emotionally strong. You can have faults and make mistakes and still be strong and worthy of praise. I know Lewis falls under a lot of scrutiny for Susan’s fate but I feel like that not only overlooks the reality of many people’s relationships with religion (mine included) but also seriously downplays the incredible, well-rounded, and diverse group of female characters he’s written into the series. I’ve truthfully always looked up to the Narnia girls for guidance and strength and I don’t think that’s ever going to change.
-Dragons- Flying or the ability to breath fire at will?
Considering I’m pretty much terrified of heights, breath fire. Plus, that means I can instantly cook food like popcorn and hot dogs which is always a win.

Tagged by @the-spectacular-spiderfan Rules: Answer the questions, ask 11 more and tag 11 people 1: What is one song that describes you best? Well, it depends on my mood. Sometimes it's Headphones or Work of Art by Brit Nicole and sometimes it's Rock Show by Halestorm. 2: What is the funniest joke you've ever heard? Hmmmmm..... It goes like this: Person one: Hey I have a knock knock joke. You start. Person two: Knock knock! Person one: Whos there? Person two: *reaction varies upon person* 3: What's your favorite book series? The chronicles of Narnia!!!!!! 4: What actors/actresses would you like to cast to play the characters in your favorite book series? Hmmm.... I really loved the casting in the movies so far, and for the upcoming ones, I'd be very exited for some new actors to be discovered, rather than ones already known. That being said, I wouldn't be against Millie Bobby Brown playing Jill if she takes the role. 5: Who is your favorite author? Uh.... It depends on my mood again. C. S. Lewis, Kiera Cass, Rick Riodian, Polly Shulman, Veronica Roth and Suzanne Collins are all very good. 6: What is your favorite music genre? I like a bit of pretty much everything, but rn its contemporary Christian. (Brit Nicole is a blessing to my existence) 7: What is your favorite book genre? Fantasy! And sci fi. And dystopian. And an occasional cheesy romance. Okay, more than occasional..... 8: If you could meet anyone from history, who would you meet? C. S. Lewis! I'd ask him a few questions about his books (especially Narnia) and on his theology. I'd also ask his favorite color because that's something you should always know about people. 9: Do you play an instrument? I play a little piano and I took up violin last year! 10: When is your birthday? July 9th! 11: If you could go to any country, where would you like to go? Seeing Ireland has always been a dream of mine. It just sounds so cool and pretty. My questions!: 1. Mermaids or unicorns or dragons? 2. French fries and milkshakes or milk and cookies? 3. What's your dream job v/ what job do you plan on having? 4. Have you ever had a major plutonic crush on someone? 5. Do you want kids and/or do you want to be a "cool aunt/uncle"? 6. Favorite childhood book? 7. If you could have one wish for only yourself, what would you wish for? 8. If you could have one wish for someone else, what would you wish for? 9. What's the design on your oldest T-shirt? 10. Makeup or nah? 11. What music do you listen to when you're upset? I'm tagging @the-spectacular-spiderfan (because different questions every time) @nylonsandlipstick @itslydianotolivia @christmaspev @narnia-knight @little-mad-margaret @jillpcle @riptidethepen

The Pevensie's Christmas Gifts HCs
secret santa for @christmaspev (¾)
Peter:
before coming to Narnia he’d probably like books
the more difficult they were, the better
they made him feel a connection to his father
after becoming a king, he’d prefer simpler things like a new pen, a personalised bookmark or a bottle of coloured ink
he’d get a lot of those from diplomats
he’d also get wine and mead from Archenland and Calormen, otherwise very expensive to import, and while he’d know they were essentially bribes, he’d still be thankful enough to let Susan pressure him into writing short, formal thank-you notes attached to equally precious Narnian wines back
He’d say he never drinks the gifts, but he’d enjoy a glass of mead on occasion, especially in winter when politics would drive him half mad
Susan would give him children’s games she’d find on her trips to town
mostly board games because she knows he loves to spend time with his family and they give him the perfect excuse
of course, every time they do end up playing them, all of them lose their tempers and it just becomes a shouting match
Edmund usually wins both the game and the shouting match, though Lucy isn’t far behind
it ends up making Peter sulk, but he’s always happy to receive a new game
Edmund would probably get him mock gifts
a pillow with ‘magnificent’ embroidered into it so he could throw it at Peter’s head when he was being hot headed and stupid
a chest full of fluffy animal toys, with ‘little beast’ carved into it as a reminder of when Peter called him by that name
a ‘Best Father’ cup
a fake fountain pen which would spritz ink at Peter’s face every time he tried to use it (and he did so by mistake too many times to count)
he’d get him proper gifts once in a while (something like a handmade scarf) and laugh at Peter when he tried to figure out what the trick is
he’d get handcrafted journals from Lucy, made of any type of paper shed stumble on, sometimes full of encouraging quotes or heartwarming messages
they’d vary in sizes so he’d end up with an eccentric looking shelf, filled with the journals she’d given him over the years
sometimes she’d switch it up to surprise him, giving him little pouches of herbal teas or statuettes
Susan:
she’d receive expensive looking dresses from the ladies at court, all wanting to impress her
back in England she’d love dresses like that, but in Narnia they turn out to be most irritating
she would say thank you, of course, but she’d rarely wear the dresses
the one time she does wear one of them, a feud breaks out between two ladies and she decides never to get involved in such drama again
she’d never wear the jewelry she’d receive from foreign ambassadors or suitors either
she refuses to become a “prize” in a duel between two arrogant suitors thinking they have ownership over her because she’d worn their jewels
her siblings never give her clothes and jewels for that exact reason
Peter would struggle with Susan’s presents, not wanting to give her books all the time, so his gifts would vary
he’d get her a chessboard one year so she wouldn’t have to borrow Edmund’s all the time
a trip to Archenland the next year
he gets her a horse once to try and convince her to go out on rides more, a charming white stallion whom she grows to love
and a myriad of other little trinkets, diverse and eccentric, always a bit badly made (Susan suspects he gets the craftsman to let him help in the making)
she gets arrows from Edmund, crafted from different types of wood
some of them are made from branches given to them by dryads, which makes them even more special since dryads rarely part with even fallen branches
Edmund makes some of them himself, carving little flowers or lions into the wood
once he carves a lamppost, a wardrobe and a little inscription of “logically, it’s impossible” and it makes Susan choke on her tea as she remembers
he attempts to make a bow once, fails miserably, and still gives it to her, because at least he tried
Susan hangs it on her wall because ‘she appreciates the effort’
in reality it’s just so she can show all the visitors the extent of King Edmund the Just’s crafting skills
Lucy would paint for her, usually landscapes from back in England or scenes from the balls Susan organises
the most ridiculous ones mostly, like the time one of Susan’s suitors slipped on the marble floor and fell into an elaborate strawberry cream cake
or the time one of Edmund’s wolf guards attempted to sniff at a lady’s dress, convinced she was carrying poison in her skirts, but ended up sending her into an outrage
she’d paint Susan herself sometimes
the way she sees her in war, in an armour, face and clothes covered in mud, bow and arrow in hand, standing in the middle of a battlefield
other times it’d be the way she looks in the evening, sprawled on the carpet in front of the fireplace, her loose hair surrounded by a golden glow, her feet bare, comfortable and completely alone with her thoughts
the paintings would hang side by side in one of the galleries, the duality obvious though most visitors wouldn’t recognize their Gentle Queen in them, blinded by the image of her usual overwhelming grace and elegance
Edmund:
back in England he’d always ask for sweets, particularly turkish delight
he wouldn’t get it often, but he would receive a variety of toys
he’d tinker with them through the year, take them apart and combine them, making even better toys
after coming to Narnia neither the turkish delight nor the toys would sit right with him anymore
he’d receive chess sets, heavy sets of books or newly forged weapons instead, particularly from foreigners or nobility he doesn’t know well
at some point he has about ten chess sets, including ones made of gold, marble and glass, but he always uses the same one - the first one he’d gotten
Peter would go all out, probably getting him elaborate weapons or marble bookends
accompanied by dad jokes because he can’t hold back when it comes to seeing Edmund scowl at them, even though he secretly enjoys them
sometimes he’d give him packets of coffee from Calormen, knowing Edmund loves drinking it when he’s reading
and the note would read something like ‘Why did the coffee file a police report? Because it got mugged.’
Peter and Lucy would be the only ones laughing while Edmund and Susan would just look at them in disgust
Susan would get him detective stories, like the ones he read back in England, only the cases would include Narnian creatures
she’d write clever notes inside them, having read them first, making it more difficult for him to figure out the murderer
eventually they’d start competing over who can figure out the culprit first
(Edmund would usually win, much to Susan’s complaints of “he cheated”)
Lucy would write him a book of their family adventures complete with colorful illustrations and written in perfect script
it would include a snippet of his story with the White Witch as well, accompanied by an illustration of a petulant, pouting Edmund asking to become taller, at which point Edmund would just smile
and hug Lucy with all his might for making it so obvious he’d been a foolish child
every time he’d read it, the ridiculousness of the illustrations would make him laugh through his grief
Lucy:
she’d get gifts from half the land, having travelled around and made friends everywhere she went
she’d send them all handwritten, personalised thank-you cards back along with some simple trinkets
Edmund would complain about it being unfair how she gets handmade chocolates from the cooks
and pastries from the bakeries in town
she’d just laugh and tell him he should go out more often instead of staying inside like a hermit all the time
but she’d share (some of) the food with everyone
(not quite ready to give up the chocolates)
her siblings would all compete about who can make her react the most actively with their gift
and they would all spoil her immensely
Peter would give her the oddest little books from local bookshops
stuff like “How to climb on the back of a centaur without them noticing” or “10 tips to becoming a faun in your free time”
often they’d be falling apart or covered in odd marks
which would just make seeing Lucy’s reaction funnier
but also paints and paintbrushes because he knows how quickly she uses them up
she’d surprisingly get her best daggers from Susan because she’s all for self-defense
all kinds of daggers, from tiny ones meant to be hidden in sleeves, to ones as long as her calf
then again, Susan would also get her etiquette guides every year
Lucy would just use them to keep her desk from wobbling or as target practice for her throwing daggers
it would drive Susan mad (which is partly why Lucy would do it) but she’d end up shrugging and mumbling about how they were at least being put to good use
Edmund would be the most likely to win their competition
he’d spoil her the most which means Multiple Gifts
one year he’d get her a very badly knitted lion toy
the next a very badly knitted mr tumnus
and it would become tradition to give her badly knitted toys or pieces of clothing
but then he’d also give her gifts like pressed flowers from his adventures
and jars full of water from the no-longer-frozen frozen river or the beavers’ dam, jars of honey from the lantern waste and little trinkets from his travels
because he knows how much she likes to stick them in scrapbooks or keep them on her shelf
most of the time, she’d be with him on adventures, so it made it that much more difficult to hide the gifts
they’d also have to stay hidden for a very long time
once he gives her a shred of a Narnian flag from the Battle of Beruna and she weeps from the overwhelming memories coming up suddenly

secret santa for @christmaspev (¼)
December is difficult for the Pevensies.
Cair Paravel is bare, its majestic skeleton almost grotesque in the light of the setting sun - too plain, too torn apart by winds and rain. The gardens turn brown, the roses wither and the sea turns a dark green, miles away from its usual turquoise. The sunlight is dim, if even present, and life is exceedingly dull among the cold walls of a too-big home.
Peter spends his time in his study, buried behind piles of paperwork and books on military strategy. There’s barely any time to spare those days as most of the rebel groups pick up the rate of their attacks thinking the monarchs unprepared due to the upcoming festivities. It keeps him from the rest of his family, keeps him seated and falling asleep at his desk rather than in his bed, keeps him cut off from the usual routines of the castle.
Susan is just as busy, planning upcoming balls and festivities, mapping out the advent fairs in town and wondering how to make the castle look less austere. She hand-writes invitations in perfect calligraphic scrawl until her fingers cramp and she can barely hold the pen up anymore, seals them off with the official seal and stares at the lion in the wax, wishing it would speak to her, let her know of an address she can mail the invitation to. It doesn’t.
Edmund can’t keep still within the confines of the stone walls. He rushes off each morning to the fields and swings his sword until his body aches and his hands are full of blisters, turned blue by the cold. He takes Phillip out for a ride into the woods, galloping through the snow for as long as he can, only to find himself lost, having to wander back to the barren stone, too much like ice to feel safe, too reminiscent of the price paid to be like home. The really bad nights, he sleeps in the library by the dying embers, always with the same book in his hands, reminding himself of what he has done.
Lucy, on the other hand, doesn’t leave her rooms. She lies in bed for half the day, wishing she could put on that sunshine smile and run around the castle grounds, wishing everyone good day, and she does sometimes, but her cheery smiles are met with more gloom. So instead she stays in her bed, chatting to the occasional maid passing by, or Tumnus when he visits, pretending, for a moment, that everything is fine. Around noon she gets up, eats the cold breakfast at her table, then sits on the balcony, cocooned in blankets and coats, watching the beach and waiting for a shine of gold which never comes.
December is difficult yes, but on Christmas Eve, when a thick blanket of snow has already covered the castle grounds, all four Pevensies gather around the Christmas tree in one of the smaller halls, close enough to the kitchen that the smell of roast dinner and cookies wafts over to them. They cuddle, letting their tired heads fall on each other’s shoulders, crying during heartfelt talks consisting of confessions of difficulties, love for one another and love for both Narnia and the home back in England that they can barely remember now. They talk of Aslan, of the people they’ve lost in the wars over the years and whisper comfort in the candlelight. They fall asleep in a heap on the floor, covered by blankets and nestled close to the fire.
When they wake up the next morning, they smile widely, knowing that they will always have one another, no matter how difficult it gets (and proceed to open their presents in a screaming, gleeful mess of thankfulness and scolding, the latter mostly on Susan’s end).
