So last night I picked up and consumed this play within what felt like a matter of minutes and a lifetime simultaneously. I really enjoyed it: Christina, The Girl King by Michel Marc Bouchard 🇸🇪 This is a play that follows the Queen of Sweden (back in the day) as she explores Religion vs. Knowledge, Masculinity vs. Femininity, and Love vs. Manipulation. It is a thrilling account of a lesbian love affair that historians are too afraid to name 🦌 This is my first play from @talonbooks publishing, and I am definitely keen to pick up more from them. Not only do they have up to 6 Bouchard texts, but their catalogue looks incredible, especially their support for minority own voice writers.
