choso my beloved (lol)

so ive been reblogging choso propaganda on my main so i really like him a lot if you couldnt tell already lol.

and like. ive been thinking about it recently and also thinking about family/found family in chainsaw man and stuff and i realized one of the reasons i really like choso lol

so.

he’s just. a good brother who looks out for his younger siblings. like that’s it lmao. the bar is literally so low, a guy with basic decency to his family members shows up and is nice and i turned into the biggest simp lol!

seriously. there’s that annoying trend of older brothers (and fathers) in anime that are just. jerks. like, sometimes for no reason too lol. notable ones that come to my mind right now are like.

sesshomaru

itachi uchiha

byakuya kuchiki

dabi/touya todoroki

knives (technically he and vash are twins iirc but still. a jerk lol)

then there are like brothers that are good and semi-realistic and care about their siblings, like tanjiro kamado or the brothers from laughing in the clouds.

but like. i think a difference between choso and the other “good” bros is that normal guys like tanjiro grew up together and have an already existing familiar bond from spending time together their entire lives, so it’s pretty much expected that they care for each other.

MEANWHILE. Choso, the greatest nii-chan, literally has only known yuuji itadori for like. 1 day. a few hours at most honestly. sensed that they are brothers thru his blood sense stuff. and immediately, literally in the middle of battle during the end of the shinjuku arc, his family instinct kicked in and he was just suddenly. “oh shit i gotta protect this kid because he is my little brother, even tho he’s technically a jujutsu sorcerer who is an enemy.” he even asked yuuji to call him nii-chan when yuuji was literally “who tf are you?????”

this is just. so hilarious to me.

and so nice to read since im so tired of eldest siblings just being abusive jerks or being weirdos in anime lololol. i myself am an eldest child with 2 younger siblings so some of things he said did hit me too lol.

and it continues in like 134-current 143, with choso literally telling naoya that he’s a loser for being disrespectful to his older brothers and family in general and stuff. then says that eldest siblings have a duty to protect and be role models for their younger siblings. and then proceeds to beat him up lol.
