Mountain City Green Chain / Chongqing Expo Expansion. Master planning and landscape design by TOPOS @toposla Lead Designer: Yi Zhu, PLA, ASLA For Chongqing, China, a fast-growing metropolis with dangerously strained open space resources, the landscape architect-initiated Mountain City Green Chain program establishes an unprecedented approach to new development: the program establishes an ambitious initiative to connect riparian, forest, mountain and open spaces, and to use connected open space to create long-term environmental, community, economic and local cultural value. The development is planned as a community resource, a place to gather, exercise, and experience nature. Rather than creating an image-driven design, a comprehensive, synergistic model is conceived for Chongqing Expo Expansion. The model mitigates environmental impacts while facilitating economic growth. . . . #urbandesign #landscapedesign #chongqing #greenroof #landscapeurbanism #parks #openspace @dezeen @archdaily https://www.instagram.com/p/CeLtltSOlVN/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Park Reception Hall of LUXERIVERS, #Chongqing, China by MOD Architecture Read more: Link in bio! Photography: AsYouSee (Wang Ting), HereSpace It is not just a sales office, but an art museum. Encircled by two rivers, Chongqing is of undulating terrain. Compared with other cities, Chongqing has a sense of folds, a stereoscopic effect, and a concave shape. With the three-dimensional beauty of Chongqing as its main design concept, the overall space absorbed the artistic conception and pattern of Chongqing, a mountain city, and materialized the concept into those design elements. Through the artistic expression of the natural environment and urban culture, Wanhua Group presents a new landmark in Chongqing for the first time… #china #pool #архитектура www.amazingarchitecture.com ✔ A collection of the best contemporary architecture to inspire you. #design #architecture #amazingarchitecture #architect #arquitectura #luxury #realestate #life #cute #architettura #interiordesign #photooftheday #love #travel #construction #furniture #instagood #fashion #beautiful #archilovers #home #house ‎#amazing #picoftheday #architecturephotography ‎#معماری (at Chongqing, China) https://www.instagram.com/p/CmGDmFds7Iw/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

❤️ Good Evening..
Flying Kiss Park, China
Standing on the Baima Mountain in Chongqing, each of the two massive statues – one male and one female – holds a rotating platform. Swinging from ground level to the sky high reach, the Flying Kiss Ride overwhelms you with a most enticing panorama of lofty mountains and lush green valleys. Reflecting/enlivening the Chinese mythical story of two lovers, the statues appear to blow kisses as they reach the peak.

WORLD NEWS
India: Floods, landslides leave 40 dead (AP)
“At least 40 people have died and others are missing in flash floods triggered by intense monsoon rains in northern India over the past three days, officials said Sunday. The rains inundated hundreds of villages, swept away mud houses, flooded roads and destroyed bridges in some parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand states. The Indian Meteorological Department predicted that heavy to very heavy rain would continue to fall in the region for the next two days.”
China: Fights brush fires, extends power rationing in drought (AP)
“Brush fires have forced the evacuation of more than 1,500 people in southwest China and power rationing for factories has reportedly been extended as weeks of record heat and drought batter the region. Some shopping malls in the megacity of Chongqing have been ordered closed for most of the day to reduce electricity demand, state broadcaster CCTV said, limiting opening hours to 4 to 9 p.m.”
Mexico: Maya village’s water, future threatened by Mexican train (AP)
“Mexico’s ambitious Maya Train project is supposed to bring development to the Yucatan Peninsula, but along the country’s Caribbean coast it is threatening the Indigenous Maya people it was named for and dividing communities it was meant to help. One controversial stretch cuts a more than 68-mile (110-kilometer) swath through the jungle between the resorts of Cancun and Tulum, over some of the most complex and fragile underground cave systems in the world.”
US NEWS
Police Brutality: 3 Arkansas officers suspended after video captures beating (AP)
“Three Arkansas law enforcement officers were suspended, and state police launched an investigation after a video posted on social media showed two of them beating a suspect while a third officer held him on the ground. The officers were responding to a report of a man making threats outside a convenience store Sunday in the small town of Mulberry, about 140 miles (220 kilometers) northwest of Little Rock, near the border with Oklahoma, authorities said.”
Anthony Fauci: Stepping down after decades as top US infection expert (AP)
“Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert who became a household name — and the subject of partisan attacks — during the COVID-19 pandemic, announced Monday he will leave the federal government in December after more than five decades. Fauci directs the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, is chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden and also leads a lab studying the immune system.”
Floods: Hiker missing in Utah flooding as monsoon hits US Southwest (AP)
“Authorities have been searching for days for an Arizona woman reported missing after being swept away by floodwaters in Utah’s Zion National Park as strong seasonal rain storms hit parts of the U.S. Southwest. National Park Service officials said rangers and members of the Zion Search and Rescue Team were in the Virgin River area Sunday looking for Jetal Agnihotri, 29, of Tucson.”

After souls have had their sins and transgressions tortured out of them for indeterminable periods of time, they are finally allowed to begin the process of being reincarnated back into the world.
In the Buddhist faith, life is simply part of the journey to attaining enlightenment. Beings must go through multiple cycles of life, death, purgatory, and rebirth in order to be cleansed of all accumulated bad karma and gain enough good karma to attain this highest state of being.
Souls who are deemed ready to go back into the world are first required to face a mythical old lady called Meng Po (孟婆)—or Granny Meng. She is the goddess of forgetfulness and oversees preparing the Broth of Oblivion, stewed using various herbs and plants, which will wipe the soul of their memories of their previous life and their experiences in hell. Purged of all their previous knowledge and sins, the soul then crosses the Bridge of Forgetfulness and gets reborn into a new earthly incarnation to begin the cycle all over again.
Because of this myth, there have been Chinese legends of babies being able to speak, or children seemingly wise beyond their years with inexplicably begotten knowledge, countless stories and movies also continue to use the trope of lovers remembering each other after reincarnation or if you encounter somebody who feels mysteriously familiar, the Chinese belief is that you were likely knew each other during your previous lives —in such cases, it is said that the soul within them didn’t drink or didn’t finish the entire portion of magical brew, thereby retaining memories from past lives.

Throughout this I’ve used a mixture of images from 3 different tourist attractions all about Diyu –
Fengdu Ghost City is a large complex of shrines, temples and monasteries modelled to resemble Youdu, the capital of Diyu located on the Ming mountain, in Fengdu County, Chongqing municipality, China. Fengdu became known as Ghost City in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) when two officials from the Imperial court married and settled on Mt. Minshan just outside the city. The combination of their surnames, Yin and Wang, sound like "King of Hell" in Chinese.
In the South of Singapore there’s a park called Haw Par Villa that has a dramatized interpretation of the Ten Courts of Hell based on Chinese folklore – It’s pretty run down these days but for a feee you can enter a gloomy man-made cave depicting the gruesome Chinese Ten Courts of Hell, apt named as Hell’s Museum.
And the Hell Museum at Jalan Kayu Joint Temple located alongside the southern end of Jalan Kayu, at the fringe of Sengkang Estate in Singapore
