Our 2023 Secret Pal Exchange is here!

The tentative dates are December 26-28, but you can keep voting here and I can adjust as needed.

What it is:

Simply put, it's secret santa

Everyone who shows interest in participating will be given a secret pal for whom they should create a small work (drabble, art, edit, moodboard, etc).

How to participate:

Reblog this post stating your interest AND include your top 3 books/characters/pairings to help guide the person who recieves you as their pal on what they should create for you (reblogs that do not include a top 3 will not be considered entries for participation)

or, message me here (@choicesfandomappreciation) or at @lovealexhunt stating your interest and include your top 3 picks

Note: When listing your interests, please include any preferred gender/pronouns/race or other customizations you may have

Please only sign up to participate if you plan to follow through and create for your pal

The deadline to sign up to participate is December 13th

What comes next:

On, or about, December 14th, I will message you with your secret pal and what they listed as their top 3 interests

You create something for them based on their interests and post it for them from December 26-28* (date open to change based on poll)

It would also be really nice if you could include a brief positive message of encouragement and/or support with your creation for your match

Just a personal plea...

If for any reason at all (no questions asked), you are unable to participate after signing up, please message me as soon as possible! Every secret pal/admirer/exchange event I've hosted always has had 1-3 people not follow through which leaves me scrambling to create for those people's matches at the last minute. I'm happy to do it, but I hate feeling rushed and not having time to think about it properly. Plus, if it can be avoided and matches reassigned I would rather do that. So if you go on hiatus, need a break, or life is just to busy (or whatever the reason) please just keep me updated. I'd so appreciate it!

i was planning on drawing shreya and verena but when you mentioned here that trystan and haelyn would dedicate the holidays to learning each other's culture, i thought it was really sweet and adorable so i had to draw it!! so here's them baking belladi, which is the only canonically drakovian dessert that i know of (there may have been other dishes mentioned in-game but this is the only one i remember and i haven't finished reading book 2 yet ,, lol)

i also think your mc's backstories are super cool!! it's so fascinating to read how your mcs came to be, down to all the intricate details, and the connections to other mcs from different books?? omg!!

Choices Secret Pal December 2023, edits by me

Here's my creation for the Choices Secret Pal event by @choicesfandomappreciation!

For @stars-are-within-me, I've made some edits of their couples in formalwear for a masquerade ball! Astra (BOLAS MC) and Nia, Carina (COP MC) and Trystan, and Eva and Maya (Hero MC)!

Well except uh... yeah Eva and Maya kinda got caught up saving some people earlier and were kinda rushed to get to the ball ahaha

Well as fun as it would be to start a new fashion trend... first rule of superheroes is keep your double identity secret. Let's just hope the others don't make a big deal outta it later...

Dear @lilyoffandoms,

I am so so sorry for the delay, there were more technical difficulties than I anticipated. I wanted to try something different for this event by making a lil mini-video edit based on an older TikTok trend along with a moodboard lol. Hope you like it!

What I knew about Maiele and Tyril mostly came from Dani's fics with Daenarya and Mal, but it was so much fun learning more about Maiele and Tyril from your blog since they're such a power couple!! I love that you chose this elf sprite specifically they're so underrated yet live up to the ethereal Nightbloom name <3 I'm so jealous of Maiele's sense of fashion too omg. He seems like a super charming and likable elf to be around and I can't wait to get to know him more!

I know your top 2 were It Lives related but I didn't feel confident enough to create something for them so I chose Ethan and Sydney and their fur baby, Caramel instead! A Cozy Christmas

Pairing: Ethan Ramsey x M!MC Sydney Book: Open Heart Rating: General, all the fluffy fluf Word Count: ~400 Synopsis: Ethan, Sydney, and Caramel spent a cozy Christmas at home.

The magical morning had been a flurry of torn wrapping paper, joyous laughter, and shared moments of surprise as Ethan, Sydney, and Caramel reveled in their early morning exchange of gifts. The once pristine room was now littered with opened boxes, crumpled paper, and scattered ribbons and bows. What might have been chaos to some was a magical wonderland for one special cat.

While the men sipped on cups of steaming cocoa from the comfort of their couch, Caramel darted around the living room with wonder and glee. She pounced into each empty box, rustled the discarded paper, and swatted the loose bows across the floor playing a game entirely of her own.

Sydney chuckled, watching the cat leap from one box to another, searching like Goldilocks for the "just right" one. “Seems like Caramel found herself a new playground.”

"Caramel does seem to have found herself quite the adventure," Ethan leaned back, watching their cat.

Sydney took another slow sip, relishing the soothing warmth of the cocoa. “Who needs fancy cat toys when she’s having the time of her life with these boxes?”

"You do," Ethan insisted, his brow arching.

Sydney's gaze flickered to Ethan, innocence sparking in his eyes.

"You were quite adamant that we purchased a number of those 'fancy' Christmas toys," Ethan teased gently.

"Well, she deserves the best!" Sydney defended with a grin, trying to hold his ground.

Ethan's smile softened. "And yet, she’s chosen the boxes over everything else." He gestured toward the pile of untouched cat toys.

“Maybe on another day,” Sydney shrugged, “but right now, this feels purrrrfect."

Ethan grinned, unable to stifle a laugh. "I suppose it is."

As Caramel continued her playful antics, Ethan and Sydney found themselves drawn closer together, relaxing in one another's arms. Ethan’s hand found Sydney’s, fingers intertwining in a comforting embrace. 

“Merry Christmas, Ethan,” Sydney murmured, his voice filled with adoration.

“Merry Christmas, Sydney,” Ethan replied, a soft smile gracing his lips, one reserved solely for his husband.

As the afternoon drifted by, the trio savored the simple joy of being together. The discarded boxes became castles for Caramel as Ethan and Sydney tried to make their fur baby the best box fort ever. Laughter filled every corner of their home. When the excitement settled, Sydney found himself snuggled against Ethan on the couch, watching Caramel curl up in an empty box, content to enjoy their cozy Christmas together.
