When I tell you that I need to have an electric type on my team in every game 😭 a lot of them have such cool designs, and also the shinx line is one of my favorites too so yeah!

#7: Favorite gym leader

A tie between Wallace, Gardenia, and Nessa because they are all very pretty! Also unrelated but Gardenia kinda creeped me out as a kid because of that one creepy pasta theory where she used to live in the old gateau and she was the one who killed everyone there or something?? Idk it was wild

Another tie between umbreon and celebi!! Probably celebi though because of mystery dungeon

Chandelure!! I love its design so much, and the way it’s iconic in black and white where you fight the elite four for the first time

So most of my favorite Pokémon are just my favorite because of them being the Pokémon of my ocs, or in one case, my father when I was 9-10. I was. A weird kid.

10: Lugia. My father. Me and a friend ran around the playground yelling lugia’s song but distorted, because shadow Lugia was attacking, and then my friend made shadow Lugia say, in his dying moments, that he was my father. Actually I’m wheezing because I had forgotten that until this moment what on earth.

9: Grovyle. I hate putting him this low, I had a crush on mystery dungeon grovyle- and yes pmd is why grovyle is here. When young me found out about celebi being in love with grovyle… listen he’s a thief but actually a hero and he’s doing it along because aaaaaaaaaaHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Gently holds.

8: blaziken. My first starter was torchic and blaziken is the fully evolved form. His name was Emma. I. Didn’t understand the gender markers.

7: mew. Tiny psychic cat my beloved. I would replay the mew windmill scene over and over again.

6: wyrdeer. My lovely girl, Nilla. She’s one of my character’s main Pokémon even though she wasn’t his starter, and she’s basically his service pokemon.

5: Mewtwo. I feel really bad about putting him this low, considering mewtwo was like, my first oc’s *thing*. She had a mewtwo tail, she had known the clones, had been best friends with Amber before Amber died, she was connected to mewtwo, my old username on everything was crystal(redacted)ketchum2 (redacted because her middle name is a friend’s deadname). But. I don’t like mewtwo as much as I used to?

4: Sneasel. His name is crime. He has a knife. Enough said. (He’s one of Fox’s Pokémon and my favorite to write, ever.)

3: Silvally my friend Silvally. Syl. Bright’s closest partner. What is it with characters of mine having a water type starter and then a partner that’s a second starter that evolves in a weird way?

2: Primarina, Pip, my beloved. Bright’s starter. I chose popplio for sun and moon because everyone hated on it when it was revealed and Trickywi made a song about it. I never regretted it. Primarina is amazing.

1: Oshawott. There is a life sized Oshawott Pokémon plushie and I keep going back to read the reviews. It was my starter in gen five and then I chose it in legends arceus, and I love Oshawott.

Favorite games. Hmm. The first one I played was Ruby. I loved soul silver and my shiny suicune. I probably put the most hours into sun moon ultra sun and ultra moon, if you combine them. And legends arceus is amazing. Plus the mystery dungeon games, and ranger guardian signs. Ukelele pichu my adored

Deuce and Kalim after playing Explorers of Sky and hearing that the Shiny Celebi in Mystery Dungeon DX might be a hint that the Explorers games are getting a remake: "YUU IF THIS IS TRUE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF THE GREAT SEVEN BRING IT OVER TO THIS WORLD!!!!!!!!!"

Also imagine everyone's reaction to the Gengar reveal, Lilia's reaction to the Nuzleaf reveal (being vague because I honestly don't know if you know about it), and Yuu legitimately offering to do Wish Cave and Purity Forest (all the while pointing out that aside from some rare Pokémon like Keckleon there is really no reason to go through Joyous Tower) if they want them to take a crack at those dungeons if the 99 floors, being reduced to level, either five or one don't remember, and in Purity Forest's case, being unable to take in any items and only being able to use one Pokémon. Just, they understand that they have their pride and might want to see if they can go through that by themselves, but they will let them know there is zero shame in letting them take over. They had to be rescued a couple times in a couple of their own runs due to how difficult those places are.

God, so many reveals that the boys would experience; the Gengar reveal, but before that, the utter relief of Ninetail's testament.

Oh God, not comparing Yuu to Gardevoir, and Yuu in return with the other comparison 🤣 It hits so well, though I would hope that the twst boys wouldn't let things end like it did for Gardevoir.

I feel like a few of them would feel for Explorers Partner and their character growth! Honestly, watching them grow from a Shrinking Violet to leading the expedition team during the Secret Lake expedition all the way to the end of the game. Like I said, Deuce and Kalim especially, but others like Riddle who are trying to change for the better would see that growth as inspiring!!

(Don't talk to me about Wish Cave and the like. Wish cave was the only one I beat because I wanted Jirachi so bad. I'm so bad at figuring out a way to beat them efficiently and in any kind of timely manner 😭)

So I heard Hollow Knight Pokemon aus are on the menu

Not so much "Hollow Knight characters as Pokemon trainers," as "AU where Hollow Knight characters ARE Pokemon so maybe this is mystery dungeon"

For the most part, I tried to make everyone a different kind of Pokemon unless they're family (like the vessels and Nailmasters) or just generally look like the same species to me (like Elderbug and Zote). ...This forced me to shove some square pegs into round Pokedex entries. I also made this about a month ago so I'm a bit confused by some of my own choices, in hindsight, but there's only so many fitting Bug mons.

Ghost- Fomantis (on account of Fomantis being something that looks like a bug rather than being a bug; it has the right proportions & silhouette, and has a lil bit of a cloak, and since it's either a bug-shaped plant or a very plant-aligned bug it seemed fitting for something born of Root) THK- Lurantis (same reasoning as above, but now Tall)

Hornet- Spinarak Herrah- Ariados

Quirrel- Karrablast (I seriously considered making him a Wimpod or Golisopod, but I decided that Karrablast looked more Quirrel-y than Golisopod could, in the end)

Elderbug- Swadloon (it has the right sort of forlorn look to it) Zote- Swadloon, but somehow lamer (since I think Elderbug and Zote are the same species)

Cornifer- Kricketune Iselda- Leavanny (which I guess makes her the same species as Elderbug and Zote, but nothing else fit her. The runner-up choice was Ledian, which worked even less)

Sly- Masquerain

Bretta- Illumise, very tentatively

Myla- Ledyba

Confessor Jiji- Sliggoo

Tiso- Durant

Cloth- Nincada

Last Stag- Vibrava

Okay I FINALLY got around to answering this, I started playing PMD and it reminded me of the post.

I’m gonna be honest I do not know many of these pokémon so I would be bad at deciding whose who.

But I think the vessels should be phantumps. Look at the shiny version. It’s literally a vessel.

As for Lemm, I asked my friend and they suggested he could be a galarian yamask, since they look like they are holding little relic pieces!

So I went with the idea of a time traveller always having their watch be the wrong time because of constant time travel and because I already did the other time Pokémon I decided to do celebi I also made them shiny to reference mystery dungeons

hiii everyone, this post is relevant again because guess what my latest hyperfixation is. That’s right. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon.

I’m gonna try and keep this short until I reach the cut (which will go into spoiler territory so DNI if you haven’t played the game. PLEASE. it’s a really good game) but watch out for the incoming infodump!

This started because I kept making jokes about how Partner (a mudkip in my playthrough) was similar to Lemm because they kept talking about relics, and that Hero (a torchic in my playthrough) was similar to Quirrel because they lost their memory.

And then we kept going from there. Really the only major character we don’t have a role for is Dusknoir. We have no clue who will have his role. Anyway.

Quirrel: Hero, and he’s an oshawott

Lemm: Partner, and he’s a lillipup

Hornet: Grovyle, and she is a raboot (my choice) or a sneasal (my friend’s choice)

Ghost: Celebi probably, and they are a shiny phantump

Mato: Now, Mato is complicated because we changed the lore a bit. He’s the guild master, but he used to be one of three before Oro left the town completely and Sheo decided to focus more on painting so now he has to do this alone. No ideas for who Chatot is.

Monomon: Uxie, because fog. Also the rest of the dreamers are going to be those 3. However, there was another choice for Monomon. More on that later.

Herrah: Mesprit

Lurien: Azelf

Myla, Cloth, Tiso, Zote, Bretta, and maybe more: other guild members

And now, spoiler time!

The other choice I had for Monomon was Grovyle of course, since she and Quirrel would have known each other in the past. But ended up deciding on Hornet in the end, since the 3 dreamers as the ones guarding the time gears also worked.

And Dusknoir, I have no clue whose gonna have his role. He’s a complicated character. And I do not want to default to Lace again like with the Hollowsong AU. But yeah. I have no idea who. Even after playing special episode 5

I really like Hornet as Grovyle, even if she didn’t know Quirrel in the past in canon, I still think it works.

Also thinking about all the situations with some of these characters that happens in pmd... >:)

If anyone wants to add any more ideas or just talk about this, let me know!

Oh and for extra, Markoth is a shiny decidueye, Thistlewind is a dartrix, Myla is a shaymin, Marmu as a caterpie maybe?, Hive Knight as a beedrill, Vespa as a vespiquen (come on, it’s literally in the name), Tiso as a sandshrew (inside joke, other option is riolu), and that’s all I remember off the top of my head. I’m gonna take a look at the pokédex later.
