"If a pig catches both a human influenza A virus and an avian influenza A virus at the same time, it can spark a process known as viral reassortment — a genetic exchange in which flu viruses swap gene segments." "Those swaps can introduce dramatic changes, producing a new virus with certain properties of a non-human strain coupled with the capacity to infect and spread between people." "The death rate in humans may be upwards of 50 per cent, World Health Organization data suggests, though it's possible that milder infections are getting missed, skewing the case fatality ratio. Still, in a population that's never been exposed, the global impacts could be dire." "More human cases could also be happening under the radar among farm workers who've moved to the U.S. from abroad, don't speak English as their first language, and may be hesitant to seek medical help, he added." "So I think there's probably underreporting on both sides," Armstrong said." "If [H5N1] gets into a population where there's constantly animals going in and out … it might not ever leave."
I've been watching this develop for the past several days, and apart from being terrified most people will not take this seriously (I've seen a handful of people already shout conspiracy on social media and it's alarming to see, as always). What I wanted to point out is that pandemics are going to continue to be our 'normal.' I watched a great video on YouTube a while ago (I believe it was by Vice?) that touched base on how this is going to become our new reality because of multiple factors (such as our proximity to animals, and environments/etc). It was when Covid hit and they did a piece debunking some of the misinformation floating on the internet. If I can find it I will post it here because it was informative and relevant to pretty much any world crisis we will see around any virus that spreads among a human population.
This post isn't trying to fear monger anyone, I just hope more people are aware of what is happening because this is important to talk about. There are already cases (of cows getting this bird flu) in the US, and I won't be surprised if there will be instances in more countries around the world. As usual, keep washing your hands/keeping good hygiene practices, masking up (and if you aren't I hope you consider it), and taking precautions if you do happen to visit/work or go near a pig or poultry farm too:
I'll keep track of this here of course, but please stay informed folks. And also FU to any governments who will try to minimize this or try to diminish the severity until it's too late and community spread happens like Covid because their actions are influenced by capitalistic interests.
Update (April 7th, 2024, 9:32pm EST): to anyone wondering where some of the source information originates from -here is a link to the CDC. They are tracking documented avian virus outbreaks in the US and the public can access it here:

Sometimes writers reveal they know nothing about an industry in the funniest way possible. Like in Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders the villains proclaim they're supplementing the income from their illegal mining operation by selling off the cows they stole from the locals as part of their ruse.
But like selling a cow is a whole fucking thing. That creature's almost certainly branded or tagged. You know these nerds aren't sitting at a cattle auction or filling out the paperwork.
Do they know a guy who will look the other way and slaughter them on the down low? Is there a local farmer's market or health food store unknowingly buying fenced beef? Is it an fda approved slaughter house?
The mining gold illegally from government lands is the least of their crimes here. There is absolutely another person involved in this operation. I need answers.

hi, i saw you reply to a dungeon meshi post (it was really interesting to read) and was curious. You mentioned a steer that would feed your family for more than a year. Is that from selling the meat or just careful food planning?
Not even 'careful' food planning - a single steer is an ENORMOUS animal.
Your average Holstein steer can grow into a 1,400+ lb animal. (About 18 months if it's fed primarily on grain and hay, about 26 months if grass-only...somewhere in the middle if you feed a combo seasonally, which most small farms do)
So, starting with a 1,400 lb Holstein steer... After removing the weight of hide, blood, unwanted bones and organs, then processing it down to steaks, roasts, and ground beef - you're still left with 500+ POUNDS of meat, and 200+ pounds of fat trim and bone for soups (Marrow is amazing) and cooking with. (beef tallow my beloved~) The fat trim can also be ground up with the less-desirable meat cuts to make sausage and ground beef.
If my spouse and I each ate half a pound of beef, every single day of the year, we'd still have well over a hundred pounds of meat left over. That is so much food!
We also eat chicken, and eggs as protein. (a lot of eggs tbh) Sometimes our meals don't have any meat at all.
We could gorge ourselves on steaks, and it would still be difficult for the two of us to eat an entire steer within a single year. It would be a chore.
A single steer will feed a family of 2 for over a year, easily.

Every single prediction that the remain campaign made has come true.
Boris said that any deal wouldn't come with a lowering of British food stands and here we are, we banned exports of live cattle because it was too cruel but now we are going to allow importing them. With British standards will have to lower so that British farmers can compete with cheap Australian imports.

Blower Type Pulverizer Manufacturer - Finix Agro Tech
Blower type pulverizer machines are a staple in many industries, from agriculture to food processing. Finix Agro Tech, a leading blower type pulverizer manufacturer, is setting new standards in the field with their high-quality, efficient machines.
Tumblr media
Understanding Blower Type Pulverizer Machines:
Blower type pulverizers, as the name suggests, use a blower for the grinding process. This type of machine is typically used in the cattle feed industry for grinding various types of grains used as cattle feeds like wheat, maize, barley, millets, ragi, rice, paddy, millets, etc..
Blower type pulverizers are often automatic, providing ease of operation and high efficiency. They are usually made of mild steel, ensuring durability and strength.
Key Features of Blower Type Pulverizers:
Blower type pulverizer machines are known for their robust construction, high efficiency, and low power consumption. Here are some of the key features of these machines:
High-Speed Grinding: Blower type pulverizers are equipped with powerful motors that operate at high speeds, ensuring rapid and efficient grinding of cattle feed ingredients. This high-speed operation enables quick processing, reducing downtime and increasing overall productivity. High Production Capacity, These machines have a high production capacity, often ranging from 100 kg/hr to 150 kg/hr.
Uniform Particle Size: These pulverizers are designed to produce cattle feed with a uniform particle size distribution. By achieving consistency in particle size, blower type pulverizers ensure balanced nutrition in the feed, promoting optimal growth and health in cattle.
Versatility: Blower type pulverizers are versatile machines capable of grinding a wide range of materials used in cattle feed production. Whether it’s grains, cereals, legumes, or other feed ingredients, these pulverizers can effectively pulverize various types of raw materials, allowing for flexible feed formulation.
Integrated Blower System: One of the distinctive features of blower type pulverizers is their integrated blower system. This system facilitates the transportation of ground feed particles from the pulverizer to the storage or mixing area through pneumatic conveyance. It eliminates the need for additional handling equipment, streamlining the grinding process and minimizing labor requirements.
Durable Construction: Blower type pulverizers are constructed with robust materials and components to withstand the rigors of continuous operation in demanding agricultural environments. The sturdy construction ensures long-term durability and reliability, reducing maintenance costs and downtime associated with equipment failure.
Efficient Dust Collection: Dust generation is inevitable during the grinding process. Blower type pulverizers are equipped with efficient dust collection systems that capture and contain airborne particles, maintaining a clean and safe working environment. This feature is essential for ensuring operator safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
Easy Maintenance: Despite their advanced functionality, blower type pulverizers are designed for ease of maintenance. Accessible components and user-friendly design facilitate routine inspections, cleaning, and servicing, allowing operators to keep the equipment in optimal condition with minimal effort.
Energy Efficiency: Blower type pulverizers are engineered for energy efficiency, incorporating advanced technologies to minimize power consumption without compromising performance. By reducing energy costs, these pulverizers help operators maximize operational efficiency and profitability.
