BOY DO I HAVE ANY HCS to the point I have many depending on which “verse” they share

Depending on my mood, they either met 1) in Alola as Grimsley was depressed and slowly falling into bad habits and Nanu “arrested” him (but it was more an excuse to get him somewhere warm, safe and with many Meowths for at least a couple of days) which caused Grimsley to be intrigued by this “lazy Kahuna” everyone was a bit skeptic about, or 2) they met at some point during Nanu’s Interpol days, back when Grimsley was dabbling into criminal affairs to pay off debts and satisfy his gambling thrills.

Grimsley used to spend a lot of times in casinos. Some of them were owned by Team Rocket. Grimsley knew. Grimsley didn’t care. Money is money, and he needed it badly

They both met Giovanni at some point. Depending on whether it is a catlovershipping AU or not, they meet him again at some point. It leads to a very awkward moment when you relalize your ex and your current boyfriend used to date each other and now the ex is back in both of your lives.

Surprisingly, Nanu’s Persian and Grimsley’s Liepard get along perfectly. They’re both ladies with the same standards, AKA, depressed trash trainers with a devious strike.

Grimsley used to dye his hair blue. Nowadays, he’s letting it show its natural colors.

Mantine surfing helped wonders with Grimsley’s depression. Nanu shows up sometimes to see him.

Whether I picture them endgame or just as ships passing by in the night, I always imagine their relationship rather independent; they don’t officially move in together, they have their own lives most of the time, and they don’t really mind the other having other flings. A bit like cats. Tired cats. But they still seek each other out when they want safety, company and a kindred mind, and they have a deep, if unusual relationship nonetheless.

I just said that they don’t really move in together, but Grimsley doesn’t even really have a home in Alola, often couch-surfing and staying in motels; so Nanu’s police station is the closest he has to a fixed home.

They both love playing cards and mah-jong. They’re both dirty cheaters. To the point their goal in each game is less to win and more to spot who’s cheating before the other notices you are. Hala and Molayne (who Grimsley appreciates for being a statistics nerd) are very confused when they’re invited to these games; when they invite Guzma and Plumeria, it often devolves in shouting matches (mostly from Guzma. The old cats are just smirking)

Despite being a loner like Nanu, Grimsley loves being pampered and spoiled....Which Nanu loves to do when they’re having sex~

Acerola is perfectly aware of their relationship. She also knows they’re not your typical couple either, and doesn’t mind, she’s used to weird.

Grimsley had a weird shock the first time an Alolan kid called him “Uncle”, and even after Nanu explained him that everyone would call other men “Uncle” or “cousin”, Grimsley still basks in the pleasure of being called so.

If Nanu is your old lazy cat napping all day, Grimsley is your weird staring cat who can spend hours on the same spot waiting for something.Especially at night. That’s where the bags under his eyes come from.“Local cryptid spotted near the Thrifty Megamartat 3 AM, click for More”
