"Take courage!" The Lord says, give or take 365 times in the Bible. Once for every day of the year! — We still have challenges ourselves with a threenager and a oneteen year old. 😂😂😂 But we want to encourage you to STAY THE COURSE. It's for the benefit of your own souls as well as your children's souls. Our goals as parents, marriages, and Catholics in general is to help each other get to Heaven! How zealous are we about doing so? Is the flame dim, just barely lit, or are we truly trying to fan the flame for it to grow with each passing day? — St. Paul tells us, "Today is the day of salvation!' 2 Corinthians 6:2. Today is the day that you say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, you tell Satan and all of his demons to flee your home, your lives, and your souls because you were purchased at a price and you will not trade the sun for a measly candle. It is time proclaim CHRISTUS REX, CHRIST IS KING of your life, your spouse, your family. IT 👏🏽 STARTS 👏🏽 AT 👏🏽 HOME 👏🏽 — Recognize, families, that you are your children's first and most important catechists and teachers of the Faith. You've heard it said, children are like sponges 🧽 and they soak in all that they hear and see. So, if they see and hear you cussing, yelling, and fighting, guess what they're gonna grow up to do? But if they see you praying persistently, speaking, and acting with charity, reading Scripture, going to Mass, etc, guess what they're gonna most likely do? — Most especially you, fathers and heads of your households, YOU are the ultimate catechist and teacher. Studies and statistics all say that if the father isn't present in the children's lives, and if he is but doesn't go to church, the children will have a great difficulty practicing the Faith nor become virtuous adults. They will grow up troubled and with relationship problems of all kinds. — That is why we started this page, to help couples and families recognize the importance of prayer in the home. We ourselves grew up in homes where God was almost inexistent, most especially prayer and Mass attendance. — So, father and mother, PRAY 👏🏽 AT 👏🏽 HOME 👏🏽. Make it a priority to start praying as a couple AND as a family. Washing dishes and growing in virtue?! 🤔 Can you even imagine such a thing? ••• I have to admit that the dishes were never the most exciting part of the day. I would always think of how many prayers I could have been saying in front of our home altar, or at Adoration, and it would make me irritated that the dishes would pile up. I remember even having minimalists tell me to donate the dishes and save myself some time! They didn't understand that I had to conquer my dishes to conquer my own selfish appetite. Doing the dishes is a service of #Love, just as much as cooking for my husband and for my family is. I enjoy washing the dishes now because I have turned it into a #Prayer and a labor of Love. Jesus Christ has blessed us with a roof over our heads, food on our plate, and yes, even the dishes in our sink! ••• When we pray while performing the jobs and tasks of the day we begin to love the tasks we once disliked for the sake of Christ Our Love.
