IMBOLC AT SUNSET Follow @eastvan_alchemy_co Admittedly, have never celebrated Imbolc before but it seems appropriate being that we work with the equinoxes AND we opened our shop on the summer solstice. Tonight, February 1st at sundown marks the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. We’re almost there kids! Imbolc is rooted in Gaelic tradition and originally a pagan festival associating it with the goddess Brigid. A traditional symbol associated with Brigid is the St. Brigid’s cross traditionally hung to protect against fire and evil. What does this have to do with candles? It’s a perfect time to clean out your altars or ritual space with lighting old candles and replacing them with new ones. Transferring the sacred flame as it were. It may seem tedious but it’s natural to me now. Simply clear your mind(and if you can’t clear your mind just try to focus on your intention of clearing the specific tool) then with your fingers draw a Pentacle with a Circle around the tool. With your hands shaped as a Circle, slide them downwards and then upwards around the tool while saying these words.✨Dear God, Dear Goddess, Masculine, Feminine, Light and Dark, Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Yin and Yang, I pray that you cleanse and bless these tools, including myself.
