Yangwang U7, 2024. A new super saloon from the fledgling BYD subsidiary that will produce over 1000hp using 4 electric motors. The all wheel drive sedan is claimed to be one of the most aerodynamically efficient cars to enter production, with a 0.195Cd.  BYD announced that the new Yangwang flagship will cost in excess of ¥1 million (£109,650/$141,000) in China.

This FWD hatchback will have a 60.5 kWh usable battery which will offer 0 – 62 times of 7.0 seconds, 99 mph top speeds and 150 kW (or 201 hp). Expect a combined winter range of 175 miles with warmer weather allowing for 240 miles. On charging, the 11 kW AC max will allow 6 hour and 30 minute 0 – 100% charging times with the 88 kW DC maximum allowing 41 minute 10 – 80% times. A cargo volume of 345L is available with this car. It has a vehicle fuel equivalent of 140 mpg. This car cannot tow. This is based on the E-Platform 3.0 which is an EV dedicated platform and includes a heat pump;

YangWang U9, 2023. A new electric supercar from BYD’s newly launched luxury EV brand that will be powered by 4 electric motors making it capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in a claimed 2 seconds flat. Power outputs have not been revealed but the Yangwang U8 off-roader has also 4 electric motors that each produce 295-322hp for a total output over 1,100 hp so the U9 is likely to offer something similar. When it launches in China, it will be priced over ¥1,000,000 ($145,340).
