It's 2am and I just woke up from a really intense nightmare. I don't even fully remember v what it was about, just that in the dream I woke up and woke up over and over and kept trying to wake myself up but couldn't. The only reason I knew I was actually awake and that I was in actual reality was my dog sniffing my face.
Your Ted prompts have been so lovely, once I got to some semblance of awake, all I wanted was that sweet mustache man to comfort me. I'd love to get some Teddy comforting me back to sleep 🥺
I'm a horrible sleeper and full of nightmares so a comforting Ted is just what I need too. I've gotchu friend. Let's goooo!
---
Relationship: Ted Lasso x reader
Smut: None, all fluff.
---
GASP
You shoot up in bed, heart racing a million beats a minute. Your eyes unfocused in your dark bedroom. Even though you're awake, you're reliving the nightmare you just had.
Shaking. You're shaking. Sweating. You can't catch your breath.
"Oh fuck," you mutter, trying to get ahold of yourself. You take a shuddering breath, still feeling like the air is being pushed out of your lungs.
Teddy stirs awake next to you, feeling the bed jiggle as you try to get comfortable and shake off what's haunting you.
"Sweetheart?" he asks sleepily, his hair sticking up, his eyes droopy. "Sweetheart, are you OK?"
When he meets your eyeline and sees the red puffiness of tears you've been sniffling, he knows you're not.
"Oh, no, c'mere," he says, tucking his arm over you and letting you lean into his chest.
"Bad dream?" he asks, his big hand smoothing down your back and up again, tangling in your hair and down your neck. Just his hands on you feel like such a relief, bringing you back to reality.
You nod.
"Horrible. I can't even remember what it was about but it felt so damn real," you murmur, breathing in his scent. Your hand holds his opposite shoulder, then brushes over his chest hair and back up to his neck. Holding onto Teddy like he's a life raft.
"It's OK, darlin', I've got you," he says, rubbing his hand soothingly down your back. "Here, I've got an idea..."
He lays you both down, bringing you partly over his body, tangling your legs together, and letting you nuzzle into his neck while he holds you tight.
"Gonna just hold ya like a weighted blanket, how's that sound?' he asks gently, making you giggle. Your head near his neck and chest means you can hear his steady heartbeat, and it helps your breathing connect with his.
"God, it was so frightening, I hate that," you murmur against his neck. He nods. "I know. It's just your brain playin' nasty tricks on ya. You've been stressed out, and this is how it works."
You take a deep breath.
"Doc Sharon told me that our anxiety manifests in all kinda ways. Panic attacks, nightmares, insomnia..."
You listen to his soft, low voice.
"But it's just your noodle tryin' to work out the kinks, is all. It just does it at the worst times sometimes."
His hands caress your back and waist, your thigh that's draped over his. He kisses the side of your head and hums.
"You're OK, sweetheart..."
You sniffle again.
"What would I do without you, Teddy?" you ask worriedly, hating the thought of ever not having him in your life.
"Don't even ask that, because you ain't gotta worry about that. I'm not goin' anywhere, sugar," he answers playfully. And you know in your heart he's right.
Before you know it, you're breathing deep, falling back into relaxation in Ted's tight embrace.
"I...love you, Teddy," you whisper as you start to drift off.
"I love you, too, sugar..."
You both fall fast asleep into a deep, dreamless slumber.
---
Short n' sweet - I hope that was comforting! I feel like Ted is the ultimate comfort character for situations just like this. What a man what a man what a mighty good man... Thanks for the prompt, friend!

Sindria's Prophet #11

"... At least until we can get you to your room. You need to wake up before they ring the bell."
'What's goin' on..?' Why was my shoulder shaking?
"Is Mori okay?”
The sound of my nickname snapped me into consciousness. I pushed myself up and hummed in question. When I opened my eyes it took me a moment to adjust to the bright light. Everyone was standing in front of a gate.
Tumblr media
"Did you sleep well?"
Why did this world have three suns? Wait. Two were Sinbad's eyes. That checks out.
I nodded with another hum. I wasn't able to form words yet, and even if I could I would have lost access from waking up to such a beautiful sight.
I missed his response since I was still half asleep, but I did hear Ja'far repeating his words from earlier.
"Please, try to stay awake for a little while. When we step through, they will ring the bell to announce Sin's arrival home. We didn't want you waking up from the shock."
I had to repeat his words in my mind to hold onto them.
"Oh. Thank you for waking me."
Even with their best efforts I didn't have enough time to get clear headed before the bell was rang to announce the return of the King. I ended up jolting anyway.
I was glad to still be on Aladdin's flying turban. I couldn't focus if my life depended on it. I had some energy since I had just been resting and I was still mostly numb from sleep so my aches and pains weren't affecting me yet. After being sick for so long, I was in serious need of serotonin, so I couldn't shake the waves of excitement building in me as I realized I really was in Sinbad's Palace. It's one thing to read about something and another to actually experience it. I knew I had said I would see a doctor as soon as I arrived, but I couldn't stop myself from going into full geek mode and just wanting to look around.
In other words, I was a weak, energetic, space cadet without a filter -prime condition to make an idiot and/or nuisance of myself- if I couldn't find something to force me to "sober" up and start masking.
---
~POV Sin~
Horns announced the King's return to his Palace as the group walked through its gate. Many of the guards and civil servants present gave their welcome. The looks of awe on his guests' faces as they walked through the entrance to the court yard boosted Sinbad's already large ego.
Alibaba's and Aladdin's excitement had started to wane after walking so long, but Mori had the same look she wore when she first got on the ship. Now that Sinbad had seen her like that before, he knew better than to try to engage her in something she wasn't already thinking about. It was a lot like dealing with Yamuraiha after the magicians made a breakthrough. But that didn't mean he wouldn't still try to tease her if he had the opportunity; he'd just have to try a different method.
It was a bit of a relief to see Mori so energetic after the previous night. He would still have the doctors sent to her asap though.
Given how important his guests were, Sinbad decided to escort them, himself, to the Green Sagittarius Tower. Placing the 3 kids in the guest tower was a given since they hadn't agreed to any partnerships yet. The Purple Leo Tower was where Sinbad and his most trusted lived; as much as he wanted to move Mori in there with them immediately, Sinbad knew it would be better to wait until the others learned to trust her, so his Prophet was going to have to stay in the Green Sagittarius Tower for now. This would also give them more time to prepare her permanent room.
Ja'far raised his voice slightly to get all of the guests' attention as he explained a little about the Tower. Masrur took his cue to leave. The Fanalis raised his hand in a half hearted wave as he turned away from the group and started to walk away. The King watched one General leave as he heard the other lead his guests into the Tower.
It was his time to head off too. The rest of his Generals that had been left at home would be showing up to greet him -there was a lot to catch up on. As Sinbad had started to leave, the waves encouraged him to look back at the guest tower. Mori was standing watching him instead of following Ja'far. She had her bag in her arms instead of on her back.
"Is something wrong?"
"I know I should go rest and wait for a doctor, but," she looked at him with an odd expression -like she was seeing through him, "the waves keep pointing me that way." She pointed at the direction he was going.
She was right. The waves would have her follow him
Tumblr media
instead of Ja'far.
"It's Drakon!" Mori gasped and her eyes grew. She gave a small laugh to herself. "The first Household Member is the first to show up."
Sure enough, the only member of Sinbad's Household that had fully assimilated with his Djinn's power had entered the court yard.
If she had this much energy and the waves wanted her out here then it should be fine. "Would you like to meet him now?"
Mori looked up at him shocked and expectant. "Is that okay???” It was like he was the center of her world in that moment.
"As long as you feel up to it." This was a good feeling.
She squeezed her bag in her arms. Mori seemed to become like a clingy child when she was unwell. If he had told her to go rest would she have begged him to stay and clung to him like she had before?
Her eyes grew determined. "I will have energy for about an hour. I'll go rest when I start to wear out, and I will ask for help if I need it -you don't have to remind me." Was she this direct because she was sick?
Drakon's deep voice came from behind Sinbad. "Welcome home, my friend."
The King turned to face his General. "It's good to be back."
"How did things end in Balbadd? When we heard about you loosing your metal vessels we got a little worried but it looks like you got them back." He laughed at the end. Drakon knew better than most that his King always manages to come out on top no matter what happens to him. He stiffened slightly. "Hmm? Who's this?” The General noticed Mori before Sinbad had a chance to answer his other questions.
Time for introductions then. "Drakon, this is Mori. She's the prophet I told Yam about." The King gestured towards her.
Mori put her bag down and when she stood up she had full composure. She offered a hand to the General. "It's an honor to meet you, Drakon. I read all about you when I read Fate." If Sinbad didn't know any better he would have no idea Mori had nearly died of fever only a few hours ago -she only looked tired. She was much better at acting than he expected. How long could she hide it though?
Drakon looked more dragon than man now making most uneasy around him, yet Mori didn't seem scared of him at all. Was it because she was hiding it or because she had read Fate? Actually, there was a strange glint in her eyes he couldn't place.
"Oh?” Drakon took her up on the handshake she offered. It was rare for someone not to flinch upon seeing him for the first time; Mori was definitely making a good first impression. "I must admit that I'm curious about this ability of yours."
The glint in Mori's eye grew into a full sparkle.
Their handshake didn't sit right with King Sinbad.
When their hands released, Mori put her hands in her pockets like she often did.
"Would you like an example?" Her smile didn't give anything away. "Before you were shipped out to Baal's Dungeon you tried to be noble and charming to Serendine but she responded by talking about how you followed her around 'like a baby duck' when you were little. Then she made you promise not to die." The waves were building around Mori again.
Serendine must have really said that. Drakon might not look human anymore, but Sinbad could still read his friend's expressions plain as day. Drakon was shocked by the first thing she said, and she was only just starting. Mori really was amazing.
"I know! Let me show you what I've got copied down so far" Mori squat down to her bag. She pulled out and opened a scroll, "Yeah. This one." She stood up with the scroll in hand and swayed a bit on the way up -she couldn't hide her condition fully.
Mori stepped between the King and his General, and turned so they were all facing the same direction. She raised the scroll so it would be easier to see. "Honestly, I had some other things to write down before I could start copying down Fate. I didn't start this until getting onto the ship, so please excuse the sloppiness."
Mori's handwriting looked rushed, like she couldn't get all of this out fast enough. Sinbad had barely gotten to start reading before she continued unrolling to reveal a detailed illustration of a family of three.
"That's-!" It was Sinbad and his parents when he was little.
Drakon glanced at his King, "Sin, are those people your parents?"
"Yup." Mori responded without looking up. "He looks a lot like Badrr, doesn't he?"
Back in Balbadd, Mori had said that she had read his life from his birth to his death, but it was different seeing undeniable proof.
She scrolled past more text and past another illustration and didn't stop until she got to a drawing of child Drakon following Serendine just like she had described. Mori continued scrolling through her work, and each image brought on more comments. There was an illustration of Sinbad meeting Yunan which she gratefully skipped past, a few of inside Baal and one from when Sinbad killed the Abare Narwhal in place of-
"Is this one of me? I look so young!!" The Imuchakk towered over all of them.
Mori whipped her head up. "Hinahoho?!" She wobbled from her quick movement. Sinbad placed a hand at her back to steady her; Mori didn't even react to his hand, instead she put all of her weight on it so she could stare up at the man behind them for a moment. That excited smile spread across her face. "Hello! It's nice to meet you. Please call me Mori."
Sinbad had purposefully gestured for Hina to stay quiet when he came up behind them so as not to distract Mori, but this was fine too.
"So this is where you went!" Ja'far came back from getting the three kids settled into their room.
Mori's smile was unwavering as she stood back on her own, unrolled the scroll to the next image and flipped it around for Ja'far to see. "We just got to your entrance. Care to join us?"
"Lady Prophet, I know you slept on your way here, but you were barely able to get off the ship before you had to lay down. Did you forget you're sick??"
Both Generals that had been looking at the scroll murmured questions about Mori's condition while the Prophet said nothing. At least Ja'far's words would have explained who Mori was for Hinahoho.
Ja'far's eyes wandered to the scroll in Mori's hands; his shoulders jolted when he realized what he was looking at. "Is that me??” He stepped closer to get a better look. After studying the image he looked up at the person holding it. "Did you make this?"
"Yes and yes."
The Prophet and the youngest General present watched each other for an opening.
Mori broke their silence. "I will go rest when I finish showing this scroll. We are almost done anyway."
Ja'far sighed. "Fine." He walked up next to Sinbad to join the group. Even if he tried to deny it, he couldn't fully hide his interest. "What is this scroll you've made?"
Mori turned
Tumblr media
the scroll back around so the rest were able to see an image of when Ja'far attacked Sinbad in his sleep back when he was still an assassin. "Since I'm Sindria's Prophet now, I am copying down Fate so it will be easier to keep in order than thinking about it. This is just a draft though. After I have everything written down I'll go back and make it better."
That explanation was perfectly timed as two more Generals had join the group from behind -not that Mori seemed to notice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next was an image of Hina in a cave being surrounded by insects.
"Hold on. I never told anyone about that."
Mori stopped scrolling at Hinahoho's comment.
"What is this?" Sinbad asked his General.
But it was Mori who answered. "When Hinahoho first entered Valefor's Dungeon he was swarmed by Blooderflies."
"'Blooderflies?'" All six repeated back at her.
"Butterflies that drink blood," she explained confidently. When none of them responded she tensed. Sinbad could see her turn a little pink as she said to herself, "I thought it was a clever name."
"I think it's hilarious!" Pisiti said before breaking into giggles.
Mori jolted, "It's Pisti this time!" and started to look around for the source of the voice. She spotted the Artemyran that was shorter than herself and the man standing behind her. "And Sharkkan!”
Sinbad could see Yamuraiha and Spartos in the distance. As soon as they were all introduced he'd have Mori head to bed -end of the scroll or not; the waves from earlier would be reaching their peak soon and she had almost fell over twice already. Of course, he wouldn't mind catching her again, but he didn't want her pushing herself in her current condition.
The cocky prince had his hands on his hips. "Are you really a Prophet or our biggest fan?"
"Maybe I'm both," Mori answered with a smile. Her face was a little red.
Was she flirting with Sharkkan??
"That so?" Sharkkan smirked and leaned between Drakon and Hinahoho to get a closer look at her. "When they said there was a real prophet I was expecting some old hag, not a cutie like you."
Mori's eyes dilated and she gave a small gasp. Seeing Mori get embarrassed from compliments was something that Sinbad normally enjoyed, but this time it put a bad taste in his mouth. And did Sharkkan have to get so close to her?
Mori clearly agreed since she attempted to step away from the flirtiest of the Eight Generals. She must have forgotten about her own bag though, as she tripped over it and fell backwards right into Sinbad's arms.
Mori didn't try to stand back up at all. She looked up at the King and after a moment she hid her face behind the scroll she was holding. ”I-I am not a klutz!”
"Oh?" Sinbad smiled down at her. This was much better. "Then did you intentionally fall-”
Mori clapped a hand over his mouth. "No! Shut up! I blame you for this!” She pulled the scroll into her chest, but it unrolled anyway. She was doing a poor job of hiding her enjoyment of his teasing.
He laughed into her hand and she went quiet. Her blush started traveling down her neck since her face couldn't contain it all. This was a much stronger reaction than he normally got from her. He was clearly the only one that could pull such cute expressions out of Mori. Sinbad kissed the palm hiding his lips, and when she pulled it back to herself with an "Ah!" he knew he had to tease her more.
"Are you saying you're really swooning for me then, my Beautiful Prophet?"
"I-!" Mori couldn't bring herself to deny it and pulled the scroll back up to her face. She still wasn't trying to stand on her own or leave his arms.
"That's a good atmosphere."
*Whistles*
"You don't think ...?"
"OH MY-!"
See? No one could seduce a woman better than he could.
Mori finally found her rebuttal. "Do you have any idea what it feels like to be surrounded by your waves near constantly??"
He hadn't thought about that. Mori's waves were constantly opening new paths for Fate to flow. They have felt advantageous and that they would help him reach his goals. He wanted to keep her close to see what other changes she would make. And of course he had felt that she was going to live out the rest of her life in Sindria. But what did his waves feel like to her?
She looked up at him as angry as she was embarrassed. "I only slipped on the ramp and just now, and-and fell off of the bowsprit last night, because your waves crashed into me!”
That caught him off guard. "You knew it was me last night?"
Tumblr media
"YES!" Mori's voice cracked at the end; she was still recovering so all this talking must have been wearing her out. "You're the only one who's waves feel like this." She broke eye as she got to the end.
Mori could identify him from his waves? There were certain people who's waves stood out to him as well -like hers-, but Sinbad was still not used to anyone else being able to feel the waves. This meant that he had kept quiet for nothing. It also meant that Mori had clung to him knowing who he was -maybe she wouldn't have accepted comfort from just anyone.
Her voice was almost inaudible. "When I realized it was you I was relieved. I've gotten hurt in the past when I was sick because I was alone so, ... thank you for taking care of me."
Just like when he had first learned that Mori could feels the waves, he was happy he was already holding her. He wanted to pull her closer like he had last time as well.
Yam let out a gasp while landing.
"WAIT!" Ja'far had been about to cut in to stop their antics anyway, but this was a completely different issue. "Mori, can you feel the waves of Fate like Sin??"
The King and the Prophet both stared at Ja'far for a few moments before answering in unison, "Yes."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
((Hey everybody. Pretty sure you can guess why this chapter took so long. I just really wanted to draw so much of this chapter in comic form UwU Also, a bunch of life things got in the way. Now that everything is opening back up I can't work from home anymore. I'm very sensitive to the heat so I have to rest and cool down after each drive which really cuts into the time I have each day. -_-
Ja'far stared in disbelief at his King. "Sin, you knew?? Are you sure?"
With the mood completely ruined Sinbad helped Mori stand up properly. She grabbed his sleeve to keep herself steady and he left his arm around her waist just in case.
All of Sinbad's Generals -sans Masrur who had already left- were watching him. Mori had many abilities that made her extremely valuable, but they also made her a prime target to any of their enemies. The more her value is known the bigger the target on her will be, and Mori wasn't a fighter. Sinbad had already told all of them that Mori was a Prophet since she had already made that skill known to others, and it was something he wanted to use -there was no way he could hide it. His Generals had kept the fact that he could feel the waves a secret this whole time, so they would be able to keep her secret as well.
"Mori can definitely feel the waves of Fate. But you should know it is different from her ability as a prophet." He figured he should clear that up before they asked. Sinbad didn't know how they were different, but he had enough information to know they were.
Mori's voice was a little horse and on the weak side. "Since King Sinbad and Ja'far eavesdropped on my conversation with Aladdin there's no reason to hide it."
The King and his partner in crime froze. SHE KNEW HE HAD SPIED ON HER. Did his waves give him away?
Mori continued, "I can only read the Fates of realities that I am not currently in. It's not the same as different planets; It's a different universe with different rules." She rolled up the scroll while explaining. "The one I came from doesn't have Rukh, magoi, magic, or Djinn, but we did have 1500 to 2000 more years of scientific development compared to this world-" She was cut off by a short coughing fit.
Sinbad looked down at Mori. She was getting worse by the second. It was most likely fever and not embarrassment making her cheeks red in this moment. "It seems I've pushed you too hard while you are still recovering. My apologies." It was time to send the prophet to bed. He pulled at her waist lightly. "Let's get you to your room so you can rest."
Mori shook her head. "I have one more thing I want to say first."
"Fine." If it wasn't for the look in her eyes he would have refused her.
Mori's voice was getting worse so she had to take breaks in her speech. "I don't know what caused me to slip from my reality into this one, but I'm here now ... I fully intend to use my knowledge to help this world... But since I can't read this world's Fates anymore, I don't know how my changes will affect things..." She gripped the scroll like a life line. "As much as I'd like to answer the questions you all must have now... my voice is really starting to hurt, so I'd like to go rest."
Sinbad sighed. "Of course." It was a tough note to leave on, but her health came first. They'd have plenty of time to talk once she was better.
On a side note, I will be drawing Storpas (lol) in the next chapter. Don't worry, I didn't forget him.
It will probably be another 2 weeks or so before I finish the next chapter since I have less time to work on it now.))

Finding Family Part 2
•Daryl Dixon x OFC•
Everyone had been set up in guest rooms for their overnight stay at Georgetown  and after an incredibly tense meeting the future of trade between Alexandria and the prospering community still remained undecided.
"They're gonna say no. Not a chance in hell we're getting even a taste of this shit." Abraham sighed, his head resting against the LaZ boy recliner  in Ricks room for the night.
"We don't know that." Michonne argued.
"Sure we do, y'all saw the way they looked at the girl. I hurt their people bad, no way any of us are gonna be welcomed here after today." Merle chuckled dryly, he was trying to hide the guilt and disappointment he felt in himself and had Daryl not known him his entire life he might have mistaken it for carelessness.
"We should have left him at home. What good ever comes from bringing Merle Dixon anywhere?" Glenn grumbled and Maggie pat his thigh comfortingly.
"Michonnes right, We don't know yet. these people are very reasonable, I've spoken to them, they know me and besides Lily would never leave us out to dry. She isn't like that." Rick nodded firmly.
"That was before we turned our backs on her and let Merle stay after everything that happened. We betrayed that girl, if I was her I wouldn't give us a damn thing." Carol was perched on the edge of the bed, her eyes sad and slightly angry as she regarded Merle. The older woman's gaze wandered over to Daryl for just a split second and the underlying disappointment in the clear blue made his stomach hurt, he stood up and grabbed his crossbow from the floor.
"Goin for a walk." He grumbled, Merle stood to follow but Daryl was quick to turn to him and shake his head "alone." He bit out.
The halls of the community center at Georgetown we're huge, over 20 rooms on each floor. Charlie had explained that the community center was where most of the residents who didn't have family lived, they were single rooms and it provided a sense of family in one large building for the residents who preferred not to be alone in their own home. It also was the same building as the mess hall, and that's exactly where he heard the familiar voice he had missed and replayed over and over on his head for two full years.
"Thanks Nellie, you're our new best friend forever. We will remember this moment for when grey carries on my iconic legacy. you will have a special page in my autobiography." Lili backed out of the kitchen, the beautiful baby boy wrapped up in her arms and a pint of vanilla ice cream in his.
"It's just because I love you both." A grey haired  woman in an apron shooed them out of the kitchen and winked, blowing a kiss at the curly haired little boy waving back at her.
"And we love you." Lili turned back towards the cafeteria and the smile she had been wearing slipped from her features when her eyes met Daryl's.
God it hurt.
Swallowing thickly he willed his feet to march over to the two, awkwardly rubbing his neck when he was close enough.
"I was just checking the place out. S'nice." He mumbled, eyes involuntarily falling on the little boy with the the sandy blonde curls staring up at him.
"Yeah. We have a really great system going here. Good people too." Greyson wiggled in her arms and Lili looked down "words." She smiled softly, urging him to speak gently.
"Down." He whispered "pease." His smile was wide and goofy and so damn adorable it almost physically hurt Daryl.
Lili beamed with pride
"You got it love." She gently placed him on the floor and peeled the top of the container off, sticking a metal spoon in the sweet vanilla ice cream and ruffling his hair.
Daryl watched in wonder as Greyson lifted himself onto a cafeteria bench and began taking tiny but determined bites of the sugary dessert.
"He's a smart kid. Little to be doin' all that aint' he?"
Daryl turned his attention back to Lili who was smiling in complete adoration at the boy with the matching eyes.
"Grey is very advanced, we have a former pediatrician who works in our infirmary and she says she's never seen someone his age  grasp language skills quite as fast as Greyson." She finally pulled her eyes away from her son and looked at Daryl, he could practically see the pride in her smile.
"Gets it from you. Ya always we're good at talkin'"
For a moment when her blue eyes sparkle and her nose scrunches up, Daryl's taken back to five years ago stranded in that damn lake with an arrow through his side and a pretty blonde woman dragging him through the mud and asking "where in the holy hot hell" did he come from.
"That's about all he gets from me except the hair, I carried him around for nine months only for him to come out a splitting image of his father." She laughed quietly.
"Got my nose.. and my mamas eyes." Daryl whispered as they both stared at Greyson.
"And your lips. Not to mention he catches the Georgia sun like you wouldn't believe, five minutes outside and he's golden brown, just like you." She smiled.
"Got your hankerin' for the sweets though." Daryl offered chuckling when Greyson sent a spoonful of vanilla halfway across the room.
"And your tendency to leave a mess." Lili raised a brow and pulled a rag from her pocket, wiping the melted ice cream off of her sons cheeks.
"Beautiful though. Real beautiful." He whispered, his palms itched to touch his son, to see if he was real, if this was something that he had helped to create. There was no way any Dixon could ever make something so beautiful and perfect.
"Still carrying' around that crossbow huh?" Lili nodded towards his practically third arm.
"Sure am. Never gettin' rid of her." He wiggled his eyebrows and smirked.
"Don't I know it." The beautiful blonde smiled fondly at the weapon that had saved her life more times than she could count "I'm still sticking to my knives, although I don't get out much to use em. I stay inside the walls mainly, take care of the sick and injured."
"Sounds nice, ya were meant for that. Made to help people." Daryl clarified, tracing her features with his eyes, memorizing every new scar and freckle, every laugh line, the last time he had seen her she had been bruised and swollen beyond recognition. The image of Dwight carrying her near lifeless body out of the saviors compound was forever burned in his mind.
"Sometimes I miss it out there, the adrenaline, the chase." Lili sighed before shaking her head and smiling at her son "but I can't take risks like that anymore, not unless I have too. Grey needs his mom. last week I went on a run because we needed specific medications and I left him with Dwight for two days, I came back covered in walker blood and Greyson just threw himself at me. I had to give him two baths just to get all that funk out of his hair." She giggled, scrunching her nose at the memory.
"He's a good boy." Daryl caught her sea green eyes and stared longingly at the woman he loved more than anything in this world.
"The best." She nodded, a sadness filtering across her face.
"Miss you every damn day." Daryl whispered, the words heart breakingly honest.
"You made a choice." Lili whispered back, wrapping her arms around her body tight, shielding herself from the one person who could ever truly hurt her.
"It was the wrong choice, I know that now," his voice broke, shadowed eyes dark and lost.
"It's too late now. You can't take it back.. you made your choice, you chose him."
"He's my brother." Daryl begged, he needed her to understand, no matter how impossible it was and how wrong it was he wanted her to understand.
"He's a monster." Lilis eyes filled with tears that she desperately tried to blink back "the things he did to me.. I can't.. when he was strangling me.. breaking my ribs all I could think about was getting back to you. I thought I was going to die and I didn't want to do that to you, I wanted to live for you. And then I came back to you, I fought for you only for you to allow that man back in our home, to sleep on the same floor as I did, to eat where I ate."
If it was possible Daryl could feel his heart cracking in his chest, the pain almost unbearable.
"I loved you with everything I had and I fought for you, I would have done anything for you and you gave up on me. You traded me in for your brother." She whispered, her voice far away.
"He's my family Lili." It sounded pathetic even to his own ears.
"And he's mine." Lili raised her voice, throwing her hand out to the little boy who was now curiously listening to the conversation and smiling up at the two adults as they turned to look at him.
"He's mine too." Daryl tried.
The woman before him narrowed her eyes and shook her head
"No.. no he isn't. You gave that claim up the second you let me walk out the doors of Alexandria. You made a decision, I told you when I left that there was no coming back from it and I meant that. Merle is your family. Greyson is mine."
"Lil please, I have too..."
"You're all going to be able to trade here, I told Charlie that you were all good people, that the past was the past and it had nothing to do with helping your people. You'll get what you need and then you can go, I don't want you bringing that man back to my home. By the time I put Greyson to sleep tomorrow I want to forget you both were ever here." With that Lili picked up Greyson and walked straight out of the mess hall doors leaving a broken hearted Daryl Dixon staring after the love of his life and their son.
It couldn't end like this.
He wouldn't let it.

The bright lights made it hard for you to open your eyes. You tried to move your arms, only to realize you were restrained. Memories of what happened the night before come rushing back; the break in, the fighting, the capturing of yourself and the turtles. This really looks like the end. You turn your head and see what you assume is a doctor. You swallow thickly, trying to move your legs only to realize.. they're in stirrups?! "What the fuck.." you say, gaining the attention of the doctor. He looks up from the laptop and meets your eyes. "What are you doing to me?!?" You scream. He chuckles.
"Oh, you've been unconscious for the entire procedure, miss. You're an amazing surrogate. The healthiest eggs I've ever seen, really." Is that supposed to be a compliment? "I'm really excited for the outcome of the experiment. I'm sure you're concerned, but you shouldn't be. I'm very confident that it will be just a normal pregnancy, a normal delivery. Then, if we don't get the desired outcome, we can try again." The smile never leaves his face. Your stomach suddenly feels sick.
"Pregnancy?!" You shout. "I'm pregnant?! How?!" Your head is spinning.
"One of your eggs were fertilized with the DNA sample we acquired from your friend, Raphael. We believe the outcome should greatly benefit our company, the physical talents of you both combined-" You tuned him out, you felt like your heart stopped. You couldn't breathe. There goes your chance with him..
"I'm pregnant with Raph's baby.." you lay you're head back as you feel tears filling your eyes. Are we ever getting out of here? The thought ran through your mind for the next few days until finally, at dusk, you heard glass breaking and an alarm going off. As you heard people getting beat up closer to where you were being kept, you felt hopeful.
"She's in there!!" April's voice called out. She must have gotten help. You feel like you're going to cry when she busts through the door and starts undoing your wrists. You immediately hug her, tears escaping your eyes as you sob. "Are you okay?! What'd they do to you.." she trails off, glancing at the screens around you.
"Come on!" Leo screams as you see the turtles knocking people down left and right. You stand up, grabbing the folder next to the chair you were strapped to, and ran as fast as you could while holding April's hand. Casey was holding a door for everyone while he urged everyone to hurry. The fresh air hits your face as you all make it outside and run towards the "lady killer" as Mikey calls it. You hold tight to the folder as you hop in the back with April, Donatello in the passenger seat, Leo driving, Mikey, Raphael and Casey in the back pushing buttons to get defenses up again the enemy. Once you're all in the clear, you can't help but stare at Raph. April nudges you, leaning in.
"Are you okay?" She asks. You immediately feel tears falling down your face. "It's okay, you're okay. We're all here, you're okay." She soothes, Mikey coming closer and offering reassurance as well. You shake your head.
"I'm pregnant." You choke out as you hand the folder to April.
"Pregnant?!" Mikey screams and looks at your belly. He's pulled back by Raphael harshly, who has a pained look on his face.
"Raph.." April says lowly, looking between the two of you.. "he needs to read this.." she says, looking to you. You nod your head and lean against her after she hands the folder to Raph. You stare at him as he reads. He suddenly looks up at you. His eyes go to your belly. Back up to your eyes. He doesn't look disgusted?
"Are you hurting?" He asks. You shake your head. "Are you sure this is real?" He asks, leaning towards you a bit. You nod your head. "Yer pregnant.. with.." he whispers, looking at your belly. "Your baby." You finish for him, meeting eyes.
Tumblr media
A few weeks later.. about 8 to be exact..
The lair was finally cleaned up and restored, which is good because the morning sickness hit you hard. You just lay and rested on the couch with a bucket, miserable. Mikey tried to cheer you up, but it didn't work. You just wanted this to be over. "Here, try this." You look up at Donnie offering you a small vile of liquid. You weakly grasp it, drinking it down. It only takes a few seconds to notice a great difference.
"Oh my God, Donnie.. thank you." You say quietly. You sit up, popping your back before standing and pulling down your pj shorts. Donnie gently leads you to the table where Mikey just sat down fresh pizza. As soon as you sit, you're pulled up again. You look up and meet eyes with Raphael, giving him a confused look. He places a pillow in your seat before sitting you back down. You can't help but smile. He's actually been really sweet towards you since..
"Yessss, gimme that sweet cheesey goodness!" Mikey says while digging in the pizza box. He passes the box around while Leo sits down, grabbing a slice. When you finish your second slice, you make a move to stand but Raph quickly puts his hand on your shoulder, holding you in place.
"Ya need'a eat more." He states, grabbing another slice and sitting it in front of you. You look from the slice, back up to him.
"I'm full." You simply say, earning a look from Raph.
"Baby aint." He says. You roll your eyes at him. "Just eat the damn pizza." He sighs. You also sigh, eating the slice. Maybe you weren't as full as you thought. "Don, you finish the thing so we can see the baby yet?" Raph asks, leaning back in his seat. The nerdy turtle swallows quickly, and smiles.
"In fact, I have. And I don't mean to brag, but I believe it's much more accurate than what you would get in a doctor's office." Donnie smiles. You're still getting prenatal care from an actual baby doctor, but extra care never hurts.
"Can I see the baby today?" You ask, getting nervous but excited as well. Donnie nods, mumbling an 'of course' as Mikey bounces in his seat.
"Dude, let me see the baby too!" Mikey shouts. You giggle at him.
"You can see, Mikey."
"After me." Raphael states harshly. You look up to him, raising a brow at his tone. He looks at you out of the corner of his eye. He chews his toothpick as he follows you to Donnie's lab, Mikey still sitting and finishing off the pizza with Leo. You lay on a long desk with a pillow behind your head as Donnie fools with the machine. Raphael towers over you, staring down at your belly before taking a seat, making him a bit above eye level with you. As the machine turns on, Donnie grabs a jelly like substance and raises your shirt. You don't miss Raph clenching his jaw.
"Okay, let's see.. female organs.." Donnie mumbles to himself as he rubs the jelly around your belly and presses a wand like thing to your lower belly. "AHA!" He shouts as an image pops up on the screen. Not entirely black and white. Not fuzzy, but clear.. "As if you're actually inside the womb, I knew it would be much more detailed." He says, proud of his invention. "Very strong heart rate. Seems developmentally on schedule. Aw, what a little shell." He coos, and you stare at the image. It really is Raph's baby.
"It's so small.." Raph says in awe, smiling at screen. Are his eyes watery?
Tumblr media
"Actually, it's measurements are a bit bigger than most at this gestational age." Donnie says casually, getting different angles of the baby. "Most likely from the father." Donnie states playfully with a glance at Raph. You've never seen him smile so big before, immediately bringing a calming feeling over you as you smiled, too.
"Does it look healthy?" You asks, biting your lip. Donnie nods, double checking the heart rate.
Raph was always there when you got an ultrasound from Donnie. He always smiled looking at the baby on the screen. He was always helpful.. except for this exact moment. You're almost 5 months pregnant, finally have a noticeable bump.
"Move." You state, looking up at the red clad turtle blocking the door. He moved all your stuff, including yourself, into his bedroom weeks ago during the worst part of the morning sickness. He would always follow you to the bathroom, holding your hair for you. (He insists on sleeping on the mattress in the floor while you take his bed.) You've been procrastinating on getting stretchier pants for a week or so, and you were going to go out and buy some now but..
"Ya aint leaving. It's not safe for you, yer vulnerable." Raph states, not even moving an inch while you're pushing him as hard as you can. "Ain't gonna getcha anywhere, shorty." You sigh.
"Raph, I need more pants. These aren't really fitting anymore!" You pout up at him. "I have to go get some! And more socks.." you say quietly as you remember.
"Call April, I'll pay 'er back for em." His rough voice is low as he looks down at you. You pout again, earning a smirk and eye roll from him.
"I need to get them myself, I can't have you buying everything for me-"
"Sure ya can, shorty." Raph cuts you off, wrapping an arm around your shoulders.
"You could just dress up and go with me.." you quietly suggest as he leads you into his gym, remembering when he went out in daylight in a disguise.
"Ya can just call April and stay ya ass here and stay safe." The irritation is clear in his voice. "Get some light cardio goin'." Raphael starts with his weights as you use the treadmill lightly, trying to stay healthy during this whole thing. You give into Raphael's 'suggestion' and ask April to get you some comfy maternity pants and clothes. She really is your best friend, and has stayed so supportive. When she arrives the next day your new wardrobe (she really went all out), you were so excited. Your favorite was a dark red sweater.
Tumblr media
After having girl time with April, and another ultrasound (which included Raph) because she hadn't seen the baby yet, you and her made a plan. "I hope they go for it." You say as you walk into the busy living area where all four turtles were playing video games.
"I swear to God yer fuckin cheatin!" Raph growls at Mikey as he cowers away from his older brother.
"Dude I'm not, you just suck!" Mikey says, running behind April and picking her up as a shield. Your giggle catches Raph's attention, but you don't see it.
"So guys! Why don't we go to the farmhouse for a few days? Give this girl some time outside." April suggests while giving you a side hug. Mikey immediately agrees, followed by Donnie. Leo is indifferent, really. He could take it or leave it. Raph seems unsure.
"Please?" You beg, walking to where he now sits at the kitchen table. You're barely above his eye level with him sitting and you standing by his side.
"Dunno if it's gonna be safe." He states, drinking his orange crush. You sigh, putting your arms around his large shoulders.
"Pleeeeeease? Everyone's gonna be there, it'll be safe." You beg. He grunts in response. You squeeze him a bit, whispering a quiet 'please' while leaning your head against his. You hear a 'come on, Raph' from Donnie. You nuzzle him lightly while Mikey tells him to 'dude, it'll be fine'. Even April throws in a 'itll be fun'. You give a final pout as he caves.
"If ya really wanna go.." he says lowly. You smile so big and kiss his cheek, thanking him before you rush to go pack. You completely miss the blush on his face, but everyone else sees it.
"You really love her, dontcha dude?" Mikey asks casually, softly. Raph grunts and nods. "You can totally tell her." He suggests.
"Look at me, Mikey. I'm a freak. She's beautiful. And she's stuck havin' my kid. She never wanted that.. ain't gonna make it worse for her." Raph sighs through his nose before going to the gym to work through his negative feelings.

The Basement Pt. 2
Sorry that this took for fucking ever I apparently cant manage time
Warnings: death mention, animal sacrifice mention, murder mention, broken bones, blood mention
If I didnt tag something please let me know
~
Jack, Smalls, and Tex were waiting for Spot and Race at the top of the steps. Well, the ones that lead to downstairs.
“Can we go to the kitchen first? I wanna see what it looks like,” Smalls didn’t wait for an answer. She was already headed to the kitchen. On the counter was a kitchen knife. Time had rusted it and it was fragile, but still as sharp as ever. You could cut a man with that.
“It was said that one of the owners performed witchcraft in here,” Race grabbed the knife and swung it around a bit, “they sacrificed cats, dogs, rabbits, anything really. Ya think they used this knife?” Smalls shuddered and shook her head.
“This is a house of psychopaths. Who would do such a thing to such innocent creatures?” Smalls shook her head and opened a few cabinets. Spices, ingredients and cook books that looked like they were about to fall apart. Smalls grabbed one of the books and tucked it under her arm.
“Ready for the basement?” Jack asked. Smalls nodded and followed Spot and Jack to the stairs. Taking a deep breath, Race carefully climbed down the steps. He wasn’t that nervous before. But the creaky stairs, the house settling, the eerie wind, and the fact that many people died here just didn’t sit right.
Glass shards crunched and cracked as Race stepped on them. The downstairs didn’t look any better than the upstairs. Everything was dusty. It was so dark that even with the flashlights Race could barely see. It was much colder too. Like, way colder. How was it this cold? Race was wearing a long sleeve shirt and a hoodie, so what the fuck?
In one of the corners was a dark stain. The closer Race got just confirmed what Race was thinking.
“Y’know, one of the owners had a sister who was like insane,” Race commented, staring at the dark red stain. “The owner treated her like crap. She was confined to her room, fed once a day, and never had human contact. When she was let out, he would have a rope tied to one of her wrists and he would walk her around the garden like an animal on a leash.”
“That’s sick,” Tex shook her head.
“One day he forgot to lock her door, though,” Race continued, not looking away from the stain. “And, she got out. She went ballistic. Grabbed a knife from the kitchen, chased him down here, and stabbed him in the chest, the neck, and the stomach. Then she practically gutted him. He died right over here.” The stain was blood. His blood. Race sighed and shuffled over to the rest of them, and looked around.
There was a door. A big, thick, wooden door. A door that definitely went to the basement. It had at least three locks on it. After all, they did keep a human being down there. Race thought of everything that possibly happened to her. The maid probably didn’t even push Mary, but they blamed her anyway. Forcefully shoved down a flight of stairs while crying, screaming that you didn’t do it. Having no human contact, no breath of fresh air, no food, no water, no sunlight. Race would go insane.
Jack pushed and pulled on the door. It didn’t budge. Tex, Smalls, and Jack pushed and pulled, pushed and pulled. Nothing.
“Did you try to, oh I don't know, unlock the door?” Race asked, stepping forward and unlocking two of them. The third one was stuck. “A little help here.” Spot pushed on the door, so did Jack and Tex. Finally, the door opened and Race fell forwards, tumbling down the steps. He landed on the cold, hard ground with a thud. Race groaned and pushed himself up onto his arms.
“Holy shit, are you ok?” Jack asked, giving Race a hand to pull himself up with. Race grabbed Jack’s hand, stood up, and winced. His ankle didn’t feel right. It hurt, like someone had sat on it it or something. Race grabbed his ankle and pulled his knee to his chest.
“Jacky, I think I broke my ankle,” Race winced.
“Medda’s gonna kill me,” Jack sighed, helping Race up.
“Hey guys, whats that?” Tex asked, pointing over to a shape a few feet away. She turned on the flashlight on her phone and slowly approached. Limping, Race hobbled over to see what Tex was talking about. There was… it was a human skeleton?
“Oh my god, it’s the maid,” Race whispered. He yelped when someone grabbed his shoulder, only to find out that it was Smalls. Race shrugged and bent town to grab one of the bones.
“Please don’t touch the human remains,” Smalls sighed. “It’s very unsanitary and it’s probably cursed.” Race shrugged and gently touched the skull. Then, the flashlight on Tex’s phone went out.
“That’s weird,” she said, smacking her phone with her hand. “It’s not even dead yet. 92% battery life.”
“It’s the curse,” Race laughed. Smalls punched his shoulder. “Whatever, it probably just can’t handle how cold it is down here.” Race wanted to keep his cool, but he was terrified. He wanted to get out of there and never look back at it ever again. Something about this place scared him to no end.
He picked up the skull, examining it. A brick fell out of the wall and onto the remains. Then another, then another. Tex and Smalls jumped back, but Race fell onto his back and struggled to get up. The pain in his ankle was almost to much to bare. Someone grabbed his waist and pulled him away from the collapsing wall. He kicked his legs, hitting whoever grabbed him. Fight or flight reflexes aren’t helpful when you’re hitting the person trying to help you.
Soon the whole wall was collapsing. The bricks had fallen over the remains, shattering them. What was left was a dirt wall, and a small hole dug into it.
“I’m not waiting to find out what’s in there,” Tex shook her head, already climbing the rickety old stairs. Smalls and Jack climbed up after her. Race tried to walk towards the stairs, but forgot someone was holding his waist. Logically speaking, he knew who the person was. It was the only one of his friends left. Spot. He shifted Race around in his arms until he was carrying Race bridal style. Race shrugged and went along with it.
Jack grabbed the door handle and started to tug on it. Then he pulled. It wouldn’t open. He blamed it on the door being old and rusted. Tex and Smalls had to help him. The downstairs was slightly warmer than the basement. Slightly. Everything was as it should have been. Something wasn’t right.
“Your flashlight work now?” Jack asked, looking over Tex’s shoulder as she tried to turn the flashlight on. Her phone was on and working just fine, but the flashlight was refusing to turn on. And it was dark. What if there was someone trying to murder them? Nah, that wouldn’t happen. Only in terrible horror movies. And, this isn’t a terrible horror movie.
“Nope,” Tex sighed. “I wonder why. My phone’s not dead, so it should-” she was cut off by a loud banging noise. The five of them froze, and a silence fell on the group. There was another bang. Then another, then another. Each was about five seconds apart, and it sounded like it was coming from upstairs.
“We should- we need to go,” Smalls slowly began to walk back up to the steps. There was another noise, this time coming from the basement. Smalls walked a bit faster. Race couldn’t do much. Spot was carrying him and his ankle was jacked. It wasn’t all bad though. He didn’t have to walk and Spot was walking quickly, so they wouldn't get murdered.
The basement door slowly opened. None of them were gonna stick around to find out why. Everyone was running. Everyone except Race. He couldn't! His foot hurt to bad to move, so Spot was the only chance he had making it out of there alive.
Suddenly, there was a high pitched shriek and a cold breeze coming from the basement. And they sure as hell weren’t gonna stick around to find out what it was. They ran as fast as they could possibly go, Tex almost tripped up the steps. Race didn’t want to get dropped, so he had his left arm around his shoulder and the other one pressed against Spot’s chest. He really didn’t want to get dropped.
Spot tripped and Race closed his eyes tight. When he didn’t hit the ground, he was confused, but he didn’t open his eyes. He didn’t want to open them and see a murderous clown about to eat his soul.
The air seemed to be a bit colder. Race could hear his friends panting and trying to catch their breaths. He could feel Spot’s heart pound against his chest, and hear the shorter boy gasping for air.
“Race you can- you can open your eyes,” Jack gently shook Race’s shoulder. Hesitantly, Race opened his eyes. They were on the street just in front of the woods that hid the house from view. The stars were shining brightly above them, and he could hear the wind blowing. It was late, so most kids would be back at home and in bed.
“Can we just like- can we go home?” Smalls asked. “Please?” Jack nodded.
“What about you two? You goin home or ya wanna stay over?” Jack asked, looking back and forth between Tex and Spot. Tex shrugged.
“I don't really know,” she shrugged, “the doors probably locked. And I kinda… don’t want to go home after that. I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep.”
“Ya can come hang out with us,” Smalls grinned. “I don’t really wanna be alone either, and we have Netflix! And Jack’s window is always unlocked, so we can go through his window.” Tex and Smalls started talking about what they could watch, and looking through the book Smalls picked up from the house. Despite being terrified, Race found himself getting sleepier everytime Spot took a step. Maybe it would be better if he did go to sleep. Well, he didn’t really have a choice. In a matter of seconds, he fell asleep in Spot's arms.
