Reading your fics and the funniest idea came into my brain. Grima causes a zombie apocalypse by accident and joins up with Chrom, Lissa, Frederick, and the shepherds (who are survivors) to try to seem innocent but his knowledge of how zombies work makes Frederick get suspicious. Its just some shit like "Oh no dont worry about getting bitten, theyre insects" "How do you know theyre insects" "uuuh i like botany."

Oh, how fortunate, this one still has its mask intact. That means I should be able to control it...

—Wait, not in front of the Shepherds!

Cue Grima pretending he has NO idea what's going on with this one particular Risen that keeps showing up and being helpful. Frederick, of course, is suspicious of both it and the fact that Grima's plans all assume it will continue helping them and not go wild zombie like the others

#okay but now i'm thinking of how this apocalypse could have started #and like... you know how in awakening there are the revenant/entombed kind of risen and then there are the risen who look like humans? #well i'm thinkng that maybe there was an outbreak of the revenant/entombed kind... #and grima thought he could destroy them with his own reanimated dead people #but any time their masks break he loses control of the thanatophages #and who would have guessed it but fighting zombies tends to cause things to break #so now there are risen who turn you into risen and then there are risen who simply destroy you entirely in their bloodlust #and grima is the only one who understands which kind is which #and he also can't be like 'the ones with masks are good' because they're actually only good if grima is around #if chrom runs into one on his own he'll die (VERY bad. grima has... feelings) #and this would all go so much better if grima would just be open with the others... #but for the first time he isn't alone in the world and he can't bear for his new friends to hate him like everyone else he's ever known has #so things just keep getting worse as grima scrambles for control of a situation he was actually never going to be able to handle alone #ask
