Hex polycule (Bryce, Rust, Lazarus, Chandrelle) thoughts?????

*cracks knuckles* hcs time babey! All under the cut bc it's a long post

Lazarus and Chandrelle were obviously the first ones in the polycule to catch feelings since they've been friends the longest, liking each other during SoL but neither actually properly doing anything about it

Since Chandrelle and Bryce were at the inn the longest though, they had plenty of time to bond. Nothing romantic, but boredom led to them opening up to each other about a lot, both of them disguising it as just casual chatter when it's like "Yeah aha I punched my grandma while trying to punch Irving and now she's permanently injured" "Oh cool Irving tried to fucking murder me"

Rust is the third one to come to the inn, and Bryce is making plenty of attempts to talk to the poor guy, despite Rust being a huge weirdo. Chandrelle wanted to stay out of it, but Bryce kept insisting the three of them sit together to chat

Then when Lazarus finally comes along, things are. A little awkward between him and Chandrelle for a bit. Understandable, given what happened the last time they saw each other

Bryce has heard plenty about Lazarus though, and welcomes him with open arms, happily introducing himself. And once again, as the extrovert, Bryce has Lazarus sit with the trio

Though with things still weird with Laz and Chan, Bryce decides that it'd be best if Laz sits with Rust to keep him company, since neither Laz nor Rust have a super high social battery. So basically Bryce accidentally got all the seating arrangements set up bc adding on, FPP and SWK had no tables to sit at, only left with the bar

So Laz and Rust chat a bit when they're both feeling up for it. Rust can't remember much thanks to the mind control serum, and Lazarus has a lot of repressed memories thanks to trauma, so most chats are about simpler things. Favourite foods, fighting techniques, stuff like that. Rust ends up learning a lot about sword terminology

Post game, Laz and Chandrelle finally properly talk about everything that happened, since everyone can now go anywhere they please again. Small argument, but it's more of just Lazarus having no one else to get angry at now that Irving's dead

They kinda sorta awkwardly hug it out, but none of their prior hugs have been super duper comfortable anyways thanks to Chandrelle's people issues anyways, so it feels more like home than Lazarus would care to admit

Meanwhile, with the MC serum wearing off, Bryce is helping Rust with his Rocky issues. The bonding leads to Rust developing feelings, not that he's emotionally stable enough to acknowledge that nor act out on it

Bryce also does his best to bond more with Laz, having been curious about him for quite some time now. Laz is a bit confused by all the questions, but answers them the best to his ability.

Bryce pretty much starts setting up proper time for him to hang out with the three of them. He drags Chandrelle into cooking/baking with him ("Maybe it could help with your anger issues?" "I don't fucking have anger issues!"), he and Lazarus work out together (nothing intense or anything, just simple stuff), and basically just having a book club type thing with Rust (Which also leads to them figuring out that Rust very badly needs fuckin glasses)

Sometimes the hangouts overlap. Rust will help Bryce and Chandrelle cook, Lazarus will invite Chandrelle to work out with him and Bryce, and Lazarus will go sit with Bryce and Rust so he can read with them.

Lazarus accidentally tells Bryce and Rust during reading time that he's had a long-time crush on his best friend, which even an idiot could figure out is Chandrelle, and Bryce encourages him to go for it. Well then lazarus starts talking abt how he'd feel bad, because he doesnt wanna leave Bryce and Rust for Chandrelle

Which also serves as an accidental confession to the both of them

It takes a lot of talking about it, especially since Rust's still a bit emotionally stunted and Lazarus is very, very new to romance despite the long time crush, but it basically becomes a case of "Let's go kidnap Chandrelle into the newly formed polycule"

Chandrelle's a lil hesitant at first, being even more emotionally stunted than Rust, so they all agree to take it slowly. Small dates, like going out for walks or Bryce cooking everyone dinner, stuff like that. They slowly ease into more romantic stuff

It takes Rust and Chandrelle the longest out of everyone to start doing anything romantic, both from a lack of a close bond and also emotional constipation.

Bryce convinces them to hang out more, so they do. Rust gets to learn more about Chandrelle's magic, though he doesn't really understand it at all, no matter how many times Chandrelle explains it to him

Luckily, she's moronsexual. Exhibit A: Lazarus

They basically only end up properly getting together because they both start accidentally talking about emotional stuff without realizing. And it was like "...Ah okay guess we can kiss or whatever :/"

They take turns with who's on the outside and who's on the inside of cuddle piles. Though the most frequent order is Rust > Bryce > Lazarus > Chandrelle

Lazarus also isn't invited to help out in the kitchen. Hes mistaken salt for sugar and vice versa at least ten times each. He burnt an oven mitt by placing it directly on top of a hot stove ring. He accidentally knocked over a beer bottle right into a hot, greasy pan. He didn't take offence to being kicked out.

Chandrelle has made it her life mission to get Rust to shave. She's failing.

And finally, they all use a weighted blanket when they're cuddling. Rust likes the extra pressure because he got used to sleeping in heavy armour, Bryce just likes being warm, Lazarus has the neurodivergent crave to get his bones crushed, and Chandrelle needs to be kept down so she doesnt have a complex kick in and try to run off

A ship I have with said character: STORMBLEEZE! i think theyre really tragic and i love their dynamic. i think that chandrelle developed feelings for lazarus along the way right before they fucked up legendaria while he had already had them but didn't realize how she felt until it was too late. they have alot of unfinished business and i like to think that they begin working it out post game

A BROTP I have with said character: bryce and chandrelle. idk i just think that they should talk about their experiences together. chandrelle's happy to have someone who gets it and doesnt know much about her SoL days, while bryce is still incredibly grateful for her being partially the reason to why he got out of combat arena x in the first place

A NOTP I have with said character: my friend (hi nico) has an interpretation of chandrelle x vallamir that i genuinely love (freaks of legendaria my goat) however outside of her hcs for them i dont really dig it

A random headcanon: even after getting out of caX, she's still relatively muscular and DEFINITELY very physically strong. you saw how easily she could throw down w/ irving. she can pick up lazarus with relative ease even with all of the armor (it awakened something in him the first time she did it)

General Opinion over said character: one of the most fascinating characters from the game. i love her, i love the commentary associated with her. chandrelle my beloved <3

Someone flirting with Reader hc’s 

Lionel: 

Due to his insecurities he’s the jealous type. 

Lionel knows that you’re capable of telling someone off but he feels like he has to say something. 

He probably does the whole “do you know who I am!?” spiel. He doesn’t have much confidence in his physical capabilities so he tries to use his fame.

He is not afraid to tell someone to fuck off which has caused some drama online a couple of times. 

Carla: 

If you’re fine on your own Carla will let you take care of it. She’ll be cheering you on from the sidelines.

If you signal that you want her help she’ll try to deal with it as non confrontational as possible. She’ll find some sort of excuse to get you away from the person bothering you.

If they keep pushing she’s going to become very passive aggressive.

Much like Sado, she’s the queen of saying the most threatening things with a smile on her face. 

Reggie: 

Reggie doesn’t get jealous easily because he feels secure in the relationship he has with you. 

But if you want him to step in he will. He’s also very passive aggressive but he will cover it up by pretending he didn’t mean anything by it.

“Oh was that rude? I apologize, I guess people were more honest in my times.” 

Also he’s extremely petty so he’s just going to do very small things to piss off the person who’s flirting with you. He just loves playing mind games with people. 

Jeremiah:

Jeremiah does get jealous easier but he hesitates to do something about it. 

What he ends up doing most of the time is ignoring the person who’s flirting with you while putting himself between them and you. 

He doesn’t like feeling jealous so it’s going to be hard to get him to admit he was. 

Although with how subtle he is you’re the only one who notices.

Chef Bryce: 

After Combat Arena X, Bryce tries to avoid physical conflict as much as possible.

He doesn’t get jealous but he doesn’t like anyone making you uncomfortable. He ignores the other person and asks if you’re okay before he does anything else.

If the person is being pushy he’ll just ignore them or kindly tell them to back off.

In times like this he’s grateful for having an intimidating appearance because hopefully that’ll scare off whoever is bothering you.

Lazarus: 

Lazarus gets jealous but is really casual about it. He’s just like Bryce in the sense that he doesn’t like dealing with unnecessary confrontation. 

If this is happening in Vicious Galaxy then he’ll lightly scold whoever is bothering you and tell them to stay focused on the mission. 

He’s very blunt with his words and he speaks with a straight face that can seem intimidating but it’s really just because he’s tired. 

Definitely not afraid to physically reprimand someone but he doesn’t take it too far.

Chandrelle: 

Chandrelle is very open about her relationship with you so most people know not to cause you trouble. 

But the unfortunate soul who does pester you is going to face your girlfriend’s wrath. 

She’s not afraid to fight someone but she’ll try using her words to ward them off because she doesn’t want to scare you. 

This girl has a lot of pent up anger so her words will probably be enough to make whoever was bothering you question their life choices. 

Sado: 

Oh boy. 

Now no one is foolish enough to trying anything when she’s by your side. Even if they don’t know who she is her presence is enough to make people uncomfortable.

If someone does start bothering you she’s going to be very passive aggressive and she doesn’t even try to hide it. 

She ends up having fun just making the person uncomfortable with her teasing. She’s so silly. 

Irving: 

If someone is bothering you then they’re bothering him. 

I think we all know that someone is going to get beat up. He gets jealous very easily and is naturally a very defensive person. 

If it bothers you he’ll try to keep his temper under control but it’s not going to be easy. Once you’re close to him it’s easy to tell that his ego might be big but it’s also fragile. 

But you probably won’t have to worry about someone flirting with you while he’s around or else they’re going straight to Vicious Galaxy.

First Person Perspective: 

He’s probably the least jealous out of everyone. He looks intimidating but in reality he can’t really do much. 

He focuses more on making sure that you’re okay and how he can make you feel comfortable after going through a situation like that. 

The most he can do is wrap an arm around your shoulder while the person is bothering you. It’s not him trying to be malicious, it’s just his way of trying to say you’re not available.

He really cares about you but he doesn’t get jealous because he doesn’t care about other people.

Rust McClain: 

Before everything happened with Sado he was pretty chill about it. He doesn’t treat it as any sort of competition and is even friendly to the person bothering you. 

“I don’t blame you for trying to shoot your shot, but we’re really happy together. I’m sure you’ll find the one who’s meant for you.” 

Despite his friendliness he isn’t a pushover. If they keep pestering you he’s going to get a little meaner because he doesn’t want anyone disrespecting you.

After everything that happens with Sado he’s doesn’t get more jealous but he is more paranoid. 

Rebecha:

Rebecha is not going to make a deal out of it.

She’s a very casual person so most people won’t know that you two are dating. She doesn’t even mention that to the person flirting with you. She just tells them that you wouldn’t be interested. 

Even if she doesn’t get jealous she still wants to protect you and has no problem with being a temporary bodyguard. 

She lets you handle it on your own but stays close by just in case.

So Rebecha and Super Weasel Kid never met, but Rebecha knows about him because of Walk, and SWK doesn’t even know she exists. HOWEVER. If they did meet, they would have this ‘wine aunt and prankster nephew’ dynamic like “yo can I borrow this dangerous thing for a prank?” “take it and leave me alone. (finally something interesting will happen)”

She met Mr. Squarell once in Secrets of Legendaria and they very much relate to each other.

Rebecha hates Irving with every pixel of her being. He hates her too. They can’t be in a single room together without beating the shit out of each other. Anyways that’s why she’s so rebellious and wants to get the fuck out of Gameworks/Gamefuna. Because the workplace is shit.

She gets along very well with Bryce, she listens to his stories from the Cooking Granny series and he taught her a few things about cooking/baking!

Wizarro is her best friend. Bestest friend she ever had. She tells him everything from gossips to personal stuff and he’s always there for her if she needs comfort. He’s too pure for this world T-T oh and also they paint each other’s nails

also she didn’t really talk to the other fighters in Combat Arena X but she had this rivalry with Shinobee and Alley Gator-

And while we’re talking about ships. Chandrelle. basically i headcanon that she was in a polycule with them 👉👈 but she broke up with them, mostly on good terms tho.

There’s Lazarus…she tolerates him. Lazarus doesn’t really know if she dislikes him or not because she always has that deadpan expression and mostly monotone voice so he chooses his words carefully around her. But she’s really chill.

Rebecha somehow befriended Jack, the Sphinx’s servant. They understand each other. And he teases her by calling her Rebecca on purpose. That’s pretty much it. Also Wizarro always shushes him whenever he’s about to say a curse word. Everyone actually. Just because.

Rebecha tried to flirt with the village girl once and only got a death stare in return.

talked to Jay once or twice and dipped.

she was the one that told baby Junior that his dad won’t come back and then he had to be hugged for an hour.

Rust is like a father figure to her. More or less. He gives her headpats. But Rocky is more like a nephew.

She pretends that Dustbowl Danny and The Vurm don’t exist. Take that as you will.

Rebecha views FPP as just acquaintances, but they view her as a friend. Rebecha tells stories or vents to them and FPP gets to do the same (in sign language). Both of them are glad that someone actually listens to them.

She’d find Catarina and she would tell Rebecha to “break up with that clown freak” and Rebecha wouldn’t give a shit

o yea she saw Jeremiah sneaking into the boat, she didn’t think much of it.

ok now Lionel Snill…her feelings about him are complicated. Like she knows that he probably has no idea that his characters are sentient and that Irving basically abuses them but at the same time she resents him. And then in Walk she just facepalms at hearing his story.

Like I said before, Bryce invites El to help him cook a lot! He often lets El decide what they make, since he wants to give El the freedom to make their own choices, even if it's something as small as picking between pizza and pasta

El wants a fucking mouth so he can kiss Bryce so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so SO bad

And also so they can tell Bryce he loves him!! The cue cards and sign language aren't enough, he wants to just proclaim their love to Bryce!!!

He's a hopeless romantic if you couldn't tell

El fell fast and hard for Bryce, and the crush only grew from there

Whereas for Bryce, after bonding with them a bit, it was a small thing at first. Hanging out with El more made the crush grow, though

El started leaving 'anonymous' love letters for Bryce. I write anaonymous like that bc at this point, Bryce KNOWS El's handwriting. But he enjoys reading the letters so he lets it go on for a bit. And also he never really has a good moment to bring it up without risking embarrassing El

Luckily, El eventually hands Bryce one of the love letters themself, seeing this as a proper confession

And as Bryce suspected, El's embarrassed to know Bryce knew the entire time

Since the two can't properly kiss, and El can't give Bryce kisses at all, Bryce is constantly plastering El's face with kisses, whereas El holds his hand a lot and taps out 'I love you' on the back of Bryce's hand just as often

They cook together so much that dinner dates just kinda feel like regular dinners, so they do pretty much everything else! They go on walks, visit anywhere special in the Gameworks universe, stuff like that.

They've had to get Jeremiah or Lazarus to fly them to a couple special spots for special occasions thanks to distance. Both of them hate third wheeling so they're constantly trying to hand the job off to each other

El's also big on gift giving! Probably a habitual thing given the trophy and whatnot, but still. Bryce is more of a 'show affection through words and actions' kinda guy

El dragged Chandrelle into one of his antics once, which was. Giving them a temporary mouth via her magic so he could kiss Bryce

Pretty much everyone in the inn has had to third wheel at some point. Sometimes they're all third wheeling if El and Bryce are being affectionate in the main room

Finally, El's a little prone to nightmares thanks to his connection to Lionel (Whether it be fearing the group will resent him, nightmares based on Lionel's memories/fears, or just a nightmare about having to listen to that damn venting again, his nightmares are typically related to Lionel), so Bryce calms him down every time. He doesn't mind, and Bryce is really good at comforting people, so 99% of the time it works. 1% of the time is just if the nightmare was THAT bad

i just realized why sado was in the npc jail despite being a playable character in combat arena x, she isnt there because of combat arena x but instead shes there because of what she did in waste world.

Tbh in hindsight i think regardless of npc status Irving wouldve thrown her in there anyways. They dont seem to really have a playable character jail given the fact that neither Chandrelle nor Lazarus get tossed in there (or bryce for that matter if punching an innocent npc is such an offence). Im imagining it was like
