But only a couple and their third wheel drinking. And then Murray makes a mess and Jocye and Hopper have to save him. In short, a story of their friendship

Hey anon! I really love the adults too. They are my absolute favorite characters! I love this odd little friendship they have all formed. I definitely agree with you that there isn't nearly enough fic about the adults or their friendship.

I have tried my hand at writing many years ago but I am not very good at it. So I stick with meta and posting thoughts. I'd like to get back into gifing though. I miss doing that. Did a lot of that when I watched major crimes. What about you anon? Have you thought about writing for the adults?

I think my second favorite dynamic on the show is between Joyce and Murray. They are strange besties/sibling like vibe, but seem to work really well because of the way that their minds work. Murray didn't really seem to like anyone at first but seems to have bonded really well with Joyce. She's very determined and doesn't let anyone push her around. So I really love when she tells him off when they first meet. He just immediately is like ok you're in charge.

That would be a toss-up between Jon/Martin and Gertrude/Agnes from The Magnus Archives. One is canon, the other is non-canon and weirdly dysfunctional (surprise!), although Gertrude and Agnes are canonically soul-bonded, which is part of the weird dysfunction bit. Jon and Martin are just sort of cute, but with dysfunctional elements because of petty humanity and also the fact they live in a crapsack world, poor babies.

I tend to prefer ships, but still, Kirk and Spock? I don't tend to seek out smut for them, even when I'm reading ship fic. It's all about the emotional dynamic, and the canon gen dynamic is pretty good to me. I feel the same, to a lesser degree, about Starsky and Hutch whom I have sought out, and written, smut for. I prefer them as a ship, but I can imagine them as best friends forever, sitting around a barbecue (sorry, my US friends, I mean grill) with their kids and their very forbearing wives, shooting the shit until the end of their hopefully very long lives.

Basically any time Danny or Steve saves one another on H50

When Hutch goes on a rage spree to bring down the man who put a hit out on Starsky and nearly succeeded in killing him

When Stonebridge was trying to keep Scott alive in the wilderness after their helicopter crashed and Scott got shot by the guys chasing them

When Gibbs touches the side of McGee’s face after an explosion and he realizes he has a big ol’ piece of glass sticking out of his side on NCIS

When Speed dies on CSI: Miami and Horatio is at his side begging him to just hold on

Mac and Flack in the hospital while Mac begs Don to squeeze his hand to show that he’s going to be ok and wake up in CSI: NY.  

And finishing up the CSI vein, Grissom and Nick as they’re working to get him out of the grave he’s buried in.

Sam and Deeks finally understanding one another and coming to a mutual respect after being tortured.

My otp for starsky and hutch is definitely starsky/hutch :’))) that’s at least 60% of the reason I started watching the show haha (just like with mfu), I’m not sure who my favourite character is.. I started off liking hutch the most, but starsky is definitely growing on me because he’s so fluffy and soft (both his hair and his personality), whereas hutch has had some moments where he was kind of an ass :’).. so now idk, I guess I kinda like both equally but in different ways.. I also like the other characters captain dobey and huggy bear a lot, so far I don’t hate any of the main/recurring characters which is nice :))))

I’m picking due south if only because that show has more actual main/recurring characters and therefore ship possibilities in the first place lol (for mfu I kinda only have an otp (which you know).. idk what to pick for brotp, and notp would be illya/any girl ever I guess?):
