@kayleigh-83 posting Brightmaple's new retirement home reminded me that I did, in fact, want to take another crack at building my own again. I think I'd rather live in Kayleigh's tbh, it looks nicer

I built it in the center of town (not that you can see), as opposed to the last one on the outskirts. It's built with dorm doors, and I use BoilingOil's dorm key mod with it. There are currently five suites, and a big empty space on the second floor that I just left closed off because I'm not sure what I'd like to put there yet. Outside there's a lovely, sunny patio with a pool and hot tub, chess tables, vegetable garden, and a telescope for Knowledge sims/spying on the neighbors..

This lot feels huge to me. Fingers crossed for no pink flashing when I get around to moving people in. The small room on the first floor, bottom right, is intended for a Servo caretaker. I might have Clove take the role eventually, or else a new Servo.

Back at home, Octavia wasn't exactly doing anything educational. She had spotted townie Gabriel Harmon walking past her house and had quickly rushed out to ask him inside. Teen dance party! This is very unlike her usually shy self!

(A huge thanks to @keoni-chan for Gabriel! Although I had told myself when I started this BACC that I wouldn't borrow so many of other Simmer's Sims, I had a population explosion this round and was in dire need of a batch of townies to replace those that had become playables. I downloaded him, Benjamin Weekes, Evelyn Burkett and Ava DeLuna, all from Keoni's wonderful Angler's Bay BACC, and aged some of them down to teens. If you haven't read Angler's Bay, go do it now - it's so good!)

After Hob'rth and Bethany arrived home from work, their mysterious new arrival appeared on their doorstep.

She put her backpack down, took a deep breath to ready herself and then knocked on the door.

Hob'rth immediately welcomed the stranger in with a hug. Her name was Estelle Blondeau and she was excited to be starting her life in another new town!

(More thanks are due! I'm a big fan of both @kayleigh-83's Brightmaple and @rena-sims Redsborough. I've watched Estelle grow up and grow old in Kayleigh's Brightmaple and then, more recently, I saw her become an exchange student in Rena's Redsborough and I decided I wanted her in Wildflats as well! If she hadn't been an exchange student, she would have been a townie at the very least! So a huge thanks to both creators for the inspiration and for the Sim! Go read their (sort of) BACCs as well!)

P.S. Apologies to Kayleigh if she's not exactly the same as she was in Brightmaple but I couldn't remember/find her stats!

Hob'rth called the rest of the family into the lounge to welcome their new house guest. Bethany gathered Estelle into a warm hug as well.

*I read @kayleigh-83 BaCC Brightmaple (which is absolutely worth reading!!) and she uses Sophie the Puffin's aspiration calculator, which calculates the aspirations based on the sim's personality and interests.

Previously I randomly rolled the aspirations, which is totally impersonal. When I read about the calculator, I had to try it out right away. And I have to say, I think it's really good. From now on, I will use the calculator for all my Sims who grow up into teens. 😊

Ronald started up a new business downtown, a noodle shop called Noble Izakaya.

I figured out soon after playing it that the ticket machine wasn't necessary, and that running a business with the BV food stands is super easy and pretty fun!

I was missing them having a dog around the house after Wafer passed away, so there’s now a new member of the family. Meet Cookie! Unbelievably, the Wafer/Cookie naming theme was completely accidental. I just liked the name and realized after it paired perfectly. A true successor!

She’s settling in (mostly) well!

WIP exterior of a house I built this week and love! I got brave with the terrain tools, meaning I raised the back corner of this lot like 4-6 clicks and smoothed out the edges and covered them with plants :) :) :) But it gives it character I think.

The inside isn’t furnished yet, no idea if I will do that soon or not until next round when I get back around to playing the Sim whose house this is! I can tell you it’s a good witch here, so I wanted it to have a bit of a woodland cottage feel. I’m so in love with it so far!

I also built this house and then realized some time the next day (while nowhere near my computer) that I should have used those awnings I converted on this house, and I set a reminder on my phone to do it when I was home... Sims on the brain, always.

Anya became a witch this round thanks to ROS, but it also feels like it fits well with her vibe as I see it, so I think I'll keep it. I base the alignment on their niceness points, so Anya is a good witch!

Some of the excess space in the yard got used to build her a witchy little cottage for all her witchy doings.
