Harmony

Kate has a few choice words for Anthony - 2x07

Standing behind the marble statue of the intertwined couple, Kate watched her sister who used to look at her with the greatest love, walk away, a shadow of her former self.

But then Anthony approached her. She would welcome him, usually but not today. Not for a while anyway.

"We kissed," Anthony whispered, a wistful smile on his lips.

"We did not kiss. You were my sister's betrothed, there is no world in which we could have kissed," Kate responded.

He did not look remorseful in the slightest, more annoyed that she did not acknowledge their kiss.

He had no idea what he has done Kate thought to herself. What they did was terrible and yet, he seemed to view it as a mere inconvenience.

She stormed away from him, going outside but he followed. He always followed.

"Are you quite serious?" Anthony hissed, pulling her behind a large collum, so they were out of view, "You told me to marry her-"

"Me?" Kate scoffed, shaking her head, "I was not the one in charge here. Not at any point. You had every opportunity to cease your courtship with Edwina, to be honest with her-"

"As you were honest with her?" He snapped, unable to help himself. He regretted the words as soon as they left his mouth because he watched her grow further enraged, clutching her bag tighter.

"That is not the same. I sought to protect her. You sought to use her for your own selfish gain. The Viscount who wanted the Diamond. And now, she no longer believes in love." Kate snapped, "I shall be lucky if she speaks to me again."

"You treat all women as if we are pawns. Is it my low born status that entitles you to me? My body? My sister's inexperience that made you believe you had a right to lie to her?" Kate questioned. She nearly laughed when he did not reply, unable to look her in the eyes.

She sniffled, taking a deep breath controlling herself, "No one has ever made me feel shame as you do." The way her voice broke cut Anthony deep, in a place he did not think

"You have torn my sister apart and now you seek to do the same to me. I will not allow it. We will go through with the plan our mamas have made and we shall never cross paths again." Kate said defiantly, "If you still believe you are an honourable man - which I doubt you are - you will do this."

Anthony shut his mouth, allowing her to walk away. It would take more than a mere ball for him to fix what he had broken.
