Shadowsinger and the Inkbird is so heartachingly beautiful, talk about a slow slow burn of soulmates, I think I re read their hug scene maybe 10 times at the very least and then we go right back into the angst,,,,,,Az is going to have to re learn to hold her 🥺🥺🥺 but seriously, this story is so well written and I am so excited to continue reading! Hikari makes her own weaponry routinely-- since they're Stand-constructs, they can harm other Stands. She rarely uses it for that, though. Hikari is a fan of direct action, ie. fighting in-tandem with her Stand rather than having Mother Nature's Son fight exclusively on her behalf. Honestly, Stand users hardly expect any opponent to just pull a knife, (regular) gun, or baseball bat on them. It's really funny to also just walk up to someone while they're mid-monologue and just punch them in the throat, weapon or no weapon.

I’ve recovered slightly from todays medical episode but it flares up with the smallest endeavor. Even still, I couldn’t help but share this cute picture of Mandana posing with her shoe collection.

You can get this organizer for about $6USD on Amazon and it holds shoes up to 3” in width. Its 4 across and 4 down, so it’s perfect for puppy shoes and the quality is nicer than the price would suggest.

Here is the link for my favorite mesh dog shoes from my recent shoe review. I haven’t had them for very long but I have a lot of experience with Ruffwear shoes and I feel comfortable recommending these as a replacement for the Ruffwear Grip Trex. They have a lot of nice qualities and in someways are even better. I don’t plan on buying Ruffwear shoes anymore and will only buy HC Pet shoes #notsponsored

For reference, Mandana wears HCPets size 7 in the front & a size 6 in the back (or a 3” & 2.75” in Ruffwear). Having the organizer makes it a lot easier to keep the different brands, colors & sizes separate so I can easily grab the ones I want depending on what activity we will be doing. Just keep in mind that the plastic will trap moisture so make sure the shoes are left out to fully dry before storing them in the organizer if you want to avoid Frito Feet

On the idea that things like chivalry and honor not being real doesn’t make them unimportant: I agree that ideals still have very real power through there ability to inspire and drive peoples actions. You can try and live up to an idea even if it doesn’t naturally exist and through the effort make it a real force in the world even if it’s never quite the ideal. Not sure how coherent this is (highly driven by my Fullmetal Alchemist rewatch) but thank you for giving me something to think about.

We are the things that we do, and I believe this strongly. Words are smoke, easily cast aside. Action is fire. But I also can hold that believing in something, can give it shape, and make you want to go towards it. El Dorado can be mythical, and still make you set to see you know? Maybe not the best example given all the, you know bloodshed, but you get me here.

Ideals are a horizon. I do not ever realistically believe I will meet my ow expectations of myself. I will always be a little bit reactionary, sometimes blunt in a bad way, I will always be a bit more stick than carrot. BUt that I think these flaws are unable to be erased is no reason not to try. Maybe I can't stop my quick temper, but maybe I can slow it a bit. Maybe I can never be a truly kind person, but I can be kinder than I might be today. Maybe I will never be patient, but maybe I can learn to tolerate just a LITTLE more.

I think there is value in seeing who you want to be, and moving toward it. I think there is value in justice and honor, in love, in effort. I think the things you DO every day prove that out. I work hard for my community, even in my small ways, because I want to be a person who does good things. And you must do good things to be good. I sure as shit don't volunteer for stuff because I like doing it. Calling offices, writing letters, stuffing boxes, writing copy, one of that is FUN. But it all moves toward an ideal I believe in. And those ideals matter mostly in that they make me do more. They make me BE BETTER.

Went to the car boot sale and bought an adjustable pipecutter for £3.50. It gives a way cleaner cut that a hacksaw ever will. Also I haven’t been able to find and pics of this particular design, so I suspect it may have been made in someone shed.

Also got a pair of pliers that expand, mostly cos I thought they were kinda cute.

I lean toward getting old tools, or tools without any plastic bits, as they last for a long-ass time. Killed way to many tools cos they had a plastic part where they needed a metal part so these days I barely even look at tools that have plastic anywhere other than a handle.

I am LOVING the fucking chocolate guy’s netflix show! It’s FANTASTIC! Anf hold on to your fucking boots y’all cause it’s actually not what I was expecting at all!

Do you miss the gentleness of the Great British Bake-Off? THIS SHOW IS SO KIND AND GENTLE! For fuck’s sake, NO ONE GETS KICKED OFF! No. No, Listen to this! When they lose the first challenge (a pastry one), the punishment is... They get private lessons with Amaury to help improve what brought their scores down instead of competing in the second chocolate challenge. 

When the one black lady contestant messed up the first challenge I was super bummed and like, OF COURSE. But NO. She got lessons! She struggled! she worked hard! and she won a later challenge! GROWTH MY DUDES! They are there TO LEARN and GROW and Maybe Win a Big Prize!

They ALL get to stay and keep doing their best! and at the end the one who did the best overall is the one who gets the money prize!

Look at this lovely line up! they make COOL LOOKING FANCY THINGS! Amaury tells us how he does some of the fancy things he does! They OFFER TO HELP EACH OTHER WHEN THEY FINISH EARLY AND GET PROPS FOR THAT! (not taunted for not using their own time better). The set up even kinda makes the one who is like, I’m in it to win it, is the villain and doing bad. The rest who are like, I’m here to learn and grow and maybe make friends! AUGH YOU GUYS!

Amaury is soft spoken and kind, and has a pretty voice and a pretty smile and that’s nice to watch too. The chefs are talented and artistic and they actually give the THE TIME to make nice things! It’s not “Wham out some half-assed garbage in 2 hours so we can shotgun the production and laugh at your garbage” like most cooking shows nowadays. NO! 14 hour challenges! They’re still hard, but they get to actually make cool stuff! fancy stuff! Stuff I want to look at and cheer for them!

The episodes average 38 min and aren’t a huge time commitment, the first episode being the longest one, and there are only 8 total so it’s not like you have to really get in for the long haul. \

WATCH IT! Pump it! we need more cooking shows like this and less that are sad and mean!
