To continue with my #Chatakpur series- The tea garden is a somewhat universal symbol of the #Darjeeling hills of my state. Sometimes neither can I choose the time of visit nor stay back till I get my favourite light. I have to do whatever light I am offered by mother nature. This is one such scenario where I needed to shoot inside Dhurba Tea Estate in a flat, contrasty noon-day light. Story of a remote village of Odisha: A religious procession in the village named Gania. The idol of Lord #Jagannath of famous temple at Puri is made from the wood collected from the jungle near this village and the first worship takes place in a small temple in this village. It was pretty hot day, but they all were walking barefooted as a show of respect which is a custom too. They are mostly tribals and the path leads to other villages deeper into Satkosia Tiger 🐯 Reserve. The resources are limited, but the joy these socio religious functions bring to the locals is unlimited. These people are cohabiting with wild life for centuries, and this principle of cohabitation is the key to sustainable development. There will few more in this series.
