I love, especially in the context of South Africa being a world leader in antizionism, that antizionists will without fail bring up "the Afrikaners converted to Judaism and moved to the West Bank because they missed the Apartheid so much!"

Because outside of a single Ha'Aretz article there's no information on this. The article is behind a paywall, but you can find people talking about it on social media. It includes a lot of conjectures and unsourced quotes, such as a prominent family's oldest son saying he "loved the Apartheid system of Israel" before dying in a tractor accident. Despite that a Rabbi quoted in the article said he has no idea why "so many" Afrikaners were converting to Judaism, but suspected it was spiritual, not political.

Well if you look up statistics, there are only about 11,000 Jews of South African descent in Israel, mostly living in Tel Aviv and Ra'anana and Savyon... nowhere near the West Bank. So are these Afrikaners not counted among ex-South African Jews? Where are they? Do they truly exist? We may never know.

I do know that converting to Orthodox Judaism, when you belong to a historically white supremacist radical Calvinist Christian group that literally has this as a "resistance" flag

Is a... choice. Most orthodox congregations will make you study and practice for a year or more before you're considered a Jew. It's a big commitment especially for families. So I just don't think the kind of people who had a big affinity for the Nazis would choose to become Jews just so they could live in a political system that isn't actually like Apartheid South Africa, and we know this because South Africans have been to Israel and said "Where are the whites only toilets?"

And to steal the argument of a Redditor, if you do the math "about 5 families a year" converting to Judaism from South Africa over the past 30 odd years, only amounts to a few hundred people. That is both enough people that Israeli records would probably make note of it, but not enough people to be at all a significant amount of Boers. South Africa already has about 50,000 Jews, many of them are leaving for other countries.

So why do you have to invent a "phenomenon" about ex-Apartheid enjoyers going against everything their white supremacist culture believes in to work and study hard for months upon months to become Jews just to move across the world and get a chance to what? Live in an illegal settlement that doesn't actually employ Arabs as menial laborers? Live in an Israeli city alongside brown and black Jews? Does any of this make any lick of sense?

The establishment of Capetown will be very relevant to one of tomorrow's key points, the Mfecane:

The Dutch in their establishment of Capetown in the 1650s were the western end of imperialism in Africa, as will also be covered the Portuguese in Mutapa, one of the two centralized states that preceded the cattle-kraal cultures of the 19th Century, were the eastern. Both were seeking to build empires at the same time. In the case of Capetown the Boers ultimately succeeded, and the settlement would grow and paved the way for the Khoi Wars of the 18th Century against the Khoisan peoples of the west, and for the expansion that would lead to British imperialism in South Africa in the 19th.

It was so, ultimately, because the Dutch were ruthless enough to establish a settler-colony and that in turn will have a very direct reference tomorrow in discussions of the Mfecane and what it was and what it was not. The Dutch from the very beginning were settler-colonialist slavers. Their expansion was fueled by the same dynamics that propel all settler-colonies, and by definition these cannot but destabilize societies around them, producing the same ripple effect seen in a modern form with the Syrian Civil War.
