AIP hired the gang as both technical advisors of sorts and to essentially play themselves in supporting roles. That's Oakland chapter founder Sonny Barger -- described by Hunter S. Thompson as the Angels' unifying "maximum leader" -- on the far left.

Hi guys! I thought I would share these 1970s Bikersploitation paperbacks I picked up recently. Both these titles by the New English Library were published under pseudonyms. Jan Hudson is the late SF writer George Henry Smith and Thom Ryder is actually John Harvey! Avenging Angel is a great read so I’ve sent an email to John Harvey’s contact asking if he would consider making his earlier works available again as e-books… Fingers crossed! 🍀
