for the bgah finale celebration q&a, are there easter eggs in the series we may have missed? i feel like there are a lot

i can confirm, there are a lot of easter eggs in the entire series 😆 here are some:

1. the significance of #2.

if you’ve read the series, you’ve probably noticed that the number 2 showed up a lot. this is a nod to the fact that reader has to pick between 2 lovers. this also a foreshadow to how long the series would be.

2 lovers = 2 parts for backstories, 2 bonus parts, 2 parts for the finale.

2. max and daniel color themes.

parts focusing on max are black and white.

parts focusing on daniel are with colors.

this is how the reader sees her past relationship with max and her relationship with daniel. basically, it means that her relationship with max was dark, while her relationship with daniel is bright. max also has the black and white theme bc her relationship with him is hidden, meaning what she had with max has not stepped outside that’s why there is no light.

3. alternating parts.

when i published every part, i made sure that parts for max and daniel alternated. the release would be: max, daniel, max, daniel, max, daniel.

this wasn’t a coincidence. i did it on purpose because the alternating of parts represented the back and forth thoughts inside y/n’s mind. every time y/n thought she had escaped max, she found herself thinking about him again.

4. songs i picked for inspiration.

all parts focusing on max which are:

the other side of the door, we were happy, the way i loved you are songs from taylor’s FEARLESS album. (taylor’s version, ofc)

all parts focusing on daniel which are:

gold rush, cowboy like me, champagne problems are songs from taylor’s EVERMORE album.

5. the part 2, which is gold rush, foreshadowed the ending.

for the sake of everyone who has not read the ending yet, i won’t include here which was the exact part the foreshadowing happened… but one of the key parts was the scene in daniel’s childhood bedroom when he told y/n an advice his father told him. the advice literally said what would happen in the final 2 parts. can you pinpoint the other scenes where i foreshadowed the ending? 🤭

out of all the parts, why gold rush? because it was the 2nd part. this is yet again a nod to the significance of #2.

i don't even know where to begin but damn the broken glass and honey series was so good. like it literally made me feel a rollercoaster of emotions?? anw i saw that the finale celebration is still ongoing so i guess i'll join. how did you come up with the concept of the series?

thank you so much 🥹 so the concept… this is gonna be a long answer so i’m just gonna put the “keep reading” line. (my answer contains slight spoilers for the series finale)

you would be surprised to know that the series was not actually meant to be a series. my initial plan was just to write a max oneshot inspired by that’s the way i loved you (so part 3 was actually the first part i started and finished writing) but then when i read what i wrote i just thought that this has too much potential just to be a oneshot. from then on came the process of creating backstories. in part 3 i mentioned the contrast between y/n’s relationship with max and daniel. i wrote there that they had a toxic relationship. meaning they fought often with max. and i’m not even kidding when i tell you that from the word “fight” i immediately thought of taylor’s song the other side of the door where the first lyrics were “in the heat of the fight i walked away” so i immediately jotted that song down on my notes bc i know i’m gonna use it. after i found the song that would be max and reader’s backstory, i knew i had to find a taylor song for daniel and reader. daniel just reminds me of gold rush so much like just from the way almost every f1 fan has a soft spot for him and loves him. again, i jotted that song down on my notes.

i thought about leaving the story with just 3 parts but i knew it would not be enough. so i had to find yet another song that would connect to the previous 3 and conclude everything. that’s why i immediately thought of champagne problems.

the bonus parts, we were happy and cowboy like me, were a heat of the moment thought. and thankfully, when i was thinking of the songs that would fit the emotions max and daniel were feeling, my bestie in real and delulu lives @writingstoraes helped me with picking the right songs for those parts.

after i picked the 6 songs, i just made a storyline in my head that connected them with each other ❤️ thank you for this question, i loved answering it!
