I don’t say that often about many places, cause it usually takes me a while to get my bearings and understand the true nature of a place.

But I loved it! 🥰

What I thought was just going to be a day of me doing light travel and eating, turned out to be such a culturally immersive experience from just walking down streets.

Considering this was my first stop 🛑 in South America, I truly came to understand why people love Peru so much…,𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝐡𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞.

And I was able to get back and forth starting with just a quick Uber ride, right out of the airport.

Although I was running on short time, I almost didn’t want to leave.

This was truly phenomenal first stop on my South American journey.

It’s also one of the reasons I often hear people use as a reservation to traveling solo.

We are human and of course breaking bread amongst community can be such a heartwarming thing, but so can dining alone.

I in particular love doing the later, because it allows me to fully enjoy my dining experience and just sit in the moment.

That however, can be a bit scary for some.

Every other person in Bali is photographer. Trust!! 😆

From your private driver to tour guide to your waitress, they know how to get those shots in. I have never seen anything like it. At times, they even pose you.

I usually have my poses down pack, but it was actually nice to have someone yelling at you :

"Cross your legs this way! Angle your head that way! Straighten your back!" 😂

You will usually have one person taking pics with the professional camera, then one taking pics with your phone, and if you are lucky, you might have one posing you or telling you what to do.

The funniest part for me were the videos. Woo, they do A LOT! A whole lot of movement would be involved. I would be sitting there stressed for the camera person. I would always end up saying 'I didn't need all of that but thank you.' 🤣

In the end though, you get some amazing photography work. So thank you again Bali. 🥰❤️

So I have to tell you guys, despite constantly sharing travel content, for some reason beauty brands love reaching out to me. 😂

And interestingly enough, I tend to have folks comment on my skin and hair regimen, even in travel.

I’m a minimalist at best, and really only use 3 or 4 products for my hair and skin - which surprises people too, especially when I tell them which products I use topically.

.

But even for myself, I’m always surprised when people ask about my skin for instance, because believe it or not I used to have horrible, acne-prone skin and dark spots. I’ve since gotten that under control, but now I mainly deal with eczema and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. These are probably two of the most common skin-related issues faced by people of color.

.

When it comes to hair, I’ve always had long hair. But if you’ve followed me long enough, you’ll know I was always protective styling my own hair with natural twists. It was a drastic change when I decided to big chop over a year ago - one in which I’ve embraced since.

.

I have to say, travel has had a great impact on my skin and hair, for the good and the bad. At this point, I kind of just accept it for what it is.

So I guess I’m just curious to ask,

This trip, although brief, was definitely giving “traveling sisterhood” vibes.

Between making new and wonderful friends, to spending more 1:1 time with old friends, I learned so much. So much about them - their highs and lows, wins and failures. And yet still we can celebrate, laugh about it, and see that it is all just part of the journey of life.

Of course, I learned even more about myself. Where I have fallen short as a friend, what I could do to improve, and how important it is to water friendships to keep them thriving.

Just wanted to say thank you to you guys and mention how much I love y’all! 🥰❤️ ………………. I wish I had words to describe the chaos I’ve been going through the past few months. With my postdoctoral fellowship coming to an end, I’ve been on a hunt to land one of the most coveted positions in the pharmaceutical industry. Not long after, the friend showed up on a bicycle 🚴, with dollar-to-dollar amount I needed : $300 USD to Cuban Pesos I had never seen anything like this! 🤣 But I was told this is the norm. Which makes sense, cause there really is no way to change the money back to USD, once you’ve converted it to Cuban Pesos. ➡️ 𝑺𝑶 make sure you bring enough money in your country currency for the duration of your trip. ➡️ 𝑩𝑼𝑻 only exchange the exact amount you’ll need 𝑰𝑵 𝑪𝒖𝒃𝒂. Make sure you are able to use it all in Cuba. Have you ever seen something that just…didn’t make any sense? …………………………. After spending time in Marrakech, I decided to do a day trip to another city. (👀 You’ll soon see where) On the way there, we kept passing by these trees with some funny looking things on them. It wasn’t until we made a full stop at one, that we realized there were goats 🐐 in the trees! We came out of the car, and out of nowhere, some random man comes from under the tree with a baby goat, asking if we wanted to hold it. 😂 I fell for the okie dokie cause, as you guys already know, I love the animals! 🥰 ………………………. Morocco is home to the famous argan oil (aka Moroccan oil). Certain regions will have an immense number of argan trees and oddly enough you are likely to see goats climbing up them to eat the argan nuts. However, these here goats clearly didn’t climb a thing!
