there's another layer to the whole narrative thing in iamos too. i'm writing a story about video game characters but it's not a game in our world. the game may be the world they're living but on our side of things it's just a story i'm telling. this gives the story two different layers of The Fourth Wall. most of the characters aren't aware of the game or the fourth wall at all. some of them are aware of the game. but only reverie is aware of Me as i write things down and draw them out and the people who look at what i've made

#text #in a manor of speaking #sorry for being so mentally ill about iamos. it will happen again #and the wildest part is the fact that i actually can't turn iamos into a game #it wouldn't work. the story would not translate. #we cannot interfere with the horrors that are happening in there #the game already has its 3 designated players. nobody on our world can be those 3 players it doesn't work #it's a game we'll never play it's an interactive story we can't interact with #the best i can do is spin off games #i have an idea for a game about reverie. and it goes to shit the moment you open the game because reverie KNOWS #reverie KNOWS you have just taken over them and it fucks them up #because they ARE THE PLAYER in iamos. but not in this spin off game where you are the player instead #it's an entirely different existential crisis than the one canon reverie has #spin off game elysium also would not have the same role. she would become a standard npc instead of a coder #because it wouldn't be her code it would be mine. and how is she supposed to mess with that?
