Jeanne D'Arc was a real person though, but at this point her legend has overwritten so much of history, and she's been so fictionized, especially by Japanese media, that she has been fully stripped of her reality in a sense? IT JUST is something that is really eerie for me, as a french person who heard of her as, yknow, a war hero first??? (also bc obviously in France a lot of people wants to pretend they're related to her and long story short i have a friend who's family pretends they're related to Jeanne d'Arc and while it's likely boggus (and friend herself doesn't believe it) you understand why this takes me out right. right?)

It's like i lose my shit everytime i see Napoleon in a Japanese media like, get that man away from my sight don't even dare trying to make him sexy, my ancestors didn't try to murder him for me having to consider playing his route in an Otome game what are you THINKING -- *coughs* i digress.

So historical figures are always a bit on a weird place for me, and in Granblue i think well... there's Jeanne d'Arc and Cagliostro who are based on real people for instance, but those are also people that have been so used in Japanese fiction in particular that they're probably just similar to legends like Arthur and Mordred enough to use them like this.

but therefore it's why i kinda just roll with FGO having this specific cast because like. sure. whatever. I once played an otome game where all sort of historical figures were actually vampires, do you think i give a shit. (i didn't get past the prologue because i couldn't bear Napoleon being here but, i considered it! for a bit!)

but ultimately she's one of the characters who comes from SnB and back then her role was more obvious since SnB happens during one of Bahamut's destruction cycle, and Jeanne has heard the voice of God telling her to prepare for the battle and stuff.

in Granblue, she heard the voice of a god telling her to prepare to fight the Otherworld, and Lu Woh mentions that it is actually likely Bahamut is talking to her into preparing for a possible destruction in the future.

but i haven't read her FEs so this is where i'm left with.

Killer!Max is a very confident, sinister-but-sexy presence and she knows it- and wants everybody to think the same.  I’m imagining the typical very slow, male gaze pan up from feet to face with her entering the Fog while twirling a knife or something. She came here to attack people and she’s having such a good time right now.

When the guitar picks up I always get western-empty-desert vibes, which is kind of what I would want for Rick. Sure, Montana isn’t a desert, but he goes there because he drew the short straw to go find out what happened with the guy his office hates. He’s got no idea what he walked into and he doesn’t even know he’s out of his depth. Also down to the play by play: Montage of him showing up. Entering the county via plane when the guitar starts, then he stumbles across some Peggie business when the humming starts, he witnesses them killing someone- and then they spot him and start to go after him and he bolts bc he immediately understands that Things Aren’t Right. 

Woman: Kesha  or Raise Your Glass: Pink

Standard fair for  “Partier, Strong Believer in Girl Power But Also Disaster of a Human Being”  characters- and Nic is no different. Waking up looking like death to an alarm and dragging herself through her morning routine, maybe?

A New Hope /  Obi-Wan: John Williams

Seems sacrilege not to have her have an actual Star Wars song as her intro. Not just because it’s on brand, but just because she’s the embodiment of being Obi-Wan’s daughter, and also in a literal sense that Raza’s name very much intentionally means “hope”, which the Jedi need when she’s introduced, so it’s smack dab on the nose.
