Ghosts | Green & Blue [Halloween Event]

Green had planned on easing himself back into civilisation slowly. Spend some time with Gramps and Daisy, and adjust. Anyone else, this would have worked out fine for, but not Green Oak. He'd barely been back a day when Gramps handed him a letter. The look on his face told him exactly who it was from. With a deep breath, he opened and read:

Green,

I've no idea where you are on the account of you up and leaving without a word but I thought Professor Oak would be the best bet for getting in touch with you.

I understand that you probably won't want to see me but I need your help. There's an oddity on Cinnabar Island. Could be a rift. Halloween festival starts there in two days. Meet me then at the docks.

Folding the letter and putting it in his jacket pocket, he began to pack his things. How the hell did he miss one? He was certain he'd closed all of Giratina's rifts. He'd spent the past two years making sure he did! This was never ending. Just as he thought he could finally get back on track, his past kept coming back to haunt him. He was praying it was a false alarm.

It wasn't the only thing that had him afraid. He hadn't seen Blue since she'd saved him and he'd beaten Giratina. He left without a word to go and try to make up for the damage he'd caused. He was scared of how she'd react. Did she hate him? In any case he had to see her, explain everything.

Waking up Dante, Green got on the back of his trusty Charizard and set out for Cinnabar Island. Luckily the skies seemed clear along the way and he made it to the island with time to spare. Festival rules stated everyone on the island had to be in costume so Green put on a Team Rocket uniform to blend in with the festival goers and made his way towards the docks. 

Upon arrival, he saw exactly what Blue meant by the oddity. There was a cruise ship slap bang in front of him surrounded by fog and it felt….. wrong. Like it wasn't supposed to be there. Before he could ponder its existence any longer, a subtle cough caused him to turn around and standing there before his eyes was someone he thought he'd never see again. "Blue…. Hi".

Nicotine|Elios &  Cynthia (Halloween Event)

Elios didn't get nervous. It just wasn't something that happened to him. He'd always been a confident battler. Against every opponent he faced, he always believed he'd win. The Ace Trainer had been trained by one of the best and had even had a few stints filling in for Dad as Cinnabar's Gym Leader. He wasn't overly fond of being incredibly social with people all the time but that was more due to personal preference than actual nerves. Even when it came to Flannery, there hadn't been nerves. Running into his long lost sister in Praguine Town at the Winter Festival had been a surprise, so he didn't even have time to be nervous.

But tonight was different. Blaine had organised a Halloween festival on Cinnabar Island and wanted as many people as possible to come from far and wide to come and take part in the festivities. This shouldn't have been an issue. Blaine was renowned in Kanto and all of the Gym Leaders and other members of the Pokémon League were going to be attending. Hell he'd even roped in Flannery to get a lot of the Hoenn crowd to go. But that wasn't enough for Blaine. Elios had barely been home for an hour when he'd asked him something that had made him go crimson.

"Why don't you ask that girlfriend of yours to come? Get her to bring her crowd. Perks of dating a champion, Ace!"

No matter how many times Elios explained it to him, Dad wouldn't listen when he told him that he and Cynthia were just friends. After slowing his heart rate down sufficiently, Elios gave the Sinnoh Champion a call, telling her about the conversation with Blaine, albeit leaving out the part about insinuations they were… involved. He didn't expect her to say yes, but much to his surprise, she seemed ecstatic at the idea.

Fast forward to Halloween night and here Elios was, getting dressed in his casual vampire costume and he was nervous. He'd never admit it to anyone, but when he was around Cynthia, he felt something. Something he hadn't felt around anyone before. He'd dated before but this was different. It felt like fire and electricity running through his veins. It terrified the Ace Trainer but he couldn't get enough of it. It was all very confusing.

Composing himself, he left his room in the Pokémon Mansion and headed downstairs to see if his friend had arrived. As he reached the bottom of the stairs, he noticed a number of recognisable trainers, including some of the Gym Leaders he'd met the previous week at the fundraiser at Saffron City. Speaking to one of the waitresses, Elios learned that Dad was nowhere to be seen. Typical. Old man was probably down at the Gym checking out the Pokémon contest. Luckily, thee event workers had everything well in hand, leaving Elios free to go find Cynthia.

Taking a glance around and greeting a couple of people along the way, the Ace Trainer saw that familiar blonde hair and smiled as he made his way towards her at the bar. Taking a seat beside her, he ordered both of them drinks, being well acquainted with her preferences and turned to smile at her. "You made it."

"I spy a birthday boy~." Blue chirped happily holding out a neatly wrapped gift. Inside Green would find a notebook full of letters that Blue had written to him over the past two years. "Hope you have a great birthday."

Looking up from his coffee, he saw Blue of all people standing in front of him with a present. He'd no intention of spending his birthday in Hearthome but had completely forgot it was today until Gold had reminded him.

"Oh hey you. You didn't have to get me anything. But thanks.... Its... Its good to see you Blue" he said with a hint of a smile.

"So what brings you to Hearthome?" he asked, motioning for her to sit down as she handed him the present.

"Well hey there Green! Heard it was your birthday." A birthday cake is placed on the table in front of him. "Don't forget to blow out /all/ the candles now. Someone as cute as you doesn't need to worry about having any girls hoping to be girlfriends after all~" There's a twinkle in his eye and a playful smirk on his lips.

"Oh, uhm thanks kid" he says awkwardly but with a grateful tone. "I uh, kinda forgot it was today. Not really been with it lately" he says with a slightly sad smile.

It was coffee cake. His favourite. He stifled a laugh at the Johto trainers comments. He'd known him for a long time. Back when Green was in charge of the Viridian Gym, Gold had been one of the first trainers to actually beat him. Seeing him here in Hearthome City in the park with a cake was a surprise to say the least.

Taking a deep breath he blew out the candles and made a silent wish.

"So. Shall we eat?"
