The beauty of the forests of Assam - Manas National Park & Tiger Reserve
The beauty of the forests of Assam - Manas National Park & Tiger Reserve , Manas National Park in Assam is a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site, a tiger and elephant reserve, and a biosphere reserve and is regarded as a safe haven for various rare and endangered species. The River Manas, which flows through the reserve and is a significant tributary of the Brahmaputra River, is whence Manas National Park derives its name.  The 950 sq km national park, which shares a border with Bhutan's Royal Manas National Park, is home to a variety of animals, including the Assam roofed turtle, hispid hare, golden langur, and pygmy hog. The Assam wildlife reserve includes the Bansbari (Central), Panbari (Western), and Bhuiapara (Eastern) mountains and extends through the districts of Chirang, Darrang, Kokrajhar, Udalguri, and Baska.
History of Manas National Park
In the Indian state of Assam, Manas National Park is renowned for its diverse wildlife and breathtaking vistas. There is a rich historical backdrop to the park.
In order to primarily save the Bengal tiger and Indian rhinoceros, which are both endangered, Manas National Park was created as a wildlife sanctuary in 1928. At first, it was known as Manas Wildlife Sanctuary. Due to its remarkable natural qualities, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1985.
Unfortunately, the park experienced difficulties in the latter half of the 20th century as a result of regional wars and turmoil. Manas National Park suffered significant erosion and harm in the 1990s and early 2000s as a result of illicit logging, poaching  and settlers' encroachment.
In the early 2000s, efforts to preserve and rehabilitate the park gathered steam. The government launched rehabilitation programmes and put more stringent protective measures into place in conjunction with a number of organizations and local communities. Manas National Park was taken off the list of World Heritage Sites in Danger by UNESCO in 2011, a sign of the effectiveness of conservation efforts.
Manas National Park is now seen as an example of successful animal protection. The park is home to several endangered animals, including tigers, elephants, Indian rhinoceroses, and pygmy pigs. It also has a variety of habitats, including grasslands, woodlands and wetlands. Read more

Upcoming Travel and Why YOU Should use a Travel Agent
Tumblr media
With almost 50 million Americans traveling on July 4 weekend, you may need to pack your patience Swimsuit packed? How about your patience? If you are heading out of town for the July 4 holiday weekend, you will likely need both. More than 47.7 million Americans will be on the nation’s roadways and in the skies during the July 1–5 period, according to the American Automobile Association. That will be very close to pre-pandemic levels, and the second-highest Independence Day travel volume on record. In normal times, holiday travel can be frustrating — but as the nation makes its way out of the pandemic, there is a lot more than usual riding on this weekend. Road trips still rule Despite the shortage of rental cars and the highest gas prices in seven years, AAA expects more than 91 percent of holiday travel will be by car. An expected 43.6 million Americans will drive to their destinations, AAA said. That's the highest on record for this holiday and 5 percent more than the previous record, set in 2019. All those cars means congested highways. “With travelers eager to hit the road this summer, we’re expecting nationwide traffic volumes to increase about 15 percent over normal this holiday weekend,” said Bob Pishue, a transportation analyst with INRIX analytics company. “Drivers around major metro areas must be prepared for significantly more delays.” Drivers should remember that many motor home drivers are still getting used to maneuvering their new RVs. In addition to loading up tunes and travel apps, experts suggest holiday road trippers do a refresh on safe following distances and remember that many motor home drivers are still getting used to maneuvering their new RVs. Advice for air travelers Around 3.5 million people are planning to fly over the July 4 holiday, and air travel volumes are expected to reach 90 percent of pre-pandemic levels. That is an increase of 164 percent compared to last year, AAA said. Anyone waiting until the last minute before booking may want to try budget carriers such as Southwest and Spirit, especially on their new routes, said Adit Damodaran, economist with Hopper travel site. Newcomers Breeze and Avelo, serving secondary airports, may still have good fares as well, Damodaran said. Getting through airports during holiday weekends was frustrating before the pandemic. This year, it could be much worse, due to a temporary shortage of Transportation Security Administration officers, airline staff, and airport shop and restaurant workers. Add to that new airport protocols, the rash of unruly travelers, and passengers who show up at the security checkpoint with everything from oversized liquids to guns and other prohibited items because they’re forgotten how to pack. Travelers should make use of airline apps to check in for their flight and tag their luggage, said Sherry Stein, head of technology strategy at SITA, an air transport technology company. With such high passenger volume, “the challenge will be to keep things moving smoothly," she said. What about buses and trains? AAA expects 620,000 Americans to travel by bus, train, and other modes this holiday weekend, an increase of more than 72 percent since last year. While overall ridership on Amtrak is running at about 55 percent of pre-pandemic levels, it is down just 14 percent for the holiday weekend, compared to 2019, said Doug Duval, an Amtrak spokesman. "This is trending to be the best holiday since the pandemic started.” Bus ridership is on the rise too. During the pandemic, bus lines furloughed and laid off many employees — and drivers are not rushing back, said Jan Jones, program coordinator for the Hospitality and Management program at the University of New Haven. “Staffing is a problem here, too. July 4 travelers may be limited in terms of where they can go by bus," Jones said. Hotels and campsites Lodging reservations are well above the reservation volume for last year, at 163 percent of 2020 bookings, according to a report from TripIt vacation planning service. But late planners might not be totally out of luck. “If you know the hotel or hotel brand you want to stay with, try their mobile apps or websites because they usually offer a best rate guarantee,” said Paul Barron, EVP for marketing and hospitality at Amadeus travel tech company. Loyalty program members booking directly on a hotel website often receive personalized offers not available on other sites, he added. Too daunting? Ditch the drama. Travelers itching to get back to big cities or other popular tourist hotspots to celebrate Independence Day should try smaller towns — or maybe do a pivot and “don't travel at all,” said travel adviser Jessica Scott. “Instead, spend the long weekend penciling out your travel schedule for the future. If there is anything the pandemic taught us, it is not to wait to take that dream trip, or to visit a far-away friend or family member.” Harriet Baskas Harriet Baskas is an NBC News contributor who writes about travel and the arts.

Hey. In 2012 my family and me went to summer holiday to Croatia Baska voda. We found and booked our apartment online and drove there by car just like every other family trip we took. On our way to our final destination we made quick stop at Croatia’s famous and beautiful national park Plitvice lake and you can read all about my experiences there in this article I wrote HERE.
As my family have 5 members we always went to apartments and not hotels as it’s more suitable for us. I usually share a room with my sisters at our family holidays and we use to cook for ourselves as we are all too picky in food so it’s just more convenient for us that way. Disadvantage of cooking at holidays is the time it takes out of relaxing on the beach. But we have a fun way to decide who would get to do house chores, cook or wash dishes over the holidays. We played cards and the looser have to do it while others get to just relax. Thank God I’m good at cards.
Name of our apartment was Villa Leticia and it costed us around 80 euros per night for the whole family. Apartment had 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living room. bathroom and balcony where we had lunch .Most of our time we spend out of our apartment anyway. Here is our photo in front of the apartment, the view from our balcony and sneaky photo my mum took in the morning from mine and my sister’s room:
Every morning we went to the beach, returned for lunch and then went back to the beach and stayed there till evening. After return we would all clean up and get ready to go out for night walk over the town. This is basically our standard plan for most of our holidays.
Beaches in Croatia are mostly stony and water is very clear because of that. Stones at this place were very tiny and in some place we could even find pure sand. I prefer sand beaches over stone ones more as it’s better for my feet but the water is much better at stone beaches. If only there could be a combination of best of both of them in one super beach. Here are some photos from the beach:
I was able to build sand dinosaur at this sand/stony beach or cover my youngest sister in sand completely:
My usual holiday activity is books reading and you can find me in this position everywhere:
Evening walks over the town is always great time to explore the place, buy souvenirs, have dinner or our favourite ice cream.
Me and my mum are both pharmacist so at every place we visit we got to take photo in front of local pharmacy – it’s our thing. Also my shirt below represent my mood perfectly – hungry.
We’re catholic family and we visit church every sunday even on holidays. It’s always easy to find church and find out when the mass will be held. Even though we don’t understand Croatian language and whole mass is just symbolic for us it’s always nice experience to see how masses looks like in different places. This one was special for us because the priest was very friendly and he invited everyone for a lunch after the mass! Locals and all of the tourist too. They set up drinks and food for the whole community and it was full of really nice people and even thought we didn’t knew anyone or understand we had very pleasant time.
Tumblr media
As you know about my religion now you will understand better our next trip we took. As Baska voda is quite close to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Very famous place for christians in Bosnia and Herzegovina is Medjugorje – place where Virgin Mary appeared to 6 local children. You can read about Our Lady of Medjugorje in here.
Place was full of tourist, churches, statues and gift shops. We didn’t visit the actual place where Virgin Mary appeared as it was up on the Apparitions Hill and we didn’t have enough time to walk all the way as the weather was very hot and to hike in summer at noon with  kids is not the best idea. We only stayed in the Medjugorje center and here are some photos from there:
It was just a day trip but it was good experience. It was incredibly hot so we didn’t enjoy it as much cuz we were all sweaty and tired.
We returned back to Croatia and continued our chill at the beach. Our whole summer holiday took 10 days and ride from our hometown to Baska voda was around 13 hours. Quite a ride. Me and my sisters slept, watched movies or played games most of the ride.
Another funny thing that happened is that our car broke down at highway in Hungary. Funny as this happened almost every year – luckily now we got a new car. We had to stop at gas station and fix the problem. Here is the evidence:
Tumblr media
Our family holidays are aways great and this holiday in Baska voda was just as awesome. We had great weather all the time, good apartment, incredible clear beach, evening activities and many trips. I have only positive memories of summer 2012
Thank you for your attention
xo Natalia

Asagida ayni parcanin farkli sekillerde alintilanma ornekleri gosteriliyor:
short direct quotation
A few words, carefully chosen, make the most of powerful quotations and demonstrate that you can select quotations appropriately.
Here’s a text that includes two quotations, in Harvard style:
Writing about José Martì, John M. Kirk (1977, p. 275) observed that 'both as a Cuban patriot and as a sincere human being Martì evokes admiration from all sides'.
Nonetheless, the film was deliberately inaccurate about the life of José Martì. Jesus Colon (1982, p. 82) pointed this out when he wrote, 'José Martì never had a mansion or a hut of his own. Needless to say, he never had slaves'.
paraphrase or summary
Rather than quoting directly, you may paraphrase or summarise the author's words.
Here are two summaries, in Harvard style:
José Martì earned widespread admiration, both as a patriot and as a person (Kirk 1977, p. 275). Nonetheless, the film was deliberately inaccurate about José Martì, who, contrary to the image depicted in American films, spent much of his life in poverty (Colon 1982, pp. 81–2).
longer direct quotation
Avoid long quotations – they are rarely needed.
If the exact wording of a long quotation really is essential, however, introduce the quotation clearly, indent it without inverted commas and leave space before and after it. Incorporate the quotation clearly into your writing with linking sentences and by discussing its relevance.
Here’s a long quotation in Harvard style:
Angry at Hollywood versions of Latin American history, Jesus Colon wrote:
After pictures like Zapata and Santiago we can only hope that these Hollywood vulgarisers and distorters, without the least bit of respect for the history and culture of our Latin American nations, won't lay their bovine eyes upon epic themes like the Aztec struggle against Cortes' conquest of Mexico, or Sandino's fight against American imperialism .... (1982, p. 84)
Here we can see that Colon is very critical of versions of Latin American history produced in the USA.

And contrary to prejudice that the local coast is covered only with concrete slabs and large pebbles, several resorts in the country are ready to offer their guests beaches covered with soft golden sand. The island of Brac is known to travelers not only as the most picturesque place in the country. In its southern part is the pearl of Croatia – strewn with sand and the smallest pebbles Zlatni Rat spit, resembling a 634-meter wedge that cuts through the azure waters. One of the best resorts for the younger generation is Dubrovnik with its picturesque coastline, ancient buildings, an old port and a spacious aquarium located within the walls of the fortress of St. John. If your child is interested in history, then visit the medieval Porec, where you can combine sea vacations with fascinating walks around the city, carefully preserving the architectural masterpieces erected during the Byzantine and Roman Empire.
Istria, located in the north of the country, will also be interested in teenagers, offering young explorers to visit the Dinosaur Park and find themselves in the amazing cave of Baredina. You can relax from the exciting walk through the world of prehistoric dinosaurs and explore the mysterious dungeon on the beaches of the resort of Medulin. Pine groves give a shadow that reliably protects from scorching sunlight, and a stretch of the beach stretched for several kilometers, strewn with fine pebbles and sand, invites you to soak up in sun loungers and go windsurfing or diving.
Ski resorts
Tumblr media
Croatia, which many associate with the bright summer sun and warm sea, is ready to offer excellent conditions for winter holidays. A few kilometers from the Adriatic coast in December begins the season, which lovers are eagerly awaiting to storm the snow-capped mountain peaks. Ski resorts in the country are attractive for their low prices, professionally equipped pistes, picturesque landscapes and a friendly atmosphere.
Slame is the most famous place among slalomists in Croatia, located on the mountain of the same name with a height of 1,033 m. The 4 tracks laid here with a total length of 4,150 m are suitable for both those who take their first steps on the track and for professionals. The resort has hotels, cafes, equipment rental, chairlifts and ski tows. Belolasitsa is not only a popular resort, but also an Olympic center. Children and beginners are not forgotten – short and gentle descents are prepared for them. Evenings in Belolasice can be spent at the restaurant or bar.
Tumblr media
Platak, known in summer as a leisure park, is transformed in the winter into an actively developing ski resort. Here you can take advantage of seven tracks, one of which is illuminated at night. For lovers of racing from the side of the mountain on a sleigh there is a separate descent. The highlight of Plataka is the panorama of the Adriatic Sea, which opens from a height of 1,363 m.
Best time to travel
Tumblr media
The tourist season lasts in the country all year round, so everyone chooses the best time for a vacation in Croatia based on their own interests and preferences. Lovers of swimming and golden tanning visit the Adriatic resorts from May to September. The hottest month is August. Air warms up to +33 ° C, and water – up to +25 ° C, however, the sea breeze characteristic of the entire coast makes it easy to tolerate even midday heat.
With the advent of autumn, tourist life in the resorts does not freeze. The absence of sweltering heat and a comfortable temperature (from +15 to +20 ° C) create excellent conditions for a therapeutic holiday in Croatia. The healing air of pine forests, the abundance of wellness centers, mud and thermal springs are located to it. In the heart of the country, not far from Zagreb, is the city of Ivanich Grad, famous for the naphthalan deposit – a thick liquid that has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and stimulating effects and is used to combat skin problems, diseases of the nervous system and musculoskeletal system.
From December to March, guests of Croatia are skiing fans. At an altitude of 1,000–1,700 m above sea level, the air temperature drops to -10 ° C. A stable cover is provided by artificial snow generators.

Get Getting married at the airport? Idea is taking off.
Long layovers, too, are good for an 'I do' by Harriet Baskas Special for USA Today t's June and wedding season is officially underway. Look around and you'll start noticing folks getting hitched in churches, formal gardens, backyards, courthouses and hotel function rooms. And once in a while, in airports. Yes, airports. For many travelers, an airport may be the least romantic spot on earth. But airports have played an important role in plenty of love stories. Many couples first meet while working at an airport. Others meet while flying on an airplane or while hanging around at an airport. Some folks then get engaged or married at the airport because that's where they fell in love. Others just find the airport a convenient jumping off point for the rest of their – married – lives. Star attraction Rigo and Rhonda Sauceda began dating during the construction of the new terminal at Idaho's Boise Airport. Both were part of the team responsible for installing the security and information technology systems, so Rhonda didn't give it a second thought one day when Rigo said he needed to stop by the airport. "I thought we were just picking up something Rigo left at work." Instead, Rigo asked Rhonda to wait for him in the center of the airport, on the star in the middle of the medallion that forms a map on the floor. "He got down on one knee and asked me if I would marry him." (She said yes.) They considered exchanging vows at the airport, "because the Boise Airport is what brought us together," but decided to "make things a little more private" and ended up holding their wedding at a local hotel instead. Larissa ter Veer, another Boise Airport employee, didn't get engaged at the airport, but she and her fiancé Dirk, a pilot and National Guard C-130 flight engineer, did have their wedding just 15 miles down the road, at Nampa Municipal Airport. The airport is home to the Warhawk Air Museum, which has a reception-worthy hangar full of vintage airplanes, and the Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), a faith-based, non-profit ministry which has a chapel overlooking the airport and a staff member who just happens to be a wedding planner. For the aviation-themed wedding, the couple created wedding invitations resembling boarding passes and went to a local wine store to blend their own "Plane Crazy Pinot." Between the ceremony and the reception the newlyweds took a thirty-minute ride in the groom's Maule single-engine airplane and, at the end of the event, guests launched paper airplanes instead of throwing birdseed. I now pronounce you … seatmates for life Airport weddings aren't just something they do in Idaho. Chris Robinson, who calls himself "The Officiant Guy," is sometimes called on to perform weddings at airports in Southern California, most often at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Robinson is authorized to issue California's "confidential" marriage licenses, which are sealed from public access and review and do not require witnesses, California residency or a trip through LA traffic to city hall. Only the bride and groom and the person authorized to issue the certificate has to be present at the ceremony, so it's easy to see why these "confidential" licenses are popular with celebrities all the time and, in a pinch, with "regular" couples who want to get married during a long layover at the airport. Robinson says he often gets last-minute calls from couples who have planned a wedding in Tahiti or some other exotic destination and realize that they'll have less bureaucratic hassles if they get married legally in this country first. The Officiant Guy has declared couples legally married over coffee or martinis at a coffee shop or bar inside a terminal, but if they have a long layover at LAX, Robinson often suggests they perform the ceremony at the bar at the Encounter Restaurant on top of the theme building in the middle of the airport. The restaurant has a funky space-age feel to it, great views of the surrounding area and, says Robinson, "It's easier to find parking there than at one of the terminals." Weddings are also among the amenities offered at several European airports. For example, at England's Manchester Airport, couples can have their weddings inside a parked Concorde airplane. In Sweden last year, 500 couples exchanged vows at the Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, which offers both church weddings in the airport chapel and civil weddings performed by a registrar. Church weddings at the chapel are free if at least one member of the couple belongs to the Church of Sweden, otherwise, fees apply. And in Amsterdam, the ever-accommodating Schiphol Airport has a wedding planner who keeps busy helping to arrange up to 50 airport weddings a year. In Holland, the most popular months to get married are in May and September, but the airport weddings seem to be popular year-round. Like traditional wedding "halls," the airport offers several wedding packages. According to Schiphol press officer Kathelijne Vermeulen, the most popular package is the efficient "Say Yes and Go" plan that lets couples tie the knot and then jump on a plane. "Quite often people get married without telling family and friends. When boarding for their plane to the honeymoon destination, a postcard goes out to them!" A fast get-away may be fine for some couples, but Vermeulen says the airport is booking an increasing number of "Ticket to Paradise" packages. These can include anything from a champagne brunch to a big party with guests. "Afterwards," says Vermuelen, "the couple can take some of their guests with them for a holiday. You can imagine what the airport looks like when a bride and groom, completely dressed up, with 25 guests also all dressed up, pass by and board a plane." Now that's romantic! Harriet Baskas writes about travel etiquette for MSNBC.com and is the author of Stuck at the Airport. TELL US: Have you gotten engaged or married at an airport? Share your stories below.
