🏅📚🍰? 💕
🏅 What is something you recently felt proud of in regard to your writing (finished a fic, actually planned for once, etc).
Hmmm writing this scene:
Thump, Thump.
My heart feels like it’s going to beat out of my chest. His eyes pin me to the floor, incapable of moving. Out of the corner of my eye, I see the blue dagger tail moving her head back and forth. It’s the gasp of the crowd that pulls me from Xaden’s gaze.
Thump, Thump.
The blues dragon takes a step down, and my squad parts make room for her. Her yellow eyes are looking directly at me as she takes another step forward. Dain’s face paled as he watched on, but its movement to my left caught my attention. Xaden moves from where he is standing. His face is unreadable. It’s the quaking step of the dragon in front of me, and my heart rate quickens as her yellow eyes take me in.
Thump, Thump, Thump
Despite the paralyzing fear, that I may very well die in the next few seconds I take in the creature before me. Her large horns curve on the top of her head. Her scales up close shimmer with various hues of blue and hints of black near the base of her scales, which makes her eyes stand out. Her nostrils flair, it feels like a challenge, as if she is begging for me to turn and run.
Thump, Thump, Thump.
I will not die today. I take a glance at where Dain is and spot Violet right beside him, terror on her face. She knows dragons better than I do, though I know enough, she knows my rate of survival is potentially slim here. I close my eyes and try to keep my breathing even. My heart erupting in my ears.
Thump, Thump, Thump.
I get down on my knees, my hands remaining at my sides. “What the fuck is she doing?” Jack Barlow’s voice carries over the silence that has fell amongst the court. No one else says a word as I bend forward lowering myself until my forehead touches the cool brick, the small grooves pressed against my skin. I close my eyes and I mentally recite different dance positions in my head trying to ease the fear.
Thump, Thump, Thump.
My breathing begins to even out when I feel the warm steam pressing against my neck. I take the risk and lift my head; the dragon nods her head. Is she giving me the okay to rise? Another dip of her head, and I slowly rise to my feet. As I do I meet her gaze once more, it’s just her and I, the world around us since forgotten. The dragon does something to my surprise, she cranes her neck where the tip of her snout touches the floor. She is bowing to me. The message is clear, a sign of mutual respect.
Thump, Thump.
She raises her head but keeps it low as she cranes her neck out for me. I cannot even see her eyes as she comes near and presses her snout to my chest. The chatter amongst the crowd is indistinguishable. I press my hand to her snout, her scales feel like leather under my touch, a smile forms on my cheeks, fear suddenly turning into elation. “Hello, Beautiful.” My voice was unable to reach above a whisper. She huffs in response and moves back to where she was perched before.
Adrenaline must be widdling from my body fast because I grip Ridoc’s shoulder tightly as my world tilts.
Thump, Thump.
I just survived my first encounter with a dragon.
📚 Do you read your own fic?
Yes. As much as I don't enjoy it, I do read them. Mostly as a gauge of what I can improve on or how far I've come. It is important to do it even though reading it makes Me sometimes.
🍰 Name one of your fave comfort fics (doesn’t have to be your all time fave).

This Cassian Fic I read multiple time the way Liz writes Cassian is my absolute favorite.

“Dain, I am the only one who believes you right now, you know that right?” He meets my eyes again. “Violet thinks you knowingly sent her into a trap that almost got us all killed. Did you, or did you not steal a memory that set off this whole, inglorious fucking chain of events?”

“Shit. Feirge, either.” Rhi responds. “It feels like something is…”  “Smothering the connection,” Sawyer finishes and I glance up at Liam, my eyes wide. He shakes his head slightly, a worried look on his face.   “Lía…” “Say nothing.” She replies immediately.
Lía: 🌚 "...so you're in the Hadden Woods, you wanna make a left up ahead, then-"
Our queen gives zero fucks about this stupid group assignment, as if she'd ever be silly enough to get separated from her cute little human.

“You said the green ones are the most reasonable.” I hear one of the infantry cadets whisper to Sawyer, her voice shaking. I smile wider, scrambling up Lía’s foreleg to the seat. “This is reasonable!” I call back down. “My partner’s dragon would have eaten him.” She wouldn’t—she has standards—but none of them need to know that.

I love them, your honour 🔥🌶️
“Why does it feel like I’m rewarding you for bad behaviour?” He mumbles, rocking his hips against mine. I spread my legs further and draw him close, nestling his massive frame between my thighs.
“If we’re being fair, you did put me through hell today.” I smile sweetly, gasping as his hard cock slides through my arousal. “I saved you,” a high-pitched whine escapes me as he rubs against my clit, “and then you called me infuriating.”
“You are.” Xaden says evenly, onyx eyes darkening with desire. “Infuriating and beautiful and very impressive.” He smirks, nudging my knees further apart. He grinds against me slowly, drawing a quiet moan from my lips. “You’re a queen, Remi Sorrengail.” My breath quickens as he presses me further into the mattress, rolling one of my nipples between his fingers as he coaxes a louder moan to escape my throat. “My queen.” He stares down at me darkly, “but in this bedroom, I’m your king.” My lashes flutter as I gaze up at him wantonly. “So you will do as I say.”
I pick my knees up, wrapping my legs around him so I can roll us, forcing him onto his back. “Xaden,” I lean down to kiss him deeply, my tongue caressing his. He moans in appreciation, grinding his cock against my sensitive flesh. I pull back, grasping his lower lip between my teeth playfully like he did to me earlier in the day. “Tyrrendor was a joint monarchy.” I remind him, reaching up to free my hair from its loose bun. “The king and queen hold equal power.”
I might be failing history, but Tyrrendor’s cultural and political landscape? Those books I read cover to cover. This wasn’t how I’d intended to use that knowledge, but I’m certainly not complaining. My hair tumbles down over my shoulders, long enough now that it caresses the underside of my breasts and his eyes are drawn there instantly.
“Is this what you want then?” He reaches up to run a hand through my hair, feeling the soft strands between his fingers. “If you want equality that’s fine.” His tone is questionably even. “I’m certain I’ll enjoy it either way.” He sinks back into the mattress, his hands relaxed at his sides.
I watch him suspiciously, waiting for the catch. “Or…?” I prompt when there’s none forthcoming.
“Or, you remember how to follow orders and I take you on your hands and knees.” He says nonchalantly, his eyes glittering. “Your choice.”
I freeze, a desperate whine catching in the back of my throat. Fuck, really? I swallow hard, watching him, watch me.

So I'm NOT saying I'm going to do this, so please don't take it as any indication either way, I'm just really curious...
If Basgiath (Remi's Version) were to have the unexpected pregnancy trope in part three, would that make you throw hands, flip the table and abandon the series completely?
Because honestly, I really enjoy that trope and I know I'm in the minority there, but I just wonder if you're invested, so many words into a series, would that in itself be enough for you to leave?
I mean, I've literally not even thought about it past picking out their child's full name and appearance for a future project lmao help but now I'm like...do people actually hate it or is it just popular to hate it, you know? Because people hate OFC fics too but your asses are all here 😂
Thank you so much for participating in this scientific study. If you have detailed thoughts, arguments, theories, pls leave them below! 💖💖

*giggles hysterically*
Did I write the things I should have been writing today? No. Did I start something new I absolutely should not have started? Yes, of course.
To be honest, I blame all of you. Far too many of you were enthusiastic about the possibility of Remi bonding both Lía and Sgaeyl, in a world where Xaden went into the infantry. ⚔️🌟
Tumblr media
“What is he doing?” I murmur to myself, gripping the scales of Lía’s pommel tight.
“Pay attention!” Sgaeyl snaps and I whip my head to the side. She’s glaring at me in that ornery way of hers, golden eyes narrowed as she breathes out a steady stream of fire at a Wyvern descending from the clouds above us. Lía rolls, jerking us out of the way as Sgaeyl flips around, aiming her talons at the larger beast’s underbelly.
“I’m paying attention…” I bite my lip, chastised.
“No you weren’t.” Lía grumbles. I hate it when the two of them gang up on me. It is usually when I’m endangering my own life, but that’s neither here nor there. Almost against my will, my eyes flick back down toward the ground, checking on the infantry officer’s position.
He’s been down there for most of this battle, helping evacuate civilians from the township into the old mining tunnels. It’s not the perfect place to run to, given they could collapse under the weight of the mountain, but it’s not like they’re making it up the hill out in the open so…
Originally, a few of the man’s unit were on the ground with him, helping out, but now only he remains—the captain. My attention is drawn back to the fight in front of me as Lía grasps the wyvern’s neck in her jaws, clamping down as Sgaeyl lashes out again with her talons. The carcass plummets to the ground, landing with a heavy thud.
“Remi! If we take down the venin riders, the wyvern go down with them!”  Violet calls across our mental link and a sharp smile pulls at my lips.
“Thanks, sis!” I flip the dagger in my hand I’d been given by my squad leader, Garrick, before we joined this fight.
“So, where’s the closest?” I ask, wondering if I should unbuckle my legs from my saddle.
“Don’t you dare.” Lía responds to my thoughts.
Almost simultaneously Sgaeyl swoops downward and says, “below.” My eyes widen and I lean to the side, following her trajectory with my eyes. The female with the staff is standing dead centre in the middle of the field, robes billowing. She slams her staff into the ground and I watch, morbidly fascinated as the ground quickly starts decaying, grass dying in a perfect circle around her. It extends outward like a wave and when it shows no signs of slowing down, my fascination turns to fear.
“Sgaeyl!” I call out frantically, my head whipping around. My gaze lands on the infantry captain a short distance away where he stands, wide eyes locked on the venin as he helps a woman in brown riding leathers to her feet. A gryphon flier. “Get them, please!” I beg, my heart pounding as I lean forward on Lía’s back, preparing to throw. I can’t watch as my bonded complies, navy scales shining in the sun as she launches herself sideways.
We’re almost directly on top of the venin when Lía turns, providing me with just the right angle to throw my dagger and have it embedding in the venin’s heart. I pull on it with lesser magic, making sure to drive it all the way through and out the other side as Lía and I soar over, before it comes sailing back into my hand.
The second I verify she’s not getting back up, my eyes are searching, looking frantically for Sgaeyl. I relax a little when I see her form in full flight, headed for the hillside, two decidedly human forms grasped in her claws. I sag back into the seat, relieved. Fuck, that was close.
Before I have a chance to even think, the sky is erupting, lightning flashing down from a clear, blue sky and then the last of the wyvern are falling, their carcasses shaking the earth below as they rain down. “Good job, sis.” I murmur.
Something almost cosmic draws my eyes back to the hillside, like there’s a magnetic force dictating my attention belongs there and I frown. Lía moves without me even having to ask. In only seconds she’s perched on the hillside next to Sgaeyl who seems to be in a standoff with an irritated looking gryphon.
“Are you causing trouble with our temporary allies?” I smirk.
“Oh please, you’d be just as annoyed if you had to deal with it.” It. Like she can’t tell if it’s male or female—or simply doesn’t care because they’re worth less than dirt to her. Amari. I can feel Lía’s judgement radiate down the bond, but it isn’t aimed at her friend, it’s aimed at me.
“Don’t pretend you aren’t exactly like her.” She gripes and a grin pulls at my lips. She’s right. I am. I pull my legs free, sliding down Lía’s foreleg. The gryphon makes an aborted step forward, but any illusions its under as to who’s in control here are shattered instantly the minute Sgaeyl snaps her teeth in its face. She’s incredibly protective…when she feels like it.
My eyes run over the infantry captain’s form—I’m finally able to take him in up close and…wow. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more beautiful example of the male specimen in my life. Holy gods.
He’s wearing the standard dark-blue uniform of the infantry, though I can see some armour peeking out from beneath it that isn’t standard issue. That’s not too out of place though, the more wealthy infantry officers all invest in armour the minute they graduate, if not before. It complements the twin swords peeking over his shoulders, doing nothing to dissuade me of his experience in battle.
He’s tall, tall enough that I’d almost fit beneath his chin…not that I’m thinking about it or anything…and his tawny skin looks radiant in the sunlight. His windblown hair is also decidedly not regulation and in an effort to keep myself from staring at his well-muscled form, I meet his eyes. Beautiful gold-flecked onyx eyes. That does not help.
“You are so pathetic.” Sgaeyl says and I know without having to turn that the slapping sound that follows is Lía’s tail making contact with her side. I can always rely on her to have my back when it comes to feelings and I am…feeling things.
“Wh—”
“We don’t need your help.” The flier to his right snaps and for as long as I live, I’ll blame the adrenaline of battle for what happens next. I punch her in the face.
“Remi!” Lía chides immediately, lodging her teeth in the back of my leathers, dragging me forcibly away from the very upset looking gryphon.
“If it weren’t for us, you’d be dead.” I seethe. “And I mean that both specifically and in general.” As if their puny little birds could have taken down a single wyvern—what a joke. She stumbles back, holding a hand to her face and the look she levels on me, well…it’s a good thing looks can’t kill. Sgaeyl chuffs out a laugh.
She opens her mouth, no doubt to say something scathing, but the infantry captain shoots her a fierce glare that stops her in her tracks, which is…strange, because they definitely shouldn’t know each other.
“Thank you. For your assistance.” He offers Sgaeyl a respectful nod, not making eye contact, before his gaze settles on me. “Remi Sorrengail.” He smirks. “I was wondering when I’d get the chance to meet you.”
I am not ashamed to admit that smirk does something to me. My lips part in surprise. “You…” I suppose there’s not much to say—of course he knows who I am. Everyone in Navarre probably knows by now about the Sorrengail twins and how they both bonded two dragons. “Who are you?” I ask instead, my brow furrowing.
He steps closer, a small smile playing on his lips, like I should already know the answer. “Xaden Riorson.” He murmurs.
“Oh.” It leaves my mouth unbidden. “That…makes sense.” Only a duke’s son could get away with flouting the infantry dress code and whatever orders they’d been given to retreat, to avoid the oncoming fight entirely.
“Does it?” He arches a single, perfect brow.
“No.” I reply, deadpan, my eyes darting over to the gryphon flier he clearly knows well. Too well for the Duke of Aretia’s son. Lía snorts, nudging my back with her nose.
“We need to go.” Sgaeyl says, her voice tight. “Your presence is required.” Someone needs mending, is what she means.
“Ok.” I sigh reluctantly, glancing over my shoulder at her briefly. I turn back to Xaden Riorson, letting my eyes trail over his face one last time. There’s a diagonal cut bisecting his left eyebrow, blood dripping down his cheek and I step closer into his space, rising up on my toes. Silently, I reach out to cup his jaw, smoothing my thumb over the wound gently. He doesn’t flinch at the sting, heated eyes raking over my features as I mend it carefully, leaving only a silver scar behind.
I drop back down onto my feet, holding his gaze as I back away slowly, ignoring the way the tips of my fingers tingle. I turn, intending to scale Lía’s foreleg gracefully, but I pause, unable to resist taking one final look over my shoulder. Gods, he’s gorgeous. My lips quirk up. “You’d look better in black, Captain.”

I actually wrote stuff today though, kind of proud I've finally moved past that fucking conversation I spent days on 😭 who knows if it will ever see its way to (fic) publication because I'm still not stoked with anything at this point
“It must be disappointing to realise there’s nothing you can do to pull her away from me.”  “What makes you think I want to?” My mother fires back, leaning against her desk. “Your overwhelming need for control and unmatched hatred of me.” Xaden suggests, his gaze sharpening.  She doesn’t even blink. “I tasked you with protecting her, if you’ll recall. This is a fortuitous continuation of my own orders.”

Seriously Amy? It’s not like we’re not all in love with Xaden and you had him write *that* love letter? I literally could not stop smiling!!!!
I need ch 9 AND 10….this reunion might just be one of the top remixaden scenes.
Speaking of which….what are your top 3 Remi/xaden scenarios?
I'm sorry haha, I thrive on making him a perfect(ly flawed) human being, ok?
I have to choose? 😭 Haha
The reunion/following conversation/day IS one of my top three, for sure. I feel like I'm already going to forget some of their F&F scenes? I'm going to cheat and do three from both (yes, that means multiple sneak peeks so buckle up). I think it kind of says a lot upon reflection that most of my favourite scenes/quotes are from times where they're intimate but openly communicating 🥺
In F&F definitely when Rem first manifests her signet and she's crying and overstimulated and he's laughing but comforting her all the same.
I flinch, closing my eyes against tears as he turns back toward me. “Remi,” he says gently. “Look at me.” I shake my head, keeping my eyes firmly shut as the tears spill over, running down my cheeks. He laughs softly and I shake as I feel his hands on my face, pulling me close. “Angel,” he says quietly, “why are you crying?” “I don’t know,” I whimper as he holds me to him, wrapping his arms around my shoulders.
Maybe the scene by the lake where she threatens him?
“And Xaden?” My voice is gentle and he freezes in place, only a foot away. He turns his head, barely glancing over his shoulder. I let my hand shoot forward, pressing the dagger I’ve palmed from my corset against his spine. “You don’t ever speak to, or handle me, so disrespectfully ever again.” I tell him warningly, holding his gaze. “There are so many things I could do to you that would still leave Sgaeyl intact.”
And when he tells her he loves her 🥺
“I love you, Remi.” He skates a gentle hand across my cheek and my heart begins to pound in my chest. “So much.” He cradles my face as his onyx eyes hold my gaze. “I love you in a way I never thought possible. You’re—you’re everything to me. I’d burn the world for you.” I swallow hard, blinking back tears. I’d known already that he loved me—I could tell from his actions and the way he always held me like I was something precious. I didn’t need the words, but… “I love you too, Xaden. You’re my stars,” I tip my head back so he can kiss me again, softer this time, “my centre of gravity.” I whisper. “I love you more than anything.” He presses his forehead to mine, clutching me tightly like if he blinks, I’ll disappear. “Promise me you won’t leave.” He begs quietly. “Promise me.” “I already told you,” I whisper softly, “for as long as you love me in return, you’ll never be alone again.” It breaks my heart that he’s still so convinced I’m going to hate him—that he believes there’s no possibility that I’ll stay.
In T&T definitely the reunion and the scene that follows, for which I'm keeping the best lines to myself for now, because I want you all to experience them in context, but... (Ch9-10)
“I don’t know.” I admit quietly and his expression shutters. “We need to talk about it—about so many things.” I tell him. “I can’t figure this out on my own.” It took me a while to realise that. “But what I do know is that I love you.” I tell him firmly. “Xaden,” I cup his jaw gently, “as long as you love me in return—” “I’ll never be alone again.” He whispers, finishing my sentence like it’s a common refrain, something he’s repeated to himself over and over, and I close my eyes for a second, willing myself not to cry.
This moment in (approximately) Ch14? I think? Where they have both fucked up.
“I thank Amari every day that you gave me a second chance, because no one else will ever meet my standards. I know exactly how strong you are, Remi Sorrengail.” I bury my face in his neck, trying to force back the tears that prick my eyes. “I’m sorry.” I choke out, trembling slightly against him. “I feel like I let you down.”   “No, angel.” He says quietly, cradling me close. “You didn’t let me down.” His arms tighten around me.
And this whole scene where Remi almost dislocates her hip, that looks like it's going to sit around Ch17-ish
“Come here.” He slides away and in a second he’s hovering over me, pulling my leg out straight. His hands gently manoeuvre me this way and that, his thumbs kneading my thigh. “Stretch it out and then we can try again.”  I huff. “I’ve killed the mood already.” I mutter. “What’s the point?”  He stops, lacing his hands together over my thigh and then drops his chin down on top of them as he stares up at me amusedly. “Bold of you to assume you know how I feel.” He challenges.  “Are you still hard?”  “Are you in charge?”  We stare at each other for a moment before my lips twitch, just slightly, and then he’s grinning, dragging his teeth over the skin at the top of my thigh as I laugh softly. “Stop being a brat.” He chides, nipping gently as he pushes himself up, crawling over me. “Follow the rules.”
And yes, in case you were wondering that's just the tip of the iceberg and I plan to ruin you all xx 😇

His chin rests atop my head. “Don’t listen to them.” He comforts me, tucking my face into his neck beneath his chin, like he knows I’m a hairsbreadth away from breaking and I won’t want my mother to see that.  “You do what you need to do to survive.” He instructs.  “Even if it means people are…repulsed by my existence?” I frown, trying to keep myself from shaking. I’ve never been popular—never wanted to be, I don’t like other people—but the complete and constant misjudgement of my character is getting to me. I’m not the awful person they think I am and while that reputation can sometimes be useful to take advantage of, it’s also…hurtful.  “No one’s repulsed by you, angel.” He chuckles quietly. “They’re scared of you, the same way they’re scared of me.”
