Seasonal feathers
It's my first public fanfic so I hope you enjoy ^-^
The falling powder snow
Dyes the ridge of the mountains white
In a dilapitated house in an abandoned village,
we huddled together on a winter's night
Kuro and Shu were embracing each other near the heat of the fire as snow fell down from the sky
"When we first met, it was snowing wasn't it?" Kuro murmured, smiling as Shu hid her face in the shadows of kuro's sleeve.
• • •
With spring coming and with the delight of renewal, Shu sang along with the chirping of the birds. "What a beautiful voice," kuro said which made shu overjoyed
"Someday, even if this beautiful voice was gone,
would you still love me?"
"Of course," kuro replied, and gently laughing,
stroked Shu's cheek with his big hand
• • •
On a summer afternoon, with the fresh leaves shining
Kuro collapsed in illness
They were poor,
and couldn't afford the medicine which would heal kuro
The next day, and the day after
Shu worked the loom nonstop
She couldn't let his life disappear
Like the fleeting leaves of fall
• • •
The seasons flowed, The end of summer is announced by bell insects in the forest,
"What beautiful fingers," kuro said, grasping Shu's wounded hands,
Those hands were much to cold...
"Someday, even if these beautiful fingers were gone,
would you still love me?"
"Of course," kuro replied, and as he coughed, and enveloped her stinging fingers with his hands

Through day and night she continued weaving continued weaving
"Quickly, quickly, if I don't obtain medicine..." Shu said in a panic
"A little more, just a little more, before the autumn leaves scatter" almost tearing up
"'Till these fingers stop... Until my feathers are all gone..." Ripping off another feather from her back
--Ah the wind of the setting sun--
--The ruthless rotting of fruit--
--The lamp light sways, and falls--
"Someday, even if I wasn't human
would you still love me?"
Terrified of telling kuro the truth,
Shu quietly weaved the last feather alone...
"Of course," kuro laughed
Embracing shu, who had just lost her wings, he said
"Even now, I'll always remember the crane of that day,
Which flew so beautifully"
"And now I'll always love you" kuro said with a smile so bright.
