aphrodite was a war goddess, but i think it’s a little more complicated than just that. greek gods are hardly monolithic in their depictions so sort of depends on where and when she was being worshipped.

for example, earlier on before she was widely worshipped, sparta liked to depict her as aphrodite areia, who was very much a war goddess. later on as her worship was more widespread that interpretation of her was a bit controversial or contradictory to latter, more popular depictions of her where she was solely a goddess of love and beauty. there’s even a line in the trojan war where she’s told to stay off the battlefield 😭

SHUT ITTTTTTTTTT !!!!! in a universe where she's not a villain and it's like almost an accident.... and reader's like... huh guess my innate quirk isn't that strong or whatever. meanwhile Katsuki's veins are popping out of his neck and he's white knuckling it under the table bc he wants you so bad he thinks he'll die.

but imagine that reader's a villain and they're having a tension laced conversation in a completely empty warehouse, tuckedunder one of the rickety old lights. reader's got her quirk going, pumping out that delightfully sweet scent she makes that doubles as a powerful aphrodisiac, waiting for Katsuki to cave... and he just.. doesn't. and it's pissed her right the fuck off.

he seems normal, scowling and narrowing his eyes and stalking around her as he tries to figure out what her game is. there really is no game. all he has to do is be in her vicinity for long enough, but after twenty minutes he seems normal and she knows that the clock is running out. but then, of course, he caves. the quirk he'd been trying so hard to resist causing his knees to buckle. and reader wants him to touch her, but the way it took so long was annoying and now she thinks she'll probably make him wait for it. have him crawling on his knees just to touch her ankles.

HI HELLO im rereading the isagi gym hcs and going BONKERS over it and you know??? isagi is the type to always gently fix you into the right posture and make corrections that you can't quite tell are earnest or teasing

ie. "c'mon, you gotta arch your back. scoot up a bit, i'll show you" and then using the excuse just to touch you (to his credit, he DOES fix your stance but it's with ulterior motives)

AND? i think afterwards after stretching and cool downs, depending on how you feel about like gym calluses, he always has some hand cream on him and likes to personally massage it into the divets of your palms as a "good job!! come back with me again!!!"

But in this very moment, with a 15kg barbell about to press into your chest and knock the wind out of your being, it's hard to say that.

Actually. 

It's literally hard to say that because you're being robbed of your oxygen, and all your boyfriend does is watch you with a resolute glint set in his eyes as it happens.

Isagi's fingers lightly graze the rod you're holding and he helps you guide it towards its hook on the rack— of course, without actually doing so. He smiles when he catches the disgruntled frown that tugs at the corners of your lips.

"One more left."

You grunt in acknowledgement as you force yourself to finish the last rep of the set he encouraged you to complete. 

You lift your leg as leverage to help yourself practically hurl the damn bar into its default position on the rack. But Isagi's knee is quick to press down on your thigh, which effectively brings your foot back down to the floor, making the whole process painstakingly difficult again. 

Once you manage to successfully raise your arms high enough for the bar to fasten into place, you immediately heave yourself off the bench and station yourself into a slumped position.

Isagi presses his hand against the nape of your neck, ignoring your low groans about how you're all sweaty. His thumb finds purchase a few spaces below where your jaw meets your ear, and he rubs small circles into your skin.  

"See," his voice is light, delicate and flowing, "was that so bad?" He asks, posing his question as if he didn't make you go through hell and back a few minutes prior.

"Yes!?"

Through many trials and errors, you complete yet another day of accompanying Isagi to the gym. You're kinda like an accessory at this point, one that he loves to bring around everywhere.

"I'm never going training with you ever again."

Across from where you're seated, Isagi watches you press your cheek against the cool surface of the gym's cafe table. He assumes that it's most likely acting as a suppressant from the unbearable heat and discomfort you are currently experiencing.

"You said the same thing last week when I brought you," he responds, pressing his fingertips affectionately onto the palm of your outstretched hand.

You immediately shoot up from the slothful position you once took on the table— which: Woah, bad idea because you start feeling woozy again— and shoot Isagi an incredulous look.

"You said today's workout would be easier!" You complain, pointing a weak yet accusatory finger with your free hand at the male. He's still squeezing and tracing the lines onto your other palm. "That's the only reason why I agreed to come."  

That was a lie. You know it, and you're starting to think that he knows it as well.

Training with Isagi was fun. But only in the sense that you got to watch him do his sets because... well...

Your gaze flicks down to the compression sleeves that poke out from the loosely fitted shirt he threw on in the changeroom before meeting you in the lobby.

...Yeah. That's definitely a factor too.
