Bureau of Investigation Founded

SECRET SERVICE VETERANS JOIN STAFF. PROMISE TO ROOT OUT ORGANIZED CRIME.

The Attorney General has formed an autonomous investigative agency to be headed up by veteran law enforcement officer Edgar Ross in an attempt to track high profile and dangerous criminals. The Bureau will also be tasked with investigating financial fraud and other organized crimes.

Ross served for many years as a senior agent with the Pinkerton Detective Agency under the mentorship of the late Andrew Milton and then went on to work at the National Bureau of Criminal Identification, founded by the National Chiefs of Police Union in 1896, which was tasked to record information on criminals and gangs and work with law enforcement. He has been billed as one of the most humble, innovative and honest law enforcement officers of his class, and colleagues say that Ross produces results where others fail. Upon swearing in, he stated: "I want all criminals to know that here in America, everyone will eventually pay for what they have done."

Unrest in the Tropics

COST OF FOOD, FUEL ANGERS CITIZENS. SUGAR BARONS TO BLAME.

Island residents from Barbados to Cuba are experiencing soaring prices and short supply of food and fuel. They are blaming local politicians and sugar barons for the situation. Shortly after the political unrest in the area, including the assassination of prominent sugar industry advocate and Guarman governor Alberto Fussar in 1899, American banking institutions, including JD McKnight and Co., took control of the sugar industry on several islands, including Barbados, the Virgin Islands, and Guarma.

Fields which once flourished with locally grown foods and were used to feed the island nation suddenly switched to growing sugar cane. As a result of a single crop economy, all foodstuffs are imported, to great expense for local peoples. Foreign investors hire locals to guard and police their massive plantations, subjecting workers to harsh conditions and penalties.

Local groups argue that island residents are suffering the most, while businesses say heavy investments by American financial institutions have allowed for the revitalization of the local economies.

'We Are Helpless'

A cacophony of outrage has been building at the lawlessness that prevails in towns across the area. Numerous outlaw gangs seem to operate unchecked or unstoppable by law enforcement, rendering terrified citizens helpless. The reward for the killing or capture of infamous outlaw Micah Bell and his gang was recently increased by government officials in response to the unanimous outcry from citizens that something must be done about this murderous gang of thieves and killers.

Mr. Bell and his associates continue their spree of killing and robbing while running roughshod over law enforcement. His acts of lawlessness rival that of Van der Linde himself. They pay no debts and dynamite banks and buildings as a recreational pastime. Bell has long been a suspect in the Blackwater Bank Robbery and Strawberry massacre back in 1899 and numerous train robberies that have ended in dismemberment or death of passengers in the years since then. Little is known of Mr. Bell's origins.

Reverend Swanson Leads NY Church

DELIVERS POWERFUL MESSAGE

Reverend Orville Swanson was inducted into his official capacity as minister at the First Congregational Church of New York this week, having moved to the city to accept the position. A service was held and then a reception was given to celebrate the appointment. Encouraging reports from attendees indicate that Reverend Swanson delivered an impassioned and heartfelt sermon about acknowledging sin and seeking redemption. He spoke about his own break from faith, a dark period when he could not attend church, falling into sin, depravity and wanton gluttony.

Tallulah Jetty Gang Killed

BANK RAIDED IN BROAD DAYLIGHT. CITIZENS FORM POSSE.

United States Marshal Fulkerton received a dispatch from Silver Springs indicating that after years of evading capture, the Tallulah Jetty Gang was chased down after a brazen bank robbery in broad daylight. After a series of outrages, including the killing of several women and elders, officers placed 200 men in pursuit of the gang, which was overtaken near Anadarko.

A combination force of Cherokee Indians and a militia formed after the bank robbery pursued the gang to a cave in the bluffs south of the area, where a spectacular gun battle took place, killing several officers. After a period of quiet, one man entered the cave where he found a gravely wounded William Bishop bleeding out next to deceased henchmen Harold Sutton and James Shaw.

Liquor Smuggled Into Indian Territory

DEPUTIES PURSUE OUTLAWS, ONE KILLED.

A dispatch received from Comanche Indian territory yesterday says that Deputy United States Marshal Tidwell and another deputy attempted to arrest Cletus Yarnell and Lawrence Branch for introducing intoxicating liquors into Indian Territory. The outlaws resisted arrest and a gun battle ensued, with Marshal Tidwell's horse being shot out from under him. The desperados fled into Indian territory and were pursued. Yarnell was mortally wounded, Branch was arrested.

Bubonic Plague in San Francisco

CITY STILL REELING AFTER EARTHQUAKE THAT KILLED 3,000.

After an earthquake that destroyed 80 percent of the city and killed over 3,000 people, the city of San Francisco now reports that a second epidemic of bubonic plague has broken out. It is believed the outbreak is due to the large number of rats in the area. Fleas from infected rats transmit the disease, resulting in fever symptoms, seizures, gangrene and necrosis of the extremities, along with, in many cases, death.

New Railroad Completed

The final ties were laid and spikes driven through to complete the Central Union rail line stretching through New Hanover. Passengers will be able to bypass the Grizzlies, Rhodes, and Scarlett Meadows, drastically reducing travel time. Now with a direct line connecting Cornwall Kerosene and Tar and Saint Denis, freight and commuters will flow fast and freely.

The project came with complications, including controversy over missing workers' wages and a land dispute. Representatives from towns such as Van Horn Trading Post and Annesburg say the new line will result in the decline of their towns. Last year while fishing in the Alaskan territories, I soon discovered that a family of bears was fishing too, and one particularly angry Kodiak took exception to my overwhelming success of pulling dozens of Sockeye Salmon out of the water. I could not blame him; however, now his head sits sentry above my foyer with a salmon in its mouth, a testament to the hunter becoming the hunted.

In cold streams, and particularly in the Grizzlies, salmon will strike river lures and are possibly the best tasting fish you can bring home for supper. They are so plentiful you may take as many as you like with no consequence. Happy casting.

Barbados Records First Homicide for the Year

Barbados has recorded its first homicide for the year.

31-year-old Shane Parris of Mangrove, St. Philip, is the country’s latest shooting victim.

Barbados Police Service Communications and Public Affairs Officer, Inspector Rodney Inniss confirmed that Parris died at the scene of the shooting at Nursery #2, Four Roads, St. Philip.

He said police received a call about the incident around 11:05 a.m.

Police have identified the man shot and killed at Silver Sands, Christ Church this morning.

He is Jamal Clarke, 30, of Bournes Land, Sayers Court, Silver Sands, Christ Church.

A police statement said officers at the Oistins Police Station received a report around 8:20 a.m. from a male who said that his brother was shot about his body, whilst along the roadway at Silver Sands.

Clarke was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a private motor vehicle but was subsequently pronounced dead on arrival.

The Barbados Police Service is appealing to anyone who can provide any information about the incident to contact Police emergency at 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477), the Oistins Police Station at 418-2612 or any Police Station.

But then, given its subject, perhaps we should not have been taken aback. The sentiments were universally heartfelt and the loyalty clear. We are therefore awarding three prizes. Two were written in English and one in French: naturally, we are not translating them! The first is a subtle evocation of The Queen’s sense of duty and her love of horses - the poet’s reference to giving up riding was of course an allusion to HM’s ceasing to ride at Trooping the Colour - she enjoys riding as relaxation to this day! The second is true to the spirit of Holst’s stirring melody, known to many as “I Vow to Thee, My Country.” And the third, the winner, explores HM’s Realms whimsically with a touch of gravity by means of their national foods. Rihanna's whole "work, work, work, work, work" has been recognised by her homeland. Barbados' Prime Minister Mia Mottley called the musician and entrepreneur the country's 11th national hero as the island celebrated becoming a republic for the first time in history. "Ambassador Robyn Rihanna Fenty has shown innovative and pioneering leadership in her service to Barbados," Prime Minister Mia Mottley said during the Monday night event. The 33-year-old "Umbrella" singer collected the award while dressed in an orange Bottega Veneta gown with multiple huge braids. "May you continue to shine like a diamond and bring respect to your country," Prime Minister Mottley said, using the singer's song "Diamonds" from 2012.

Today we remember the passing of Nina Simone who Died: April 21, 2003 in Carry-le-Rouet, France

Eunice Kathleen Waymon (February 21, 1933 – April 21, 2003), known professionally as Nina Simone, was an American singer, songwriter, musician, arranger, and civil rights activist. Her music spanned a broad range of musical styles including classical, jazz, blues, folk, R&B, gospel, and pop.

The sixth of eight children born to a poor family in Tryon, North Carolina, Simone initially aspired to be a concert pianist. With the help of a few supporters in her hometown, she enrolled in the Juilliard School of Music in New York City. She then applied for a scholarship to study at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where she was denied admission despite a well-received audition, which she attributed to racial discrimination. In 2003, just days before her death, the Institute awarded her an honorary degree.

To make a living, Simone started playing piano at a nightclub in Atlantic City. She changed her name to "Nina Simone" to disguise herself from family members, having chosen to play "the devil's music" or so-called "cocktail piano". She was told in the nightclub that she would have to sing to her own accompaniment, which effectively launched her career as a jazz vocalist. She went on to record more than 40 albums between 1958 and 1974, making her debut with Little Girl Blue. She had a hit single in the United States in 1958 with "I Loves You, Porgy". Her musical style fused gospel and pop with classical music, in particular Johann Sebastian Bach, and accompanied expressive, jazz-like singing in her contralto voice.

The sixth of eight children in a poor family, she began playing piano at the age of three or four; the first song she learned was "God Be With You, Till We Meet Again". Demonstrating a talent with the piano, she performed at her local church. Her concert debut, a classical recital, was given when she was 12. Simone later said that during this performance, her parents, who had taken seats in the front row, were forced to move to the back of the hall to make way for white people. She said that she refused to play until her parents were moved back to the front, and that the incident contributed to her later involvement in the civil rights movement. Simone's mother, Mary Kate Waymon (née Irvin, November 20, 1901 – April 30, 2001), was a Methodist minister and a housemaid. Her father, Rev. John Devan Waymon (June 24, 1898 – October 23, 1972), was a handyman who at one time owned a dry-cleaning business, but also suffered bouts of ill health. Simone's music teacher helped establish a special fund to pay for her education. Subsequently, a local fund was set up to assist her continued education. With the help of this scholarship money, she was able to attend Allen High School for Girls in Asheville, North Carolina.

In order to fund her private lessons, Simone performed at the Midtown Bar & Grill on Pacific Avenue in Atlantic City, New Jersey, whose owner insisted that she sing as well as play the piano, which increased her income to $90 a week. In 1954, she adopted the stage name "Nina Simone". "Nina", derived from niña, was a nickname given to her by a boyfriend named Chico, and "Simone" was taken from the French actress Simone Signoret, whom she had seen in the 1952 movie Casque d'Or. Knowing her mother would not approve of playing "the Devil's music", she used her new stage name to remain undetected. Simone's mixture of jazz, blues, and classical music in her performances at the bar earned her a small but loyal fan base.

After the success of Little Girl Blue, Simone signed a contract with Colpix Records and recorded a multitude of studio and live albums. Colpix relinquished all creative control to her, including the choice of material that would be recorded, in exchange for her signing the contract with them. After the release of her live album Nina Simone at Town Hall, Simone became a favorite performer in Greenwich Village. By this time, Simone performed pop music only to make money to continue her classical music studies, and was indifferent about having a recording contract. She kept this attitude toward the record industry for most of her career.

Simone married a New York police detective, Andrew Stroud, in December, 1961. In few years he became her manager and the father of her daughter Lisa, but later he abused Simone psychologically and physically.

In 1964, Simone changed record distributors from Colpix, an American company, to the Dutch Philips Records, which meant a change in the content of her recordings. She had always included songs in her repertoire that drew on her African-American heritage, such as "Brown Baby" by Oscar Brown and "Zungo" by Michael Olatunji on her album Nina at the Village Gate in 1962. On her debut album for Philips, Nina Simone in Concert (1964), for the first time she addressed racial inequality in the United States in the song "Mississippi Goddam". This was her response to the June 12, 1963, murder of Medgar Evers and the September 15, 1963, bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, that killed four young black girls and partly blinded a fifth. She said that the song was "like throwing ten bullets back at them", becoming one of many other protest songs written by Simone. The song was released as a single, and it was boycotted in some southern states. Promotional copies were smashed by a Carolina radio station and returned to Philips. She later recalled how "Mississippi Goddam" was her "first civil rights song" and that the song came to her "in a rush of fury, hatred and determination". The song challenged the belief that race relations could change gradually and called for more immediate developments: "me and my people are just about due". It was a key moment in her path to Civil Rights activism. "Old Jim Crow", on the same album, addressed the Jim Crow laws. After "Mississippi Goddam", a civil rights message was the norm in Simone's recordings and became part of her concerts. As her political activism rose, the rate of release of her music slowed.

Simone performed and spoke at civil rights meetings, such as at the Selma to Montgomery marches. Like Malcolm X, her neighbor in Mount Vernon, New York, she supported black nationalism and advocated violent revolution rather than Martin Luther King Jr.'s non-violent approach. She hoped that African Americans could use armed combat to form a separate state, though she wrote in her autobiography that she and her family regarded all races as equal.

In 1967, Simone moved from Philips to RCA Victor. She sang "Backlash Blues" written by her friend, Harlem Renaissance leader Langston Hughes, on her first RCA album, Nina Simone Sings the Blues (1967). On Silk & Soul (1967), she recorded Billy Taylor's "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free" and "Turning Point". The album 'Nuff Said! (1968) contained live recordings from the Westbury Music Fair of April 7, 1968, three days after the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. She dedicated the performance to him and sang "Why? (The King of Love Is Dead)", a song written by her bass player, Gene Taylor. In 1969, she performed at the Harlem Cultural Festival in Harlem's Mount Morris Park.

Simone and Weldon Irvine turned the unfinished play To Be Young, Gifted and Black by Lorraine Hansberry into a civil rights song of the same name. She credited her friend Hansberry with cultivating her social and political consciousness. She performed the song live on the album Black Gold (1970). A studio recording was released as a single, and renditions of the song have been recorded by Aretha Franklin (on her 1972 album Young, Gifted and Black) and Donny Hathaway. When reflecting on this period, she wrote in her autobiography, "I felt more alive then than I feel now because I was needed, and I could sing something to help my people".

In an interview for Jet magazine, Simone stated that her controversial song "Mississippi Goddam" harmed her career. She claimed that the music industry punished her by boycotting her records. Hurt and disappointed, Simone left the US in September 1970, flying to Barbados and expecting her husband and manager (Andrew Stroud) to communicate with her when she had to perform again. However, Stroud interpreted Simone's sudden disappearance, and the fact that she had left behind her wedding ring, as an indication of her desire for a divorce. As her manager, Stroud was in charge of Simone's income.

In 1993, she settled near Aix-en-Provence in southern France (Bouches-du-Rhône). In the same year, her final album, A Single Woman, was released. She variously contended that she married or had a love affair with a Tunisian around this time, but that their relationship ended because, "His family didn't want him to move to France, and France didn't want him because he's a North African." During a 1998 performance in Newark, she announced, "If you're going to come see me again, you've got to come to France, because I am not coming back." She suffered from breast cancer for several years before she died in her sleep at her home in Carry-le-Rouet (Bouches-du-Rhône), on April 21, 2003. Her funeral service was attended by singers Miriam Makeba and Patti LaBelle, poet Sonia Sanchez, actors Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, and hundreds of others. Simone's ashes were scattered in several African countries. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Celeste Stroud, an actress and singer, who took the stage name Simone, and who has appeared on Broadway in Aida.

I'm a proud Great British citizen.

I have always found my Bajan family almost devoid of any humour and they scared the shite out of me especially my father Hugh when I was a child.

My Grandmother Dorothy Nella Payne was a Tom boy when she was young riding with the boys on her bicycle to the steepest hill in Barbados and racing them down like a banshee she was respected by the boys.

When I was four years old my family arranged for me to fly to Barbados for a vacation with my uncle Clyde and see my family and the beautiful home from home that every racist Metropolitan Police officer brags about going to on holiday and then persecutes the Carribbean community in Great Britain when they return it is this attitude towards my family and myself that has been my life work.

I have been forced to investigate the Metropolitan Police corruption because it is the source of instability in our Great British community and the wider society. I was set up to be attacked before I was conceived because the Metropolitan Police corruption had decided that they would target my father in any way they could including the abuse of his child to get their way against the black man.

We are not born free in this world we are born into the jungle of corruption created by the world of men who rape the natural world and kill in pursuing wealth and influence.

On this planet earth there is so much wealth that every individual human being can be born wealthy and live wealthy and die wealthy equal opportunity for all with a united human race caring and nurturing the world looking after the planet earth and developing our collective potential for growth of the human race.

What we have is team EMU running this planet earth and team EMU are Endless Mismanagement United the worst team in the entire observable universe.

There is more intelligence and wisdom and knowledge and expertise and strategic planning and development of projects and services and industry contained within a typical colony of ants than the leadership of this collection of strategists calling themselves world leaders will ever have.

The team that controls the world of men is an absolute failure.

They are slaves to their selfish ignorant pursuit of power and they have no power but they are drenched in evil and the cowardice of the devil and his hell creatures they look human but they are inhuman and imposters on our world.

Politics in the current form throughout the world is unfit for our planet earth and the world of human beings and despite the fact that the planet earth is beginning to destabilise in terms of supporting humanity in the future these assholes continue to act as if they are important to our future.

If the current situation of global politics wants to control us as a humanity and lead us to our untimely passing as a race created by the planet earth then we will ensure that there is a choice of outcome for our planet earth and our humanity in the future.

There is no rational legal or justifiable argument for the destruction of the human race and the planet earth so those in our way need to change now and justify the expense of their failure to us the human race.

A world of 7 billion human beings is not going to be destroyed by the 200 or so leaders of nations that enslave our future children and adults and destroy our home planet earth and brutalise us because they want what some fucking money are you sure.

Back to flying to Barbados so I realise at the airport no one is coming with me on this flight to Barbados this is my world among busy hard working crazy Bajan people that assure me that they are my family honestly I may as well have tried to communicate with extraterrestrials.

Seriously though I was abused by a white children abuser and burned with cigarettes and my Bajan family saved my life and secured custody of me but every time they looked at me I saw that things were tense and raw.

My father was and is with my uncle Clyde a fucking hard bastard.

No one ever treated me like a normal child in my Bajan family who came to Great Britain in 1962 my Grandmother Dorothy Nella Payne decided she would literally possess me like some fabled sacred religious sign of her love and devotion to God.

My father wanted to deal with the Metropolitan Police corruption and kill the paedophilic bastard but was told by my Grandmother you do that and you will be destroyed by the Metropolitan Police corruption they are setting you up son so they can jail you.

My uncle was attacked by a white racist man with a hammer and my great uncle Clyde only showed me love as a child but my father would in later life explain to me that of the five brothers Clyde was the dangerous one in a fight.

As a mixed race skinhead of 23 years and known as a handful even to the local gypsy sites where I grew up in Footscray my uncle Clyde once told me anytime you want to fight me I will whip you boy I am too fast for you.

I was always teased by my Bajan family but you know something they never said a word that wasn't true to me everything they said would happen if I didn't apply myself came true.

No one from Trinidad Jamaica and Barbados here in England in my family is as destitute and forlorn ragged and poor as me.

Today I am absolutely in love with my family because I had it easier than they did but the abuse fucked me up badly and I tried to communicate with my Bajan family but they just said forget that it won't help you to dwell on that they were right but I felt rejected and I am not great at rejection.

In the last two years I have written a hundred letters to my family and not followed up by sending a single letter.

Here I am today thoroughly enjoying writing this letter to the outside world of my Tumblr community and family sorry I have adopted Tumblr as a sort of long lost aunt or something.

The man with the hammer got nowhere with my uncle Clyde and I love him.

My cousin's Angele and Sharon are my Auntie Gloria's daughters she is one of my Grandmother's sisters and she is no joke good lord no joke at all she was married to my amazing uncle Indar.

Sharon is an actress and also a trustee for a charity that protects children from online abuse Angele is a doctor.

Dad was a race car driver and metallurgist Uncle Clyde built cars for Ford Granny was a banker and mathematics teacher Indar was a structural and architectural and environmental engineering specialist Mum was a legal case typing expert my Nan on Mums side of the family was a hospital manager my Grandad married to her created the Licenced Taxi Drivers Association for London black cabs his son my uncle Phil was a Royal Green Jacket soldier the best sniper in his regiment.

And me in the midst of all this talent I was just a little kid that got abused.

When they saw the potential in me I was just confused about what they meant. I couldn't take their praise because I couldn't trust adults after being abused I couldn't trust myself.

When I rejected them and they retracted their love I then couldn't function without their love and decided they had failed me and I got angry and fucked up even more.
