As somebody who has been reading CP since basically the beginning (YEARS of my LIFE) I just want to say it's deeply cathartic to read so many good and valid points in the #omgcp critical tag, and on your Tumblr specifically. I just fell out of love with the comic (and yet read it religiously) as it continued to explore shit I just didn't care about at a breakneck speed. I wanted more from the story and now that it's over, I just keep thinking about the what ifs, and what coulda been (1/5 sorry!)

I forgot I had gotten the Chirpbook so I started re-reading the comic and extras while going through it, and it just made me sad and angry. And that's so stupid, because what am I owed? It's not my creation, I didn't dedicate my life to making it, I didn't even work hard to making fanart or fics or anything. But it's a testament to how good it once was, and how well-written and interesting all the characters were. (2/5)

I'm not sad or angry because I felt like I wasted my time. I have no regrets reading it, or putting money towards supporting it. I felt sad and angry on behalf of the characters! We didn't get to see their lives, their stories unfold. I don't care about Bitty's stupid happy ending! It was so damn ham-fisted, and Ngozi ran towards that finish line like she was running from us. Running from this world that she created and that people wanted to see more of that she herself never explored. (3/5)

You know what really made me upset? Like hurt my heart kind of upset? This right here: post/614955421203038208 I know the Ask a Wellies aren't the most serious things, but I was INTERESTED! I wanted to know what Kent had been up to! I wanted to what everybody was up to in general! I wanted to see Shitty dealing with law school, and see how Lardo was handling being an physical artist in the age of digital media, and Rans/Holster/the frogs/Whiskey etc! (4/5)

I'm going to avoid getting into the portrayal of queer characters outside of Bitty and Jack (and there's plenty of problems there too Jesus) but I think we can all agree BEING IN THE CLOSET DOESN'T MAKE YOU A BAD PERSON. Anyways, sorry for rambling, this was truly just stream of consciousness writing. I probably coulda made my own post but your posts/reblogs really say everything I wanted to, and I appreciate the real discussion and breakdown. Again, it's very validating. (5/5) - @pharaohwizard

        Hi! Sorry for the late reply but I love all of this! I’m really glad you enjoyed my critical posts and I know that for me, they definitely helped me figure out why I was feeling so disappointed in the comic. Y1 and 2 really made people fall in love with the comic and all the characters, so it was definitely a disappointment to go from how great it was then to what it is now.

        I’d say that Ngozi’s attachment to the fandom and inability to create boundaries between fans and the creator really contributed to the downfall of the comic. And with the story changing so much from what she intended at first, maybe she got sick of it too? Or maybe she just bought into the mindset of her stans and decided that Bitty and Jack winning by not earning it really did make for a good story. Either way, I will always mourn what we could have had. The side characters, and especially Kent and Whiskey, would thrive with a different creator or in a different fandom. But this is what we get, unfortunately.

        Thank you for sharing your feelings! It’s always nice knowing there are other people who feel the same way that you can always connect with!

Carla is a homoromantic asexual woman.

As for Sarah, the problem is, there's a delicate balance we need to maintain. We don't want to give straight people more options than gay people, so for now, the distribution is 2/4/2, i.e. two straight, four bi/pan/etc., two gay. If we added in Sarah to the straight side, we'd have to include another straight male, gay male, and gay female to balance it out. If we included Sarah as multisexual, we would need another multisexual man, which is difficult with Dumbing of Age, as there are far more female characters than male characters. It's possible that we could include Jason or Joe, if the team decides a Sarah romance is worth pursuing.

Alternatively, we could switch out one of the existing female options with Sarah. Carla is already ruled out, since Sarah is not a lesbian, but Billie, Dorothy, or Sal could conceivably be replaced.

All in all, it's a mix of whom the team is interested in writing romances for, feasibility, and what the fandom wants.

On Demand services (Time Warner and Comcast) release Gravity Falls episodes a week early. So some fans are kind enough to upload them when they get them. But the episode hasn’t officially premiered on tv yet. When it does actually air be sure to catch it on tv whenever possible! Ratings are the lifeblood of long lasting cable shows.

Also, the concept of "social darwinism" doesn't work, because the thing that's hereditarily passed isn't skills or desirable traits, it's money, and if "social darwinism" does take its course, then there will be no poor people, which means rich people won't have anyone to pay to do their work for them, and they'll have to either actually do work themselves, or allow the economy to collapse. I hate to agree with Syndrome here, but if everybody's super, then no one is.
