While we may not be fortunate enough to have hedgehogs visiting us, we do have a thriving colony of squirrels thanks to a number of old oak trees just outside our garden. Our cinnamon-dusted inhabitants are officially grey, but they have the most wonderful russet tint and are totally adorable 🧡🐿🍂 . The squirrels living in Honeyapple Meadow are the traditional red variety, but I suspect they love blackberries as much as ours do…and walnuts. If you ever want to become acquainted with a squirrel, offer up a walnut or two - you’ll have a friend for life! Or at least until the bag of walnuts is empty 🥜🌰🫘 .
