{Tokyo Disneyland’s Attic Bride}
Much like the American Mansion, the Japanese mansion has various different backstories that you can find on forums, from cast members and in other media.
The Fan Canon/Cast member Stories:
I don’t know if this is still used but this is a basic story constructed by mansion fans and one that I was told by a Ghost Hostess (In America the mansion has maids and butlers, in Japan the mansion has hosts and hostesses, now that’s settled, let’s get onto the goods) goes:
The bride’s name is Tai, short for the Chinese term ‘TaiTai’ which refers to the wife of a rich man or someone in nobility. Sometimes, an alternative way of writing and saying her name is ‘Tae’ which means ‘Crystal’ (consider this a nickname for her).
She was a 16-year-old girl who was incredibly creative, often admiring the tiny detail in things like vases and wallpaper and always preferred to be alone with her own imagination rather than among large groups of people, one of her favourite things to do when alone was dance and sing.
This story is fairly basic in which Tai immigrated from China with her family to start a new life and her parents decided it was the time to marry her off. She met with various suitors but never showed much interest in them. Various men wanted to marry the youthful young lady, but she refused every one of them and always preferred to enjoy whatever else was happening around them.
All hope on marrying their daughter seemed lost for her parents. Until one day when she fell in love with a rich man who owned the mansion, everything seemed so perfect. The groom had the wedding planned in a hurry and Tai never questioned why, she was just as eager to get married. Only, while she wanted it out of love, the groom was determined to get his hands on Tai’s money and inheritance, he never truly loved her, only her money.
The day of the wedding came and the ceremony was beautiful. However, the marriage only lasted until that night, when the groom stabbed her in the heart, he hid her body in the trunk in the attic of his mansion and forged a note, convincing her parents that she had run away. To this day, her soul still lurks in the attic.

The Bride’s Backstory according to the Matome Naver forums (translated by yours truly):
According to this backstory, the name of the bride is Emily Kabanov Gracey.
Emily was born into a wealthy family on Rhode Island, ever since she was a small child, her parents were determined for her to one day inherit their property. But unfortunately for them, Emily was strange girl and enjoyed staring at the patterns of flowers on the wallpaper for hours each day and although her parents were desperate to teach her responsibility for her status, she refused to understand the weight of her position.
Emily's parents were suddenly killed by a runaway carriage when she was only young, and the entire property of the Kabanov family was passed on to the unskilled heiress. It was during the funeral that she met Master Gracey, he had recently lost his wife and had been determined to comfort his wife's soul by becoming Buddhist. Emily, a sensitive 16-year-old girl, immediately fell in love after seeing his prestigious figure and his boyish face. When he applied for marriage between the two of them, Emily, who knew nothing, gladly agreed.
The wedding was beautiful and the bride looked magnificent in her dress. Though it wouldn’t last long, as an incident occurred in the Gracie House during the honeymoon. Madame Leota was waiting for a young bride, when the time came, she killed her and cleaned up the evidence.
Emily was young and still naughty, so she played hide-and-seek with the groom. She wanted to start this honeymoon game and couldn't wait to take off the wedding dress and change clothes into something more comfortable. When looking for a place to hide, she stumbled across the attic and could hear Master Gracey calling out to her, so, she quickly hid in the trunk. The inside was uncomfortable and suffocating, so after a few moments she tried to get out, only to hear a metal, scratching sound. Madame Leota locked the trunk in order to eliminate the bride and gain Master Gracie’s affection. Unfortunately, the young bride died of suffocation.
To this day, her screams are heard alongside the beating of her heart, and her ghost stands by the trunk that killed her.

Movie Plotline:
Surprisingly, the 2004 Haunted Mansion movie starring Eddie Murphy is pretty well loved in Japan! So a lot of fans also follow the idea that the bride is Elizabeth Henshaw! We already know that story so I’m not covering that here.
More fun Stuff!
- Her design is made to coincide with Japanese beauty standards. She has a very prominent double lid, very neat hair with blunt bangs, a small chin, a pouty lip and she’s very small. (Around 5’1” comparing to the 5,3” of the American brides). Her bouquet also has bits of lace in it and her hair is actually a blonde Lolita wig!
- She glows either blue or purple depending on the lighting used that day, but unlike the American Bride, her heart is a bright pink!
- Some mansion fans like to say that her lighting shows her mood. If the bride is more purple, she is happy, if she is a dark blue, she is sad and if she is a medium blue (most common), she is neutral.
- The bride Is INCREDIBLY well received in Tokyo.
- For 2018 Halloween, she had a Minnie ears headband which sold out in a week!
- They rereleased it in 2019 (only they replaced the bat with a spider and instead of printing the logo on the back, it’s embroidered) and it sold out in a few days!!!
- She’s the most Disney bounded character during Halloween and the second most popular/cosplayed mansion character next to the hostesses.
- They also added in this glowing heart pendant which ALSO sold out!
- Along with a cute, glowing candle which, while it has Minnie mouse on it, people on Instagram and various social media keep using it for their Disney bounds of her and calling it the bride’s candle!
- During a Halloween parade in the early 2000’s, Clarice was seen dressed as her on a float. (GHOST BRIDE CLARICE WALKED SO THAT PARADE MEL, SPECTRAL CONSTANCE AND SPOOKY BOO EMILY COULD RUN)
- And then, as you all know, the parade version of Emily which debuted yesterday, her entire spiel is that she has to choose a suitor among the suitors dancing around her, all desperate for her hand in marriage, but she rejects them all, as she would much rather join in on the singing, dancing and festivities, this actually ties in with the lore that cast members tell you about:

In the wake of her husband’s death, June (who never remarried) became Randall’s sole caretaker, and although she worked countless jobs to keep herself and her son afloat, loved and adored her boy beyond compare, instilling him with many of the core values he still proudly carries with him to this day, while also trying to provide him with a happy, stable childhood

He may not have access to the extensive Gracey fortune (which Dorian still has, kept hidden away somewhere in the house), but he has no need for it whatsoever

Can be easily angered or upset by being brow-beaten for his Irish heritage (as he often was in life), hearing an implication that Emily never loved him and has moved on during her absence from the Mansion, or be shaken by the reminder of the deaths of himself, Emily, and his mother, all of which are hugely traumatic events to him

I’ve been drawing GH too much as of lately. Someone please help...
Anyways, in all honesty I love the Ghost Host. Ever since I joined the HM fandom last summer, I’ve seen multiple interpretations of him. But the variations I loved the most were @asktheghosthost and @whatwouldwaltdo‘s take on him. So my version of him is a bit like theirs, but with a bit of my own twist. To me, he’s definitely one of those guys that look scary and can sometimes have alarming behavior but deep down is just a sweetheart who actually does care (sometimes too much) about the people around him.
The first photo is just a simple drawing of him, nothing much.
The second photo needs some explaining. To me, GH is kind of like a “therapy character” to me. Usually with these characters I’ll draw them with either some sort of positive quote or something when I feel like I need to be put in a better mood. I have huge anxiety issues, and doing this helps me with that. (The imp girl you see in these drawings is me btw, or at least the way I draw myself).
Although one question I must ask myself is: WHY DO I HAVE A CRUSH ON THIS FRIGGIN GHOST? HIS VOICE IS JUST AND THE WAY SOME PEOPLE HEADCANON HIM IS JUST AAAAAAA-
In case any of you can’t read my shitty handwiriting:
Top: GH: How many times do I have to say “no flash pictures”?!
Middle: GH: Mortal, it’s ok! Calm yourself! It’ll be ok!
Bottom: Impy: Mr. Host, why must I have a crush on you?
Hope ya’ll like these! :>

☾ cute character questions ☽
THE BASICS.
NAME : Randall Huit Pace
AGE : 33 mentally; 235 physically
ZODIAC SIGN : Taurus
ONE GOOD TRAIT : Loyal
ONE BAD TRAIT : Hot-headed
HABITS.
ONE BAD HABIT : Randall can’t keep anything neat to save his life-living in an attic crammed from floor to ceiling might’ve influenced that, but just the same, his room is filled with stacks of hatboxes covered in dust and cobwebs, and on top of that, things such as fabrics, spools of thread, and needles litter the room. It’s a wonder he can find anything at all in there.
ONE GOOD HABIT : Randall is a remarkably loyal spook when it comes to those he’s close to, and has been known to sit and talk with those who need an ear lent to them. Little Leota likes to come up to the attic and sit with him, sometimes venting about her frustrations about her mother, as well as her affections for Beau; and when she manages to escape her home to Anaheim, Melanie Ravenswood likes to talk to Randall about her missing groom, reminiscing about happier days.
ONE HABIT THEY CAN’T BREAK : For the most part, Randall does not easily warm up to new people, usually remaining wary for sometime after meeting them, an action stemming from his life in New Orleans-people would fool him into thinking they were a potential friend, only to pull the rug out from underneath him, and he still fears it may happen again sometimes.
ONE THEY’VE BROKEN : Though he’s still about as curmudgeonly and grumpy as they get, Randall’s gotten better about coming out of the attic and spending time with the other happy haunts, becoming just a little more comfortable in being around them again. It’s a far cry from when he got back, and he hardly even left the attic at all, and talked even less to the others.
WHAT THEY’RE AFRAID OF : Banishment still terrifies him to no end, but what frightens him more is the thought of never seeing Emily again-he doesn’t want to face an eternity of living with Constance of all people, and the idea of doing so is one that keeps him up at night.
FAMILY.
THEIR PARENTS NAMES : Wilhelm and June Pace nee’ Burke
THEIR SIBLINGS NAMES : None
FAVORITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY : Spending time with Dorian at Gracey Manor: During his mother’s brief stint as the Gracey’s gardener, Randall and Dorian would spend hours together exploring the mansion, playing games and having fun, usually under the watchful eye of the Gracey’s butler, Beau. Their class differences (and Randall’s status as an Irish-American) mattered not to Dorian, and even though their time together was ultimately short in hindsight, it created a brotherly bond that can be seen even today.
FAVORITE CHILDHOOD TOY : Randall didn’t have a lot of toys growing up, but his favorite in particular was a teddy bear, which he named Knox. In the formative years of his life, Knox was Randall’s companion, him often cuddling the bear when he went to bed at night, or carrying him around the house. He still has the old toy, lovingly patched up after years of wear and tear, up on a shelf in his room.
EMBARRASSING STORY : Randall’s got a lot of embarrassing stories, but one that sticks out comes from his time with Dorian at Gracey Manor, and the two, bored, decided to go play with Dorian’s mother’s boudoir, getting into her jewelry and makeup and playing with them. Thankfully, neither of their mother’s found out what they had been up too, on account of Beau finding the two troublemakers and scolding them sharply before ushering them off to the bathroom to clean the makeup off their faces and making them put everything back where it belonged. Beau still likes to bring this story up, embarrassing both Dorian and Randall in the process.
FAVORITE FAMILY MEMBER : His mother! Given his father died when he was very young and he had no contact with any other family members, Randall was extremely close to his mother.
A STORY ABOUT THAT FAMILY MEMBER : June Pace was a good and loving mother to her only son, and tried to do what she could to make his life a little happier, make it a little less stressful. So, one Mardi Gras, she decided to purchase a couple of masks and slip out with her son in tow to see the balls-even if they couldn’t necessarily participate in the bigger parties thrown by the upper-class. Randall loved the sight of the colorful costumes and masks and decor, and he and his mother enjoyed the music and food before going home, happy for once.
WHAT THEY PREFER.
COFFEE OR TEA ? Coffee, preferably black, though he doesn’t object to a cup of hot tea, usually a special blend concocted by Madame Leota.
SHOWERING IN THE DAY OR NIGHT ? Morning-it helps him wake up a little more, and get prepared for the day. Every now and again, though, he’ll take a bath to relax in the evening, if it’s been a long day.
TAKING BATHS OR TAKING SHOWERS ? Baths. The tub in his bathroom does have a showerhead, and if he’s in a hurry, he’ll use it, but for the most part, he prefers to take baths.
TV OR MOVIES ? WRITING OR READING ? Movies and reading: Randall was fortunate enough to witness the birth of cinema as a spirit, and fell in love with it as a result, silent cinema in particular. As for reading, even if he’s not the best at it, he enjoys a good story, and always has, mostly thanks to the fairy tales his mother would read to him as a boy.
PLATONIC OR ROMANTIC LOVE ? Both! He deeply loves his wife, Emily, of course, there’s no two ways about that, but he deeply loves his friends as well, and values both of these loves greatly.
ICED TEA OR LEMONADE ? Lemonade-he doesn’t mind iced tea, but if given the choice, he’ll go for lemonade.
ICE CREAM OR SMOOTHIES ? Randall’s more partial to ice cream-particularly if it’s strawberry-flavored.
CUPCAKES OR CAKE ? Is there really a difference? He does prefer cake, though (and Gracey Manor has seen its fair share of fantastic cakes on its tables in the ballroom!)
BEACH OR MOUNTAINS ? Beach-Randall’s never really been to any mountainous areas, and prefers a calm, empty beach, particularly at night.
FAVOURITES.
SONG : Have I Told You Lately That I Love You? - he’s heard a lot of different versions over the years, but no matter who’s singing, he’ll sing along. He’s also partial to other modern love songs, like How Deep Is Your Love? and the like
BAND : He doesn’t have a particular favorite singer or band, but he’s fond of a lot of modern ones, and quite a few older ones-he has a phonograph in his room and a number of records that he’ll play from time to time, by a variety of artists.
OUTFIT : There’s a particularly nice suit he made several decades prior, a svelte jet-black suit with matching cape and hat, one he wore when going to the picturehouse with Emily. He plans to wear it when she returns.
PLACE : Admittedly, the attic is his favorite place to be-it’s his home, his sanctuary, a place where he has so many memories (both happy and sad). It’s a bittersweet place, but it’s his.
MEMORY : He has so many-being with his mother or Dorian, meeting Emily, returning to Gracey Manor...marrying Emily just might be his favorite, though.
PERSON : Emily, of course! His beautiful bride, who he loves more than any other woman in the world.
MOVIE : London After Midnight, a lost silent film from 1927-you should’ve seen the frustration on Randall’s face when Dori told him how long it’s been missing.
SHOW : None-Randall doesn’t watch too much TV!

post 8 facts about your character & tag eight other characters.
-Though his Irish remains a tad rusty (as he learned only so much from his father before his passing), Randall still manages to speak it quite well, even after all these centuries: Mostly, if he’s frustrated, he grumbles it under his breath, and if he wants to shoot an insult at Constance (who doesn’t understand Irish in the least), he’ll do it in said language, knowing she’ll never know what he just said.
-They’re both, technically speaking, in their hundreds now and possibly should be above such ‘childish’ things now, but since they never got to do it as children, Randall and Dorian have had a lot of slumber parties, mostly in Dorian’s room: They sit around in their pajama’s and talk until the wee hours of morning, lay pranks down for other spirits to run afoul of in the morning, play games, and just generally act like a couple of rowdy siblings.
-Randall has tried to contact his parents before: With the help of Madame Leota and a Ouija board, he has tried to find out where they are, since he’s never found them on Earth. The fact that the Ouija board won’t cooperate and Leota’s own inability to locate them only reinforces his belief that they made it to the afterlife, and are not bound to the mortal plane like he is.
-Some spooks are comfortable with showing what they looked like in their mortal days, such as Beau and Dorian, but Randall is not one of them: In some of the boxes tucked away in his room are some portraits of him when he was alive, but he feels embarrassed by them, and doesn’t feel comfortable showing them to people. Ezra calls them ‘baby pictures’, which doesn’t help matters, and only makes it sound even more embarrassing.
-Because he usually sleeps so poorly, Randall has the terrible habit of feeling asleep in strange places: Usually, one will find him sitting somewhere, his hatbox at his feet, leaning on his cane, fast asleep. Thankfully, even the most mischievous spooks won’t dare prank him, and usually, Beau is called upon to take Randall back up to his room-usually just outright carrying him back up, something he doesn’t mind doing.
-Though he has never (and never will be) a father, Randall still sometimes feels a little paternal when it comes to some spooks, such as Little Leota and Melanie Ravenwood: He understands what Melanie has gone through, and whenever she finds an opportunity to escape her father and flee to Gracey Manor, she likes to talk to Randall, the two of them talking about the happier times of their lives with their missing spouses.
As for Little Leota, she’s found that she can confide in Randall more than she can her mother, especially regarding her feelings for Beau. Randall felt quite honored when she asked if, someday, he’d walk her down the aisle, and give her away.
-In the early days prior to the Mansion’s opening, the Imagineers developed a no-flash camera that didn’t make the spirits look ‘how they should’ (as decayed, rotting corpses), and the inhabitants took a lot of candids, Randall and Emily included: There’s a number of photos of them together, looking much more casual than usual-Emily, wearing a sleeveless, knee-length gown of her husband’s making, Randall, having stripped away his cloak and jacket, and his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, both smiling for the camera, arms around one another...where many of those pictures are now is unknown.
-Speaking of Emily’s dress, it was one of many stylish gowns Randall designed and made for some of the Mansion’s lovely ladies: One of the missing photographs is of Emily, Elizabeth Henshaw, and Little Leota, all on the porch of the Mansion on a cloudy spring day, wearing these dresses-Emily wore pale green, Elizabeth wore pale yellow, and Little Leota wore pale blue, Randall recalls.

FULL NAME : Randall Huit Pace
NICKNAME : The Hatbox Ghost, Ol’ Hatty, Mr. Pace
AGE : 33 (mentally); 235 (technically)
BIRTHDAY : May 9th, 1782
ETHNIC GROUP : Caucasian
NATIONALITY : Irish-American
LANGUAGE / S : English and a bit of Irish
SEXUAL ORIENTATION : Heterosexual
ROMANTIC ORIENTATION : Heteroromantic
RELATIONSHIP STATUS : (Happily) married to Emily Pace nee’ Bloodmere, the Beating-Heart Bride
CLASS : Lower class, though one could technically argue that with him being a ‘member’ of the Gracey family (as qualified by being one of the 999 happy haunts), he’s much more well-off now
HOME TOWN / AREA : New Orleans, Louisiana
CURRENT HOME : Gracey Manor AKA The Haunted Mansion, at Anaheim, California’s Disneyland theme park
PROFESSION : Haberdasher and resident happy haunt (’attic ghost’, to be more specific) of the Mansion
PHYSICAL.
HAIR : (Disheveled, usually) Black hair, very just enough wave and curl in it to make it a frustrating pain to get under control. As a spirit, it has turned a sort of salt-and-pepper gray, with faint streaks of white in it
EYES : Initially, they were a very pale green, but as a ghost, they have turned a blank, dead black and white color
NOSE : Once upon a time, Randall actually had a nose! It was rather long, and he felt it attracted too much attention when one looked at him, but with his lack of one as a spirit, he finds he looks rather strange without it
FACE : Very sharp and angular as a spirit, there’s more emphasis on his jawline and his cheekbones, which bear a more skeletal appearance now. As a mortal, his face was a little rounder, but there was still definition as to what he looked like beneath the skin
LIPS : Very thin, sort of pinched lips-obviously, he lacks them as a spirit now, but they were never large to begin with
COMPLEXION : Very, very pale, a trait inherited from his Irish-born father. Strangely, he didn’t get the freckles, but he got the ashen pallor and ease when it came to sunburning
BLEMISHES : None
SCARS : Only one-the long, jagged scar that winds around Randall’s neck, from where his head was chopped off by Emily’s fiancee. It is extremely sensitive to the touch, and while he generally dislikes people touching it, he would permit Emily to (very gently) kiss it, which always provoked a heavy blush when she did
TATTOOS : None
HEIGHT : 4′12
WEIGHT : Probably weighs 100 lbs. soaking wet (Randall’s always been pretty light)
BUILD : He was pretty scrawny as a mortal, not exactly super strong, but he’s naturally extremely bony as a ghost (and still isn’t particularly strong)
FEATURES : Eyes are very large and highly expressive, and the same goes for his grin-usually, looking at these two aspects of his face, his mood can be read rather easily
ALLERGIES : None
USUAL HAIR STYLE : Cut short, it’s usually very frizzy and wild, sticking out from beneath his hat
USUAL FACE LOOK : In the ride, you can usually catch him grim-grinning at the riders, leering back and forth as he watches them pass by
USUAL CLOTHING : Fairly simple-a white button up beneath a simply vest and overcoat, trousers, and his father’s cloak, with stockings and simple shoes, matched with his favorite top hat
PSYCHOLOGY.
FEAR / S : Fears banishment, mainly, but this fear is only rivaled by his fear that he’ll never be reunited with Emily, and he’ll be trapped with Constance for all of eternity
ASPIRATION / S : Reunite with his bride, see Constance be kicked out of the Mansion, see Dorian finally confess his feelings to Elizabeth Henshaw (and perhaps marry her)
POSITIVE TRAITS : Hard-working, loyal, generous, protective, family-oriented
NEGATIVE TRAITS : Pessimistic, cranky, hot-tempered, self-loathing, self-isolating
MBTI : INFJ-T
ZODIAC : Taurus
TEMPERAMENT : Melancholic
SOUL TYPE / S : The Helper
ANIMALS : Warthog
VICE HABIT / S : He has the tendency to be a bit of a workaholic, and does occasionally work himself overtime-this was most prominent when he was an employee at the haberdashery, and he was struggling to make enough money to get by
FAITH : Was raised Irish-Catholic, but given his status as a ghost, he’s not sure what to believe now
GHOSTS ? : Initially, Randall wasn’t sure he believed in ghosts, preferring to believe in the hereafter instead. Obviously, he believes now, being one himself
AFTERLIFE ? : Randall believed in an afterlife growing up, but again, now he’s not sure, given that he’s still stuck on Earth: He likes to think his mother is somewhere in heaven, though
REINCARNATION ? : He’s not sure about reincarnation-he just hopes that it’s not real, lest Emily’s spirit be reincarnated, and he ends up losing her altogether
ALIENS ? : Aliens aren’t really on Randall’s radar, they never really have been, but if ghosts exist, then he wouldn’t be surprised if aliens did too
POLITICAL ALIGNMENT : None
ECONOMIC PREFERENCE : He would have preferred to be a bit more well-off in life, as much of it he struggled, as both a child and as an adult
SOCIOPOLITICAL POSITION : None
EDUCATION LEVEL : Home-schooled, Randall is pretty educated just the same; the only thing he struggles a bit with is reading, though he hates to admit it
FAMILY.
FATHER : Wilhelm Pace, an Irish immigrant seeking a better life in America. Although he struggled with alcoholism (which ultimately led to his death whilst out fishing), he was hopelessly in love with his wife, and adored his son just the same. Randall didn’t know him well, and doesn’t look too fondly on him, unfortunately
MOTHER : June Pace nee’ Burke, an American woman, initially working as a maid at the hotel, where she met Wilhelm. After her husband’s death, she took it upon herself to work every job she could, and provide the best for her only son. Randall was extremely close to her, and was understandably devastated when she passed on from scarlet fever

EXTENDED FAMILY : None: Much of the Burke family were already gone by the time Randall was born, and the Pace’s are all still back in Ireland, if there are any alive still
NAME MEANING / S : Randall means ‘shield’; Huit means ‘eight’ (the meaning is debatable), and Pace means either ‘mild-mannered’ or ‘peace’
HISTORICAL CONNECTION ? : He could be compared to the Greek character Orpheus, eternally seeking his lost love, who died tragically on their wedding day. Orpheus is often characterized as forlorn and pessimistic, much like Randall
FAVORITES.
BOOK : The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux: After seeing the 1925 adaptation, Randall got himself a copy, and has kept it with him ever since. The only other book that rivals it as his favorite would be Victor Hugo’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame
MOVIE : As one could guess, the 1925 Phantom adaptation, but truly, any film with Lon Chaney Sr. qualifies-he’s seen them all

MONTH : Any of the summer months, ironically enough: Much of his happiest memories (meeting Dorian, marrying Emily, etc) were born out of the summer, particularly in June
SEASON : It’s a bit of a tie between autumn and summer
PLACE : More often than not, Randall is most comfortable in the attic: He’s not sure if it’s because he died in an attic or what, but he likes it the best
WEATHER : Stormy, with plenty of heavy rain, thunder, and lightening
SOUND : The sounds of the happy haunts (sometimes), a little music in the background, rain pelting against the Mansion’s roof
SCENT / S : Roses (as they were his mother’s favorite flower), new fabric, strawberries
TASTE / S : Strawberries, strong black coffee, potato soup, the taste of Emily’s kisses
FEEL / S : Fabric, thread and needles against his fingers, a hot cup of coffee in his hands, Emily at his side
ANIMAL / S : Bats, and he’s quite close to the tree-eating snake that resides in the attic during the Haunted Mansion Holiday

MUN QUESTIONS.
Q1 : if you could write your character your way in their own movie , what would it be called , what style would it be filmed in , and what would it be about ?
A1 : Although I’d have Hatty be a main protagonist of a new Haunted Mansion movie, if I had the chance to make one on his backstory, I would. I’m not sure what I’d title it, but I think it’d be filmed in Technicolor, in the vein of older horror movies from the 70′s
Q2 : what would their soundtrack / score sound like ?
A2 : It’d probably be a small orchestra, with an Irish sort of sound for his own leitmotif
Q3 : why did you start writing this character ?
A3 : June of last year! I started building the blog before I went on vacation, and when I got back, I launched it, and here we are today!
Q4 : what first attracted you to this character ?
A4 : When I first read about Hatty (and by extension, The Haunted Mansion), I was very interested in the purported romance between the Hatbox Ghost and the Beating-Heart Bride, and me, being the hopeless romantic I am, took that idea and ran with it
Q5 : describe the biggest thing you dislike about your muse.
A5 : I can’t say there’s anything I dislike about him-except he does still kinda creep me out (particularly when it comes to the original animatronic-yikes!)
Q6 : what do you have in common with your muse ?
A6 : We are both of Irish descent!
Q7 : how does your muse feel about you ?
A7 : He’d probably wonder why I’m so invested in the lives of himself, his family, and his friends, even though I haven’t even been to a Disney park yet (I’m working on it, though)!
Q8 : what characters does your muse have interesting interactions with ?
A8 : Oh, just about everyone! Gwen Hatchaway, Dori Gracey, Beau Ghast, the Hitchhikers, the Leota’s, there’s never a dull moment between the characters!
Q9 : what gives you inspiration to write your muse ?
A9 : I can’t really say for sure: I didn’t really pattern my version of Hatty off of anyone, and although I’m sure my characterization has been influenced by other characters, I’m just not sure who...
Q10 : how long did this take you to complete ?
A10 : A whole lot longer than it should have!
