We are back! From a new computer! (EA App stopped working on my old Windows 7 PC -.-) Arturo invited them to celebrate the opening of a brand new Temple in Morensong (and for a belated Ostara/Spring Equinox Festival since we couldn't celebrate together last week. Day and Night were equal on March 21st and warmer days are coming. Hopefully for the Boys too).

They aren't really ready to meet again. Neither Saiwa and Jeb (after Sai's breakdown) nor Jack and Kiyoshi (after Jack's breakdown). But Ji Ho has a plan.

Arturo welcomed them and showed them around. This Temple is much bigger than Kiyoshi's/ the Tree's in Koh Sahpa. Had Kiyoshi gained so much more popularity since he's back from the tree?

Arturo: "Haha no ^^' Kiyoshi's followers wanted this Temple for Kiri, Little Goat and Kumo who hadn't left Kiyoshi's side and cared for him while he was one with the Tree for all those decades. And Little Goat played a big part in bringing him back eventually." Oh... ok Ö.ö So we have a Stable Temple now... For horses, goats and sheep. We've seen stranger things, haven't we? There are 12 easter eggs hidden in the following pics and posts. I write the amount of eggs in the respective pic below in brackets. For example in the pic below you can find 1 easter egg, so I write (1). (The same egg can appear in different pics and angles, but it still counts as 1 egg.)

Kiyoshi is embarrassed. He knows that the others are keeping his distance to him since they know the whole truth about him and Jack and that he became a demon, he's back and and a diety now and they are forced to stay together to avoid a catastrophe in their possible future and he destroyed Jeb and Saiwa's relationship with this damn 'Bird' misunderstanding... He just wanted to live quietly among them and somehow make it up to them and serve them and not to cause a ruckus and being treated as something special and upset them even more. (1)

The Temple is big enough for all the horses and goats and Kumo so they finally have a place to stay in Tomarang! (1)

The Boys' horses are Otherworlds horses and they are free to roam whereever they want to and the Boys can call them via the goats. Not sure if they stay here all together all the time since they have their own problems and misunderstandings and quarrels among them... (see our spin off -> The Stables)

Arturo: "What do you think? It's awesome, right?" Saiwa: "It absolutley is. They will live in a palace!" Arturo: "Come over to the meadow. I prepared games and food." (3) (But only two new eggs, the third egg is already shown 3 pics above. That makes a total of 5 different eggs in this post. Have you found them all? The other ones can be found in the following episodes and I will reveal where they are hidden in an extra post after the festival.)

Since I am deep in my townie-making era right now, ofc I had to quickly do the new Tomarang townies; the Cahyaputri family, the Bun Ma family, and the Linh-Sadya family + Thi Linh. I actually thought all of them looked quite good already, so I just made them a little bit more my sim style!

The next morning after breakfast, the family headed to Liên and her husband Alon's house nearby. Megan greeted her cousin and cousin-in-law and asked them how they were doing, and introduced them to her wife, cousins-in-law, daughter, and niblings and met Alon and Liên’s new baby, Anita. Plus she spent time with her niece Cam, Liên and Alon's oldest daughter. "The last time I saw you, you were only a baby." Megan said, smiling. "Yeah but I got old and taller since then, auntie Megs!" Cam said, smiling at her auntie. Plus Cam took Piper, Hamuera, and Emily to her room and showed off all her toys, pointing out their names and backstories while they listened and chimed in with jokes and stories as well. After that, Hamuera went to go get water and quickly texted his boyfriend Mateo, while standing in the archway. “Nooboo, move away from the archway.” His mom Luna reprimanded gently, and Hamuera nodded, shifting so he wasn’t blocking it. Mateo said he was good, and Hamuera sent back that he wished he could be in Chestnut Ridge with him, or that Mateo could be in Tomarang, and Mateo said he felt the same. Hamuera’s mama Chrissy called him over, and he told Mateo he had to go before stuffing his phone back in his pocket.

Megan spent more time with Liên and goofed around with her. Plus, she told Liên about her friend Iseul, and Liên’s eyes widened in surprise. “Iseul Kang?” She clarified, and Megan nodding, giving her a confused look. “Oh wow, she was my temporary tenant a couple years ago, very friendly and funny, she helped Alon fix things around the place and would have dinner with us once a week and was so nice when I had an emergency and asked if she could babysit Cam for two hours. How do you guys know each other?” Liên asked. Megan blushed a bit. “We used to date in college, broke up, and reconnected because my niece Piper is dating her niece who’s also named Cam.” Liên grinned. “Cam’s a good name.” She said, and Megan grinned. “But that aside, wow. I can see why you’d like her, she has this way of making you laugh and charming you and I love Alon but she’s kind of cute.” Megan nodded. “That’s Is.” She said, smiling. “I mean not the cute part, I mean she is but not that I notice it too much.” Megan rambled feeling her face flush, and Liên shook her head but smiled too. “I’m good friends with her and her girlfriend Grace, who’s also really sweet.” Megan added, and Liên nodded.

And while Saiwa, Jack and Ji Ho stay at home, Jeb, Kiyoshi and Vlad went to the Temple to help Arturo. All of them silently agree it's best to keep Kiyoshi away from Jack until he healed. It's a long way to go for Jack. Even though he says he's fine. We all know he isn't. It would even be better if they parted ways. But Other Jeb's message makes this impossible. No one wants to take the risk of some of them getting hurt - let alone be killed.

Vlad joined Team Kiyoshi. Jack is Vlad's best friend and this wasn't an easy decision to make for Vlad - but he and Kiyoshi grew very close at Belgraves Institute. They shared a room and ran their penalty laps at the sports ground. They slept next to Jack's pod when he was in his coma. And in the end Kiyoshi had to betray Vlad to the Council to maintain Kiyoshi's camouflage.

Vlad knows that Ji Ho and Saiwa take good care of Jack and that Kiyoshi is having a hard time now since he became a diety, had been banned from Kojin's Temple and lost Jack. And no one, except for Jeb, knows how to deal with him after they learned that Kiyoshi was Jack's Alpha and fated mate and kind of co-responsible for Jack's misery. And that Kiyoshi had been sent by his father to the Lab to torture captured Jack and Saiwa. And rescued them in the end. It hadn't been easy for Kiyoshi either with all his duties for the temple, the resistance and the council. He didn't hurt Jack on purpose. They just didn't know better and couldn't act better. He can't be mad at Kiyoshi. Maybe it was because they were too young and unexperienced or it just wasn't meant to be - yet. Fate doesn't make mistakes and Vlad is determined to help both of them.

Kiyoshi cared for the saplings of his Tree. And when he touched the little one Jack had lit with some kind of magic, it hit him like a bolt - again. This is a sign. Kiyoshi is sure. As a werewolf, Jack isn't capable of doing such magic. This has to mean something. Jack is his fated mate. Kiyoshi will give Jack all the time he needs to heal - but he will never give up on him. He tried it - for decades while he'd been in the tree - futile.

Mood is gloomy and everyone was working in silence lost in their own thoughts. Vlad thought he could try Jack's puppy strategy to light up the mood a bit. So he started to tell some funny stories of the times they hadn't been all together. Vlad: "... and when Jeb and Ji Ho had already left to do their school project at Mount Komorebi, Jack insisted to put me on my gloves! I had been blind then, but I still was capable to put on my gloves. And then I made fun of him because he wore a fur jacket! A werewolf in a fur jacket! And then Kiyoshi said: 'I like fur'. Somehow I knew that something was going on between you two." Jeb was cutting the planks, had the pencil between his teeth and chuckled. He repeated 'I like fur' because he thought it was so cute and funny of Kiyoshi. But since he had the pencil between his teeth, it was gibberish.

Arturo froze: "What did you just say?"

Jeb, gibberish: "I like fur?"

Arturo: "Gods - it sounds like the last words from the Master! 'I like bird'!"

Jeb: "I think everything sounds the same when you have a pencil in your mouth while speaking ^^'" Arturo: "True hahaha." Little Goat: 'Hello?!'' omg...

After their work at the Temple, they sat down to eat. Arturo: "Vlad, why don't you take a plate and give it a try?" Vlad: "Ah, I'm sorry but I'm a vampire and can't digest food. I get sick if I do and live off of plasma packs and fruit."

Arturo: "I aware of that - but I also feel your strong craving for food. Other vampires just ignore it." Vlad: "Oh I'd been able to ignore it all my live - until... I drank Ji Ho's blood... and when I came back from hell after I died, I started to smell the incredible odors and had a hard time not giving in and try some ever since."

Arturo: "A lot of things changed after you drank mermaid's blood, hm? Why not you digesting food? Give it a try." Vlad: "Uhm - ok..." It smelled so amazing, Vlad thought it was worth getting sick.

And this is how Vlad tried his first food!

And it seems he likes it!

Oh my Arturo was right - Vlad yould have eaten food since he bit Ji Ho September 2022! And even though he knew he'd changed a lot and craved for it, he never tried - because he was afraid and convinced it would make him sick. This sounds trivial but made him think a lot. What else could he have experienced since then and never tried? And how much has Ji Ho changed him? But before he could follow his thoughts any further, it hit him! Hot hot HOT!!! Arturo: "Maybe Burmesan Samosa Soup wasn't a good choice for your first meal ^^'"

But it was. Vlad will never forget this - his first meal. And it will remind him to be bolder and try new things and not hide behind his fears! (Hear, Hear!)

After lunch Arturo went for a walk with them. He has an idea wow they can make up with the others.

And after a hard day's work, they gathered at the fire. Arturo was pondering all afternoon about 'I like bird' and 'I like fur'... (Try it yourself, it really sounds the same!) Arturo: "Kiyoshi - who did you think about before you became one with the tree?" Kiyoshi: "Jack. I've never been able to forget him. Even when I felt nothing else anymore, I still felt him."

Arturo: "I have a weird inkling: maybe your last words weren't 'I like Bird' but 'I like Fur'? Because Jack is a werewolf? Or you thought of that experience with the fur jacket?" Jeb: "When Kiyoshi thought of Jack and not of Saiwa before he left and Saiwa isn't his fated mate but Jack... Gods - I urged Sai into this fake relationship with Kiyoshi to bring him back because we thought Kiyoshi's last thoughts were about Sai... Saiwa will kill us all." (Omg... ö.Ö') And there's no way not to tell him because they all agreed to be honest to each other...

STRAIGHT UP (U.S., 2019) Director: James Sweeney In English

THE SHINY SHRIMPS (France, 2019) Director: Maxime Govare and Cédric Le Gallo In French, with English subtitles

Matthias, an Olympic swimming champion at the end of his career, makes a homophobic statement on TV. His punishment: coach the Shiny Shrimps, a very flamboyant, very bad and very LGBTQ water polo team. They have only one thing in mind: to qualify for the Gay Games in Croatia where the hottest international LGBTQ athletes will compete. It's the start of a bumpy and joyful ride. If the Bad News Bears were a water polo team, and LGBTQ, they would be The Shiny Shrimps. Faster, higher, stronger… and fabulous.

UNSETTLED: SEEKING REFUGE IN AMERICA (U.S., 2019) Director: Tom Shepard In English

A remarkable look at the untold stories of LGBTQ+ refugees and asylum seekers who have fled intense persecution from their home countries and who are resettling in the U.S. The film follows four new arrivals, each of whom have escaped potential peril in their native countries for being different. They've landed in the purported "gay mecca" of San Francisco, yet even there, building a new life in an adopted nation is a precarious undertaking. As new leadership in America continues to restrict immigrants and drastically cuts the flow of refugees and asylum seekers, Unsettled: Seeking Refuge in America humanizes a group about which few people know.

WHERE WE GO FROM HERE (U.S., 2018) Director: Anthony Meindl In English, French, with English subtitles

In Binghamton, an ESL teacher dealing with domestic abuse finds even greater violence at her school. In Orlando, two lovers drifting apart may be separated by the hate of another. In Paris, friends on an introspective night out are caught up in a brutal madness. Three acts of terror disrupt the lives of ordinary people. Will love win out over violence? With gripping performances and storylines all too familiar and frightening, Where We Go From Here is not an easy film to digest nor is it a question easily answered, but both are ultimately worth the effort.

Trong cuộc hội thảo trên web gần đây nhất, cha Bề trên cả Arturo Sosa, SJ đã trả lời những câu hỏi từ các anh em Giê-su hữu và các cộng sự giáo dân về chủ đề bao quát này liên quan đến việc chăm sóc trong và sau Covid – 19. Sau đây là 5 phương thức được rút ra từ những câu hỏi và câu trả lời trực tiếp bằng tiếng Anh vào ngày 30 tháng 04.

#1. Đời sống của thánh Inhaxiô là kinh nghiệm của một con người được chăm sóc và được mời gọi để chăm sóc.

Trong tự thuật của thánh Inhaxiô, ngài chỉ ra cách thức ngài được Thiên Chúa dìu dắt và chăm sóc. Cha bề trên cả Sosa nói rằng” Linh Thao là một hành trình huyền nhiệm trong sự chăm sóc của Thiên Chúa, Đấng đã hiến mình cho ơn gọi chăm sóc nhân loại qua việc nhập thể, cái chết và sự phục sinh của Đức Kitô.”

Năm mừng kính Inhaxiô 2021 – 2022 mời gọi chúng ta tiến sâu hơn vào sự hiểu biết cách thế Thiên Chúa đã hướng dẫn cuộc đời của thánh nhân. Cha bề trên cả nói, trong Linh Thao tất cả mọi sự đều là một cuộc chiêm niệm để đi tới tình yêu tròn đầy (chiêm niệm để đạt được tình yêu: contemplatio ad amorem). Kinh nghiêm của thánh Inhaxiô bảo đảm cho chúng ta rằng, Thiên Chúa đang chăm sóc tất cả nhân loại, Ngài là nguồn của sự an ủi và hi vọng lớn lao dẫu cho chúng ta đang sống trong thời gian của sự bất định, lo sợ và hồ nghi.

#2. Chăm sóc con người và chăm sóc tông đồ không thể tách rời nhau.

Các từ ngữ trong tiếng Tây Ban Nha, salud (health: sức khỏe) và salvación (salvation: ơn cứu độ) chia sẻ cùng một gốc từ trong tiếng Latinh, salus. Trong ý nghĩa này, sự chữa lành và hòa giải được nối kết chặt chẽ với nhau. Sự chữa lành của thế giới phải là sự hòa giải tất cả mọi sự trong Đức Kitô. Vào ngày 25.03.2019, trong văn thư gửi cho toàn dòng, Cha bề trên cả đã nhấn mạnh tới mối căng thẳng giữa chăm sóc tông đồ (chăm sóc cho công việc và các dấn thân của dòng) và chăm sóc con người (chăm sóc phẩm chất thiêng liêng và phẩm chất nhân bản của từng người). Ngài nói “Sự đối nghịch này là con đường dẫn đến sự phân tách về những tài năng giữa các bề trên địa sở và giám đốc công việc. Như thế, con đường này sẽ chẳng giúp ích gì cho việc chăm sóc sứ mạng.”

#3. Các giám đốc công việc và các bề trên được mời gọi để thực thi hai chiều kích của sự chăm sóc (cuidado).

Cha bề trên cả nói, “Sứ mạng được trao phó cho Dòng Tên là con đường để làm sống động chúng ta.” Giám đốc công việc không phải là người quản lý chỉ lo tìm cách để đạt được những mục tiêu của thể chế mà thôi. Ngài nói: “Không, không phải thế, người ấy phải là người lãnh đạo của những thành viên đang dấn thân trong sứ mạng. Cũng thế, Bề trên “đâu phải là người bà chỉ biết chuẩn bị tô cháo cho những người mỏi mệt trong công việc. Người ấy phải có trách nhiệm với sứ mạng của Dòng.” Cả giám đốc công việc và bề trên đều có trách nhiệm trong việc chăm sóc con người và chăm sóc tông đồ.

Cha bề trên cả nói “Đừng bỏ ai lại đằng sau”, gợi nhớ lại rằng Đức Giêsu đã trao phó sứ mạng của Ngài cho nhóm Mười Hai, những con người yếu đuối. Tương tự, cha cũng xin các anh em và cộng sự hãy tin tưởng bề trên của họ. “Bạn đừng tới gặp bề trên chỉ để xin lời khuyên như bạn có thể tới bác sĩ y tế hay một vị chuyên gia. Bạn hãy tới vì bạn tin tưởng người anh em của mình, bởi lẽ người ấy có sứ mạng chăm sóc cộng đoàn mà họ được trao phó.” Ngài nói thêm, “ khi chúng ta nói những người bạn đường trong Chúa, những người bạn đường trong sứ mạng, chúng ta nhấn mạnh tới những người bạn đường. Đó là một loại tình cảm, một bản chất thực sự gần gũi với con người.”

#4. Sự cộng tác là một hình thức của sự chăm sóc.

Thánh Inhaxiô thường sử dụng hình ảnh thân xác để miêu tả về thân thể tông đồ của Dòng. Giống như một thân thể có nhiều bộ phận khác nhau nhưng không một bộ phận nào bị tách ra một bên, Dòng cần chăm sóc những con người định hình nên chính thân thể tông đồ đó để chăm sóc cho sứ mạng. Cha bề trên cả lưu ý, đây là lý do cấp thiếp để học cộng tác với giáo dân, giáo sĩ, và các nam nữ tu sĩ, chăm sóc người khác và để cho chính chúng ta được chăm sóc.

Ngài nói: “Sứ mạng lớn hơn dòng, sứ mạng cũng lớn hơn Giáo Hội nữa. Đó là sứ mạng của Đức Kitô. Chúng ta không thể giản lược những kết nối và suy nghĩ của chúng ta chỉ trong những điều nhỏ mọn, chúng ta có thể lao tác trên chính đôi chân và bàn tay của mình. Sự cộng tác là một thách đố lớn cho tương lai của Dòng và cho cả Giáo Hội nữa.”

#5. Xây dựng văn hoá chăm sóc ngang qua nhận định.

Cuối cùng, cha bề trên cả khuyến khích chúng ta xây dựng văn hoá của sự chăm sóc và bầu khí của nhận định qua đối thoại có chiều sâu. Ngài đề nghị các bề trên và giám đốc công việc (Giesu hữu hay giáo dân) đưa ra những sáng kiến để trợ giúp cộng đoàn và công việc qua việc áp dụng trò chuyện thiêng liêng trong những vấn đề trọng tâm của đời sống cộng đoàn hay công việc tông đồ dưới ánh sáng của các ưu tiên tông đồ phổ quát.

Hồi nhớ lại hành trình hoán cải của thánh Inhaxiô, cha bề trên cả nói rằng thánh Inhaxiô được dìu dắt trên con đường mà ngài chưa bao giờ mường tượng ra cho chính mình. “Chúng ta bắt đầu với một thương binh trong chiến tranh và kết thúc với một người có thể dẫn dắt một thân thể nhỏ bé vươn ra toàn thế giới.” Đó là con đường khả tính bởi vì ngài đã được Thánh Thần chăm sóc và dẫn đưa. Đó là điều chúng ta muốn, để lớn lên trong một thân thể thực sự được mở ra với sự hướng dẫn của Thần Khí.
