I really hate to hear my voice back 🙈 but I wanted to show you just a snippet of my opening on Culture Night. My sister Lorraine is working on a video of the night that should be ready in the next few weeks. Also I've put so much work into this show over the last 8 months that I'd really like to bring the whole exhibition somewhere else (in Ireland or abroad) after it finishes in Johnston Central Library Cavan on October 26th. If you know of any venue or gallery that might be interested in showing this exhibition please message me. There are 22 paintings in total but for a bigger space I'm happy to work on more. As I said at my opening I wrote down 79 different painting ideas when I read through the stories first and every time I read them I get a new idea! We, Anna Walther, Henriette Hellstern and Helle Moalem are excited beyond the moon to officially tell the world about our amazing art exhibition, which we have worked on since 2019.

With the vernissage on April 29th 2022 we open the group exhibition “Cassandra’s Sisters - Painters of the Future Lift the Curse” in the iconic space of the Round Tower featuring 15 incredible, contemporary, female artists.

The artists have created diverse works within painting with the mythological character Cassandra as a central figure.

This must-see exhibition is a tribute to painting, a sisterhood of solidarity, and a reinterpretation of the destiny of Cassandra.

With the exhibition we have also launched a brand new sisterhood of female artists in an aim to initiate more collaborations and to create synergies between artists. Together we can lift each other, make each other stronger and push for equal opportunities.

We are grateful and honored to have these 15 artists participate in the exhibition:

#ThursdayThoughts as followers of this page may know,  I am also a #creativewellbeing practitioner. #WorkSafeandWell is about promoting #creativeleadership to make our workplaces more inclusive and #CompassionateCommunities. An essential part of building these is supporting the creative arts in all forms as both participatory and observational tools.

As artist @anniesartthings I use my #creativepractice to support my own mental health and start conversations about #Stigma and how creativity can support better #mentalwellness. This afternoon I attended an inspirational campaign launch by the #artisessential campaign organised by #ContemporaryVisualArtsNetwork and hundreds of other #creativeprofessionals supported this view. We heard from a host of brilliant speakers including @matthewburrows, @laurasillars-blog, Sheryll Catto from Action Space, and directors of #MIMA, #theBaltic, #CHEAD and #VASW

As we move towards the first full year of this lockdown, we have been deprived of access to creative spaces and experiences that we all took for granted, and this has impacted so many people.

Art and Creativity play a crucial part in the #wholepersonwholelife model for wellbeing, and we must ensure that employers, educators, funding bodies and policymakers remember this. You can learn more about this campagn here: https://www.artisessential.art/about
