Watching Rings of Power ep 1. Not too bad. I have technical criticisms, like the use of CGI in certain scenes, makeup and hair, costumes as a means of storytelling, etc. There are a LOT of plot lines. The actors are doing a great job, so thus far the directing has been a bit off in some areas, namely with Galadriel. I'll probably do a more in depth review later, because it's midnight, but for now it's just an eh? for me. Not terrible but not quite the awe-inspiring Tolkien I'm used to. However, there were some shots and scenes that were very beautiful, as well as some that gave me MCU vibes in a bad way. Also... A billion dollars and NO LONG HAIR WIGS. Every time I see an elf with short hair a part of my heart dies. They just look like dudes...
