Ko te "korero terenihi" i ahu mai i te "arero lotus, mokowhiti" - Ko te nuinga o te korero mo te taupori, he korero, he pai te korero, me te tino ataahua ano he putiputi. Ko te tikanga a Lotus ko te maakore, te pono, me te pono. I tango a Gu Yuejin i te "korero terenihi". Ko tetahi o nga take, ki te mea he ngakau ma, he tika te tangata, ka korero i nga kupu whaihua i nga wa katoa, ka koa te iwi i roto i o raatau ngakau, ka maeneene te ahua, ka pai o raatau tuakiri, me te manawanui, a ka nui atu to raatau painga. Tawhiri. Tuarua, ko nga whaikorero korero ka taea te korero ma te ngawari, penei me te puawai pua tereni.
Mo nga tau tekau ma rua kua paahure ake nei, kua whakapau kaha a Gu Yuejinxin i ona kaha me tona kaha ki te kaupapa o te whakawhitiwhiti korero me te korero.

HE AROTAKE
“Ko te manu e kai ana i te miro, nōna te ngahere. Engari, ko te manu e kai ana i te mātauranga, nōna te ao.”
Kia ora e te whānau! Nau mai, haere mai ki tāku rangitaki. Ko te kaupapa o tēnei rangitaki, he arotake. Ka kōrero au e pā ana te pukapuka ‘Deep River Talk’ nā Hone Tuwhare.
I whānau a Hone Tuwhare i te 1922. I mate ia i te 2008. He kaituhi ia, me he kaituhi rangatira. Nō Kaikohe ia, ko Ngā Puhi tōna iwi. I perehi ia tōna pukapuka tuatahi i te 1956. Ko te ingoa ō te pukapuka, ko 'No Ordinary Sun'. Mai i tera wā, i perehi a Hone Tuwhare, he maha ngā pukapuka. I roto i ngā pukapuka a Hone Tuwhare, i kōrero ia e pā ana te ao Māori me te reo Māori, nga whānau Māori me ngā iwi Māori. I te matenga o ia, ko Hone Tuwhare te kaituhi Māori rongonui o Aotearoa.
I pānui au i tēnei pukapuka ('Deep River Talk') i tēra mārama. I te aroha au i ngā kupu me ngā kiripuaki i roto i tēnei pukapuka. Ko paenga kōrero te momo o te pukapuka - arā, he 'Poetry Anthology.' I whakaaro au i tino ātaahua te pukapuka, me i whakaaro au he mea tino nui ngā kōrero o tēnei pukapuka. I ako nui ahau mai i tēnei pukapuka.
Ko te mea tuatahi, i rata au ngā kupu i Te Reo Māori. I te wā i tuhi a Tuwhare i tēnei pukapuka, kua ngaro tātou i etahi Te Reo Māori mai i ngā pukapuka o Aotearoa. Ko te mea tuarua, he maha ngā kare-ā-roto i roto i te kōrero o tēnei pukapuka. I hono au ki ngā tāngata me ona wairua. Ahakoa he iti ngā kupu, he nui te tikanga. Anei ngā kupu:
“Stop
your snivelling
creek-bed:
come rain hail
and flood-water
laugh again.”
Nō reira, e rima ngā whetu mō tēnei pukapuka! Me pānui!
Arohanui, Isla. x

When the First World War broke out, Māori leaders responded in various ways. Some, such as Rua Kenana Hepetipa, maintained total opposition to Māori enlistment. Others such as Apirana Ngata, Paraire Tomoana, and Maui Pomare, were in favour of Māori enlistment and organised recruitment drives, particularly in the Waikato region of Ngāti Maniapoto and the East Coast Ngāti Porou region.
Their recruitment campaign was particularly successful in Ngāti Porou, which enlisted enough men to form its own company in the battalion. Some companies were also supplemented by recruits from the Cook Islands and Niue.
By 1916 the battalion was in desperate need of reinforcements. As part of the drive to recruit more soldiers, the song Te Ope Tuatahi was composed by Apirana Ngata. It became famous during the First World War and was adopted as the anthem of the battalion.
In 1917, again in need of reinforcements, Paraire Tomoana composed an additional verse to the song, specifically encouraging enlistment in Ngāti Kahungunu, and other eastern regions of the North Island.

Imole, what is your problem... like yeah Aroha failed that trick pretty bad but you're still booing and heckling a literal child
also hello friends, and happy daily post posting. We're still with the Tuaruae with everyone else in this neighborhood almost
Also, it's birthday! Take it away Oraora (hey Miretsi you're in the shot)
MIRETSI CAN YOU NOT BE IN THE SHOT FOR ONE SECOND PLEASE
meanwhile, Ora's twin Aroha is of course birthdaying too
They both roll interesting traits, acquire fun aspirations, and Aroha finds she swings both ways just like yours truly
Gave them both long dreads, there aren't enough dreads in this hood at this point :) Aroha seemed a good candidate for this highly questionable basegame hula outfit, or so I thought at first... while Oraora goes for a slightly more down to earth look. I really like Aroha's side knots
I did end up picking a different outfit for her tho.
And Puawai aged up too!
I thinned out his hair a little, but otherwise just kept him in his adult stage look pretty much
teaching Pouri to walk is harder on his back all of a sudden, but hopefully the oldest girls will agree to help out with that now that they're old enough for that interaction to be enabled :P
moar soon!

And the rain put it out immediately of course.
Well then.
Yay! I guess that fire was good for something
Even with lil' bro Manawataki joining big sis Moea for a jog, there's been plenty kicking around the house by now, no?
Beach time! Wahi had to stay home, she's still sick :/
Ah, young love
Dang it!
No more kissing for you young lady, go sit and social distance from the other children
while responsible older sister family sim Para gathers goji berries for the benefit of the general health and wellbeing of the family
And they all head home. Manawataki wore himself out playing and gets to take an afternoon nap, lucky bastard
also
Dang it!
moar soon

I'm back! Ugh, the world is too real. Let's sims!
Aunt Luma visits the Bigarrena's along with Sanma who has the worst luck with rock-papyrus-sharpened shard of flint
and Otis grows into a senior dog. Looking right dapper good sir!
I missed it but I think Nerea just punched her baby brother really hard. You're lucky we're not in the Victorian stage Nerea or you'd be sent away or something
Miretsi on the other hand plays really nice with her little sister Poza. One of them had a want for a swing around but I forget which one
Chatting over slop dinner about thing that don't exist yet
Brief beach trip that yielded only one screenshot because I'm bad at this lol
My main objective with these is to just have the neighborhood kids meet each other for easier drama-weaving later tbh
Meanwhile I try to learn some sun&moon sets Entzu does some resource extraction labor in preparation for needing to know a trade by next challenge stage. I think he's grinding up some sulphur here?
our final day with this household this round draws to a close
Miretsi shares some unfortunate traits with her cousin Aitor, the noogie menace
Nerea sleeps watched over by her papa and goodest girl Maggie the dog
who grows into a sweet old lady that following morning. Time flies!
on that note, that's all from this household for this round

Well. That's a new house.
And a different, more exciting-looking new house behind it there. We'll be seeing more of it later.
Anyway yeah hello and welcome to the Akoko household! Now moved to a new and improved house made out of real molded and sun-baked clay, rather than the ol' sticks and reeds. It's the new way of things.
Here we see Suyana with baby Pataki. She's expecting again for the sixth and final time. She won't be aging into elderhood this round, but only just. Behind them, eldest child Aworan checks out the new garden.
Cat power couple DD and Diddy came along, of course
As did the Akoko goats :) and the children are now in school, with all the opportunity that brings
This family is plebeian, so we aren't seeing much grandeur yet, but I'm really feeling the upgrade the new house is. Oorun, too, is glad his littlest child will grow up in this relative luxury.
He even finds motivation to be even more of a breadwinner, as he's allowed to now. His choice of career is a surprise to his wife, he was always the serious one of the two (he has 4 points on the serious-playful scale, she has 7). But then he does have the Insane trait. And the "Become Rock Star" LTW. So it kind of tracks.
Stuck at home, Suyana spends what free time she can find in between caring for the goats, crops and baby by entertaining friends and family. Her sister Mayu is actually Empress now I guess, so though the family ain't rich, they're not without powerful connections. But like, who isn't in this hood at this point lol. And Mayu and Harikoa's niece Aroha, also visiting, actually works for them at the palace now.
That evening, Ibukun checks on his baby bro
to find that he's rapidly becoming a lil less of a baby. Or more of one, depending how you look at it. A bigger one, anyway. He grew!
And what a sweet lil guy he is now!
End of part one.
