her and the doctor shaking hands over being memory trouble buddies and the pain they leave others... m sure anyone else who's seen a family member lose recognition and the sense of who they were can feel whisperain's conflict over connecting with people keenly.

on a lighter note, i also imagine her as the only way you can watch a movie w nian and dusk and not have them break into a fight because her enjoyment is just so sincere they both temporarily truce so as not to disturb her enjoyment

Whisperrain losing her memories with each “death” is also why she’s keen on keeping the tickets to the movies she goes to and why movie tickets are her Token item: After reforming, she can look at her belongings and gauge approximately how much stuff she did and how much time passed. Plus, you having a matching ticket means that you were important to her, even if she can’t remember. It’s proof she existed, that she existed in others’ lives, and that others were important to her.

Personal Whisperrain rarepairs post

which I sort of promised like a week ago with that one drawing of her I did (in order descending from more to less serious)

bc I think she deserves some love despite (and because) of her condition

(Obligatory disclaimer this is just my opinion and if you disagree/don’t like what’s presented that’s sompletely fine. I’m just having some perfectly innocent fun with a character I like a lot. Also it is all wlw pairings because that’s what I’m into)

Under a readmore because man, this got kind of long

Warfarin

(aka my fave rarepair I’m pretty sure nobody else in this world other than me ships)

With the two of them I would like to first present some tidbits from Whisperrains profile that initially made me go 👀 at them together:

Basically, I think these two could have a very interesting dynamic, being two different kinds of immortals interested in each other. Warfarin, being a very competent medic, could also possibly help Whisperrain avoid her rejuvenation and memory loss if it came down to that. Then, also, angstwise the long lived immortal being habing to worry about a lover who is likely to die (or in this case lose her memory) even faster than the regular mortal is pretty good angstwise he ho ha)

I also think the dynamic between the compassionate, quiet Whisperrain and the chaotic, dubious ethics having Warfarin working together as medics is very fun.

(Honestly I overall really wish they’d have the canonically interact in some form, I think whatever they’d talk to each other about would definitely be extremely interesting.)

Weedy

Regarding her, there’s this voiceline referencing that they interact and potentially get into shenanigans together

I think Weedy’s keen attention to safety would probably keep Whisperrain safe from hazards that might end up making her regenerate, also they’re both aegir and could maybe bond over related stuff?

I see stuff for this ship sometimes and I figure the other people into it might have some additional reasons to like them together too.

Reed

I don’t really have any actual reasons for this. They’re both niche 5* with sad backstories and I think they could potentially find comfort in each other or something idk

Also they look nice together and I think Reed does indeed deserve to get together with as many pretty ladies as possible

W

Also more of a fun little thing I like aesthetically. W is a person who has lived and breathed violence probably pretty much since she was born, while Whisperrain is too frail to encounter anything like that without having to regenerate and lose her memories. I think this stark difference between them would make them an interesting couple.

Also a big fan of pairings that are like, tough goth girl x frilly, more girly girl

(I guess there’s some straight ships for her as well but like, that’s entirely the domain of people other than me. I just don’t have any interest in them in particular. Feel free to make your own posts about the dudes you think she’d go together well with if you want!👍)

Module thoughts:

- pretty much everyone whose module-improved talents talents give them sp has it good (regular C'hen, SARIA, Blemishine maybe)

- the module upgrades gave Specter alter pretty much everything she was lacking (initial sp after doll use, stronger slow, though the effect does depend on the exact numbers?)

- Ling got it so good, already being super good apparently and now also getting more of her summons on the field at a time

- Skadi becomes a true fast redeploy

- Nealter full time true damage

- Lumen keeps powercreeping whisperrain :(

- The devs hate Reed so much it's unreal

Having Whisperrain or Purestream makes Annihilation 5 a whole lot easier, since you don’t have to micromanage the icy bois as hard so the weebs can’t just do a zandatsu on your units. Also Ifrit for some bbq action.

#arknights #i dont have purestream levelled high enough so i’ve been using whisperrain and she does pretty solidly even tho i only have her at E1/40 #but i’m using hoshiguma s2. liskarm s1. and nearl s1 so there’s a decent bit of survivability. might swap some peeps around #might swap nearl for a different automedic defender. but i don’t have saria so my options are either her or gummy. #blemishine or hung may not work since their autoheals are attack based and not fully auto so idk. might test em anyway

1 bingo for Skadi but not for the other abyssal hunters since I feel like all those “head empty orca only knows to solve problems with violence lol” -jokes that were made about her back in the day justified her spot in the “deeper than she seems” square, while none of the others have really gotten treated like that.

As for Whisperrain I am desperately begging HG for more content. Give her an operator record at least. Or let her cameo in an event story please I am starving
