Taurasi first saw Thomas as a freshman starring for the University of Arizona five years earlier. So when Thomas went undrafted on April 11, Taurasi suggested to the organization it strongly consider taking a look at the former Centennial High School star.
"I was there with a couple of friends, and I said, 'that kid's a pro,'" Taurasi said. "I had never seen her play before. There was just a demeanor about her, a presence about her, and that's not even to mention how skilled and how ferocious she is on the court."
can we talk ab Arizona for a sec like?? they literally have 7 players start 3 freshman in the pac 12 Pueyo plays 50 min a game & they almost upset sc AGAIN??? Umm tourney team no fucking doubt
The hashtags are killing me but thank you for your support in these testing times for my #APHive 😭
But yes let's talk about Arizona. They constantly impress me and I think they're a team with such huge upset potential (lowkey would like to see them vs Iowa) if they could just string together a complete 40 minutes.
hey anon, i cut this separately from the rest of your ask because even though i agree, i'm not up for putting any users on blast on here. not my thing.
but i did want to answer the other part because that is very interesting!! and a big coup for arizona!
you're right, i wonder how much the re-alignment will factor into things. it's one thing for football to travel that far when you play once a week, but for sports like basketball, softball, soccer, etc that travel is going to be insane! and really unappealing. and the pac is such a good conference for wbb while the big 10 is just like fine, that i think it would totally make sense to switch based on that. i wonder if we'll see upticks in transfers from ucla and usc because of that
WBB. We're publishing a week late because someone forgot to hit publish. But you know what? It still works. There's nothing new. Sometimes that's how baseball goes, baby. The Rays are still doing stuff, the Mets and the Yankees are doing the same stuff but much much worse. The Dodgers are good, the Arizonas are still good. Judge is out. Alonso is still out. They're probably playing Zelda. So are we. We're also talking Dodgers, Giants, Braves, A's, Red Sox, Twins, Mariners, Cardinals, Giants, Marlins, Royals, Guardians, White Sox, Cubs and Pirates. Let's go.
hi bestie! i live in az and being a u of a fan (& uconn fan) has not been for the weak we literally lost nnaji our leading scorer & have 7 players like?? we upset stanford but i went to todays game against usc and juju fouled out we were up by 10 with 3 min left and choked and lost in double ot so im fucking going through it but your fics and blog are distracting me and getting my mind off of it for now.
so thank you sm for what you do <33
Hi my love <3
Babes I was rooting so hard for y'all last night too like what happened??? Y'all nearly had it and then really fell apart like omg?? I'm really excited to see Arizona in the PAC tournament tho, like I feel like y'all are gonna make something shake (and I really want you to!) Damn watching that in person must have been such a rollercoaster.
But I'm really glad my silly little blog brought you some peace. 🫶🏾
no worries!! def understand cutting the ask, also the only thing is is that ucla as a brand and an education opportunity is rivaled by so few schools :/ so we might not see many ucla OR usc transfers bc usc as a brand is always strong (they’ve picked up destiny littleton among other (in conference!) transfers and a pretty solid incoming recruit class so they’ll be p decent by the time the big 10 realignment comes in) the big 10 isn’t TOO bad for wbb, the american was loads worse and always bugged me when i watched uconn but i presume michigan and michigan state will manage to use hillmons and cloudens success to market themselves to recruits and iowa and iowa state will keep making noise. with this big new arizona news ucla and usc are gonna really miss out on the pac 12 comp, ucla products aren’t being as highly touted anymore when coming to the w and i can’t name the last w player to be drafted and kept out of usc so 😵💫
the thing about the big 10 teams is that a significant number them are just truly terrible year over year, and the ones that are good seem to really only have 1-2 actually good players. except indiana. i am not confident in msu or iowa's ability to keep recruiting up (though obviously iowa has more time to build before clark leaves) and michigan i would rate a little higher but am still iffy on. there's no consistency in the way there is in the pac 12.
usc is...not what it used to be. ucla had a couple good years recently, and i was hoping to see them become more of a power in the conference.
