STAIRWAY TO MUSIC . In this project, music is combined with architecture. The project's assignment, is to determine the "shape of music" inside a predefined space, following an inclined route and point out its counterpoint techniques. Therefore, possible forms of music are generated in three dimensions, mimicking soundwaves. These 3D soundwaves are then created into a rectangular-orange in the diagram-box which twists and turns into space, just like music does. When this twisted box is subtracted from space, all it remains is our way through music. Glass layers represent the time layers which are either seconds, minutes or hours. Stairs help the passage from one time layer, to another. Music is defined by counterpoint, which is used to designate a voice or even an entire composition. Crescendo, decrescendo, inversion, opposition, repetition, variant, and accelerando are some of them. Counterpoint can therefore be translated to architectural design and vice versa, creating the stairway to music. . . .
