I have a surprise...
Tumblr media
TADA!! 🎉🎉
Do you like the surprise? I figured since I have seen a bunch of other summoners create their own versions of Arcana Twilight, a rebirth into a Tale of their own summoner's experience throughout this ever so underrated yet beloved game!
Expect the first release of
! Sun, Moon and the Stars !
soon.
I'll see you all in my next post, bye bye!

I started a book on Wattpad
So I started to write a retelling of my Arcana Twilight Sona's story in the game and her involvement in the main game story So you'll see how my summoner handles everything!! Only one part is out at the moment, but I'll instantly start writing the next part if it's well liked!!
So I hope you all will like what I wrote so far!!

A Summoner's Disaster
Author's note: Shoutout to @tophatmaker for triggering my writing brain to go overdrive because I love writing characters being complete disasters while being in love.
☆ Rigel, the representative of Queen Tet.
Rigel
☆ Not much was known about him. Most people thought he seemed mysterious, aloof, intelligent, hardworking, strict, scary...
☆ Or they thought he was attractive.
☆ And you were on the latter half.
☆ There wasn't much you could do around him. He always always busy handling the usual affairs as the clan leader of Queen Tet while you were very much busy as the Summoner and dealing with the rest of the guide committee.
☆ Yet, during the interactions you had it always led to you getting embrassed one way or another.
☆ Everytime the two of you passed each other in the halls that would seemingly lead to you tripping on thin air. The others were always concerned for you each time.
☆ You couldn't handle talking to him either. Each time you tried talking that somehow led to you getting flustered.
☆ One of the times you managed to nearly hold a proper conversation with him, he saw your face turned red and put his hand on your forehead to check your temperature. That did not go well and somehow led to you fainting immediately.
☆ You tried expressing your words through creating something for him. You attempted to bake something during an event while hanging out with some members of the guide committee but it immediately got messed up thanks to the rest of your friends causing chaos during the baking session.
☆ You're doing your best around him, okay? But apperantly that involves doing things a sane person wouldn't do.
☆ He's been a witness to uhhh several shennanigins you may or may not have been apart of. How are you alive at this point?
☆ He's watched you break and climb through a window, get stuck in a tree, nearly burn down a lab with Pollux, questionable social media posts, and probably a lot more he's managed to list down.
☆ At this point, the only way you can explain your feelings about this man is through very intense key smashing sessions.
☆You've spent hours trying to figure out what to say to him after getting his contact number from one of the Queen Tet members you knew but never messaged him in the end
☆ Now, it's late at night and you're left wondering...How has he not figured it out you're in love with him yet? You have no idea but hey at least it saves you the embarassment of him confronting you about it.

Some homebrew D&D deities of various domains and alignments, while I’m in a random worldbuilding mood. A bit of a realisation of some of the ideas from my Ideas for Deities post, and one continuation from my Faction: Iron Carillon post:
OREM, THIEF GOD OF THE BOUNDARY
Alignment: True Neutral
Domains: Grave, Trickery, Twilight
Symbol: A Hooded Lantern
A gentle shadow padding silently through the twilight, his hooded lantern held aloft, Orem is the thief god of the grave, the boundary and the night. Believed to have once been a mortal man, he is the guardian of lost souls, all those who die alone or in dark places, the dim light of his lantern guiding them to their rest. He is the messenger between the lands of the living and the dead, and may be implored to carry messages past the bounds. He is the god of thieves, watching over all who find their comfort and their livelihood in the shadows. He is the gentle warden of the outcast and abandoned, granting shelter and comfort to any who pray in desperation. Orem is the god of the in-between, the guardian of all that is lost or fallen through the cracks of the world, and all who seek them.
ELAIA SIVETH, THE LADY OF FIRST AND LAST RESPITE
Alignment: Neutral Good
Domains: Life, Grave
Symbol: Two Conjoined Faces, One Grey, One Silver
The dual goddess of life and death, Elaia Siveth presents one of her two faces to everyone who suffers or teeters in the brink of death. Those who long for healing pray for her silver face, Elaia the Lifegiver, for life and strength and recovery. Those in agony or despair, desperate for escape, may plead for her grey aspect instead, Siveth the Gentle, for the cool safety and sanctity of the grave. Elaia Siveth is the Dual Goddess of Mercy, the Lady of First and Last Respite. She has no care for names or histories or creeds, only for the easing of suffering. Across nations and races, she is worshiped by healers, midwives, funerary officials, exorcists, slaves, and all who in their distress have need of either of her aspects.
WEYLOUN, THE BELL-FOUNDER, THE FORGE GOD
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Domains: Forge, Trickery, Knowledge, Tempest
Symbol: An Iron Bell
The Forge God, Weyloun walked the world in mortal form during the early days of civilisation, teaching the arts of metalwork and the forge. In this form, he was captured by demons and taken to the Abyss to be a slave there, bound in mortal form, and forced to forge weapons for demons in their private wars. He invented a new craft to free himself, the art of bell-founding, and forged a mighty artefact there: the Bell of Sundering, which can break any bond or seal. Freed of his shackles and restored to godly form, he tore free the Abyss, and ever since has set himself against demons, against slavery, and against the proliferation of deadly weapons such as those he was once forced to forge. He is the god of smiths, of spies, of bell-founders, and all who fight against slavery or evil.
OROMASDES, LORD OF WISDOM
Alignment: Lawful Good
Domains: Arcana, Knowledge, Light
Symbol: Holy Fire
The Holy Fire, the Light of Truth, the All-Seeing. One of the first and oldest gods, Oromasdes is the god of the sun, of light, of magic, of truth, and of judgement. His is the all-seeing eye, the font of knowledge, the burning fire of inspiration. He favours the magics of divination and truth-seeking, and the cleansing fires of judgement and renewal. Those who seek knowledge, truth, or the wisdom to make good judgements pray to him. He is the god of diviners, watchmen, researchers and intelligence agents, and also the god of judges, sages and scholars. Oromasdes is not opposed to lies or trickery in the pursuit of noble goals, but self-delusion and the destruction or denial of knowledge are the greatest of faults in his eyes.
DEIMA, THE TWILIGHT LADY, THE LAST INNKEEPER
Alignment: True Neutral
Domains: Nature, Life, Trickery, Twilight
Symbol: A Wooden Door Carved With A Crescent Moon
A mysterious goddess, Deima is believed to have once been a gentle fey beloved of the gods of the woods and the wilds. As mortal civilisation encroached more and more onto the wilderness, other gods and fey took to arms against it. Deima chose another path. She is the goddess and proprietress of the Inn of the Moon, a mythical little inn found only at liminal places: crossroads, fords, the boundaries of protected woods. Any may enter, and all will be treated to a bounty of good food and good cheer, but it is said that only those who have the best interests of the natural world at heart may ever leave. As gentle as she is, Deima is the goddess and guardian of the boundary between tamed land and wilderness. Should you seek … unorthodox means to solve violent problems, Deima is your goddess of choice.
NALASHTAR, THE POISONED PROPHETESS
Alignment: Chaotic Evil (well Neutral-Leaning-Evil, really)
Domains: Death, Trickery, Tempest, Light, Life
Symbol: Two Hands Cupping A Green Flame
“Only in chaos is there truth. Only in extremis do we see who we really are.” Nalashtar is the goddess of chaos, disease, disaster and hope. Once a mortal woman, from a homeland decimated by plague, Nalashtar survived the ravages of her fever where thousands of others perished. In the burning embrace of her disease, she found an inner truth that she desperately wished to spread to any who would listen. The same inner light that enabled her to endure past all endurance once, later enabled her to ascend to godhood, the better to the spread her truth. Chaos is the seed of strength. Death is the seed of life. Break the laws. Topple the towers. Poison the cups. And in the chaos afterwards, see what lights still have strength to survive.

Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin — National Poet, Devil Worshipper
Tumblr media
The Irish poet Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin — appointed Ireland Professor of Poetry in 2016 — is not the most assuming of poets. She is far removed from the outrageous excesses of Baudelaire or the eccentricities of Cummings. In fact, she is very ordinary. Some might even say — bland.
And yet, beneath the inconspicuous surface, Ní Chuilleanáin exhibits a far more sinister nature. Her poetry is teeming with strange references to obscure knowledge, allusions to occult practices and Satanic symbols. The first examples of this darker side of her work were provided to me by an anonymous member of the Tikki Troops, to whom I am immensely grateful for sparking this extended investigation, the fruit of which I will share with you in this blessay.
Because numerology plays a significant part in occult symbolism, I decided to start with a cursory numerological analysis of one of Ní Chuilleanáin's poems — Street. There are two main ways of calculating the significant number of a word or text — the simpler Pythagorean system, and the gematria form, which is Hebrew in origin but can be applied to the English language as well. Applying these two systems to the poem's title gave the same result — the number 6. This is significant — 6 and 11 are the two most important numbers to Satanists. 1 What's more, the poem has 11 lines. Carrying out the analysis on the full text of the poem gives — remarkably — the same result in both systems as well: 7. This number is not specifically associated with Satanism, but it is of enormous importance in numerology in general — it may well be the most important number of all. It is significant in Hindu, Muslim, Judeo-Christian, Ancient Egyptian and Native American tradition, among others.2 The focus on the shoes being "paired" may be meaningful, because Pythagoras associated the number 2 with disorder, evil and the underworld.3 This linking of sacred and Satanic numbers is representative of Satanism in general, which often employs sacred elements in a profane way — for example, the drinking of blood instead of wine from a chalice in a parody of Christian mass. Dates are also often given a numerological significance in occult practice, and I immediately thought of the poem To Niall Woods and Xenya Ostrovkaia, married in Dublin on 9 September 2009 with the bizarrely conspicuous date in its title. The value of the date simplifies to 11 — a Satanic number, of course — but more importantly, expressing the date as 09/09/09 makes the 999 contained in it explicit; 999 is considered powerful in Satanism because it is simply an inversion of 666.4 Incidentally, Ní Chuilleanáin's latest poetry collection, The Mother House, came out on 31 October 2019 — yes, the date of Halloween. A strange decision to say the least. I imagine that a comprehensive numerological analysis of the entire body of Ní Chuilleanáin's work would be extremely insightful; it is, however, well outside of the scope of this blessay.
Tumblr media
Doors are frequently seen in Ní Chuilleanáin's poetry, usually associated with some mystery hidden behind them — The Door is the most obvious example, but they also feature prominently in Street and All For You. Stairs and keys are no less a common theme; all three of these symbols represent the hidden, forbidden, esoteric knowledge involved in all kinds of occult practice. This reminded me of a rather strange interview with Ní Chuilleanáin that I read in which she explains the prevalence of nuns in her poetry by saying that "...nuns have always had their own way of living, their own community, their own rituals and festivals — they are surprising people."5 Their hermetic community and special rituals are definitely not the first thing I would think of if asked about nuns. Ní Chuilleanáin seems oddly fixated on secrecy and esoteric practices revealed only to members of a specific group; why might this be, I wonder?
The moderately alert reader will find a wealth of occult allusions and symbols in Ní Chuilleanáin's poems, especially relating to witchcraft. Street mentions bloody crescents imprinted on the stairs; a blood moon was historically connected to occult practice and two crescents together with a circle — one like the "ring" seen in the poem — constitute the Triple Moon symbol in Wicca.6 Fainfall links the mysticism of twilight, dawn and fog with a ghostly presence. Cats — the most famous of witch familiars — are common in her poetry, including the strangely forced reference in The Bend in the Road — "A tall tree like a cat's tail waited too." Kilcash references bonfires and features the oddly apocalyptic line "our ancestors' house will rise up." The Pig-boy features the kind of bestialisation associated with human sacrifice. which is employed by Satanists to signify the dominance of human carnal nature.7 Lucina Schynning in Silence of the Nicht seems to concern a witch in its entirety. And the poem's bizarre title is the opening line of a 15th-century poem by William Dunbar called — wait for it — The Birth of Antichrist.
Deaths and Engines features a curious allusion to the divinatory art of chiromancy (palm-reading) — "the lifeline in your palm// Breaks". This made me think about other methods of divination, of which perhaps the most famous is taromancy — a form of cartomancy which employs the Tarot deck, especially its 22 picture cards, called the Major Arcana. I looked through several of Ní Chuilleanáin's poems to see if I could spot obvious references to it, and I soon struck gold with To Niall Woods..., which focuses on the imminent journey of a newlywed couple. I immediately identified allusions to five cards of the Major Arcana: The Fool, The Tower, The Stars, The Lovers and The Emperor, all of which fit the poem's theme nicely. The Fool represents a new journey; The Tower, a radical change; The Stars, hope and fulfilment; The Lovers, affairs of the heart; The Emperor represents authority, but given the context of stealing from him we can take the inverted meaning of the card, which is authoritarianism and an abuse of power. We thus have lovers experiencing a radical change by leaving what they know to pursue their hopes and dreams on a new journey, freeing themselves from their constraints — "Leave behind the places that you knew:/ All that you leave behind you will find once more." We thus see that Ní Chuilleanáin associates the events of her poetry with occult divinatory symbolism. Once again, I think that a detailed examination of her work from the angle of Tarot and other fortune-telling systems would be an exciting research opportunity.
Tumblr media
I must admit that I have little background and knowledge in the area of Satanism and occult symbolism; I am sure that someone more familiar with this kind of material would be able to find much, much more of note in the poetry of Ní Chuilleanáin. I also regret not being able to give this investigation the amount of time and effort it merits. Nonetheless, I think that even this shallow analysis reveals a trove of secrets about one of the most famous Irish poets alive and allows us to view her work in a new — bloodier, more sinister — light.
