I loved the Cold War Campaign! So glad to hear some new thoughts on it (especially because people seemed to have moved on. Sad 😔)
A couple little questions I suppose:
•At what point of the campaign did you realize “this campaign is going to be awesome!”?
•Do you play multiplayer? If so, do you have a favorite operator?
•Do you have a favorite mini-game puzzle?
•Any standout quotes?
•And of course, how would you rank this against any other CODs (if any) that you’ve seen or played?
Ohmigosh. HELLO 😊
Literally my first official ask to do with what I post about. I’m EXCITED to get into this for ya. Excuse me for the caps.
I think the moment I realised that the Campaign was going to be awesome was actually pretty early on. I fell in love with the first mission but it wasn’t until what happened next on the airfield with Arash, that I knew things were going to be pretty cool. But boy, oh boy, Fracture Jaw had me HOOKED. It was from fracture Jaw, that i knew the campaign would be awesome. I say that because it still lingers in my mind. Fracture Jaw was mwah chef’s kiss. I’d go on and on about it but I think I’ll do a lil post for the mission itself some other time.
I actually have played multiplayer and I must say, I do like playing as Adler and Woods quite a bit, I will admit.
Also, mini game puzzles EXIST?! Why have I not heard of this yet? Oh MY GOODNESS. I'm going to try that out. I've only touched one arcade machine and I don't even know what it was called; was like ping pong though.
And yes there are always standout quotes. Take Hudson's "there is no truth; only those who you choose to believe."
I also love Mason's sarcasm of "oh look at that, we perserve the buildings but not the people", when Woods, him and Adler confront Hudson about the Greenlight nukes.
I went for the bad ending on a side note and went back to play the good ending. (bad ending was so cool btw.)
Anyways;
"I just want you to know that his little thing between you and me; it was always for the greater good.
You're a goddamn hero, kid; you know that? Heroes have to make sacrifices.
Which is why, when I ask you for one more, I hope you understand.................
It was never personal."
Just that whole bit of dialogue hit me real good.
And of course we just not forget about, “we have a job to do.”
And now, for the last question you’re waiting on to be answered. I’m only going to rank off of based of what I’ve played.
So, I’ve played MW2(22) and the New MW3 along with COD; BOCW.
Okay so Campaign first.
1. BOCW
2. MW2
3.MW3 being the lowest cuz of obvious reasons if you’ve seen/played it
But in terms of multiplayer……..
1. MW2
2. BOCW
3. MW3
MW2 is my number one in terms of multiplayer because I like my movement. BOCW is number two because it’s crazy fun even though the movement is noticeably slower than today’s multiplayer. The flamethrower and the death machine killstreaks are way too much fun paired together in Mount Yamantu with a smg. MW3 is last as it’s literally MW2 but with a fancier perk system. It could’ve been an update. I don’t think I would’ve passed comment or noticed if it weren’t for the campaign but movement is better in a slight bit.
Thank you so much for this ask yet again. I’m sure you were waiting quite a while for this post.

Call Signs
Small COD: Cold War drabble (less than 1k words)
Also on ao3 here
Reader as Bell. Contains Spoiler for campaign. Tags under cut
Tumblr media

They call you Bell.
You’re not entirely sure why.
Well… that’s not entirely true. You know why they call you Bell. It’s a callsign. Your callsign. Your very own special nickname. What you don’t know is why you’re the only one to have one.
Adler. Park. Sims. Woods. Mason. Lazar. Hudson.
You know call signs aren’t unusual. You’ve been a soldier for 10 years. No, 20. No 5? Since the war. Why can’t you remember? Years. You’ve worked with plenty of other soldiers who had codenames. From the KGB. M16. The Cia every unit you’ve been in, from every country you’ve visited. Butcher. Cub. Niagara. You know it’s normal in this field, something to both keep anonymity and keep things fun…
But they had reasons for their call signs. Stories. Memories attached to them… you don’t. The name ‘Bell’ doesn’t bring up any nostalgia or amusement to your mind. It’s been your callsign since Vietnam and you can’t even remember why-
You groan. The concrete floor of the safehouse seems to swim as another migraine comes on. You get them sometimes. A steady thump, thump, thump on the right side of your head. Right by your temple. You can’t fully muffle the low groan that falls from your lips as you rub the spot through your balaclava, feeling the small bump of a scar there. Arash. The fucker betrayed you. Shot you, the bullet barely missed. Blood stains the seats of the car and you’re sure you’re dead- How did you get that again?
“Everything alright, Bell?” Park asks. You jerk at the sudden noise. Looking up, you realize every eye in the safehouse is locked on you. Park takes a step forward and tilts her head the slightest bit, her lip quirks downward.
“Yeah, ‘m fine,” you mumble, “another migraine. Nothing major.”
Park lets out a deep breath, she gives a slight nod. You feel like you can breathe again too. You hate when they do that. Stare at you. You feel like someone on the team is always watching you. Like you aren’t on the same side as they are you’re not. You’re not. You’re not. Park walks away, going towards a drawer in the small office and returns with two small pills.
“Here. These should help.” She watches as you pop them in your mouth and swallow dry. Your head is starting to feel like someone’s taking an ax to your skull and you just want it to stop. “Better?”
“Don’t know. Just took ‘em.” You quip. Nobody laughs. You mumble out an apology but either none of them hear or none of them care. Probably a healthy mix of both.
“Take it easy, Bell.” Adler claps you on the back as he returns to his seat in the middle of the room. He does it a bit too hard, your body jolting slightly under the force and making your head swim some more. You give him a glare but he doesn’t even look back at you.
“Why does everybody even call me that anyway?” You ask.
He stiffens. He leans back in his seat, arms crossing. His blue eyes peer at you over the rim of his sunglasses and you suddenly feel cold. Your stomach churns like you might be sick.
“What do you mean by that?” He asks.
“My call sign,” you clarify, “What’s the story behind it?” For one, brief moment, the safehouse is quiet enough to hear a pin drop. Nobody seems to breathe. Nobody seems to move. There is no wind. No rumble of cars driving down the shitty dirt road outside. All you hear is your own breathing and the pounding in your head that currently reminds you of a siren. You feel strange, an odd sense of otherness settles deep in your bones. It almost feels like you don’t belong here. The pounding on your head resembles the pounding on a door. A red door. A bunker door. Perseus. He thinks you’re a traitor. He thinks you betrayed him. He must be so disappointed in you.
“Bell.” Adler finally says, he seems to force his muscles to relax. “As in ‘ring a bell’. We started calling you that during the war. You could never seem to remember anything.” He leans back against the table like he usually does, his eyes hidden safely behind his sunglasses once more. You look towards the evidence board, just in case you have to look into them again.
“Seems you still can’t.” He continues. He laughs but there is no real warmth behind it. Just the vague imitation of fondness. It feels almost like he is chuckling simply to placate you. “Get out of your head, Bell. We’ve got a job to do.”
Your headache stops. The pounding stops. The meds must have finally kicked in. You feel your migraine disappear behind a thick fog. You feel at home again. You know these people. Why on earth would you question their friendship?
“Sorry. You know me. Glad it still fits me though. My memory’s at this point. I’d lose my own head if it wasn’t attached.” You joke. Adler chuckles again, this time it does sound real.
You can’t even remember what pathways your mind was trying to lead you down, not when you feel like you’re floating. Your mind is soup. You don’t care. Adler is right.
You’ve got a job to do.

COD BOCW Bell OC Introduction
Welp... Can't stop myself from trying to make an intro for Kaoru and Dimi that I planned to make tomorrow but fck it since I saw someone's really curious about my two lovable brain-washed troublemakers 🤭💖 I'll post about their personalities tomorrow (@flowersandbirdsflyingfree saw you reblogged my fanart and curious about the two so if you're reading this, I hope you like it )
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!
Kaoru Sasaki:
Kaoru is a quiet person who works in a company she hates. She wanted to be a programmer but ended up as a call center agent as the working place was a disaster. It was filled with other employees harassing their female coworkers, the workplace becomes a brothel, the poor management can't be contained, and many more. When Vikhor "Stitch" Kuzmin met her while she was having her overtime on her shift, she was given the invitation to join Perseus, an organization full of spies and agents working together. Kaoru declines the offer and left the office without looking back. She then keeps meeting up with Stitch as she tries to keep her distance away from him. On her day off after eating with Mikan at a coffee shop, she stumbled upon a red door in the dark alleyway as she entered the building, only for her to meet "Perseus", the nameless leader of Perseus. She also met his right-hand man Dimitri Volkov, a KGB agent and part of Perseus. She declines the offer once again and left. Feeling miserable with her life, she went to an abandoned building which is near her workplace.
(P.S. I'm not mentioning what happened at the abandoned building since I find it quite a WARNING thing but if you're curious, feel free to read Chapter 2 of Loyalty or Betrayal on Ao3):
After she met Dimitri, she starts to bond with him as she starts to look at him as a friend. When Dimitri told Kaoru he had to leave and goes back to the US since he was working there as a CIA agent but the truth is that he was infiltrating the place to gain information. Days passed, and she got a call from Stitch that Dimitri "died", which she didn't believe as she took the necklace that Stitch gave to her and dashed her way to her workplace, only for the office to be closed down since her boss was arrested for sexual harassment on one of the female employees. She saw Mikan and told her about her leaving Kabukicho without telling Mikan the reason behind her departure and went to the alleyway to meet Stitch and Perseus. Soaked in the rain, she opened the door as she was holding the necklace, Kaoru tells the two that she will join Perseus, to which Perseus happily agrees. Years have passed, and she is now part of the organization as she got the nickname "Hannya" and teamed up with her new friend Kaori 'Kitsune" Tanaka. She was with Arash during their time on Trabzon as she was about to meet with Anton Volkov, only for Arash to shoot her in the car when they arrive at the runway. She was later captured by Adler and the others, treated for her gunshot wound, and taken care of under the care of Dimitri, who is now brainwashed and goes by the name Viktor Antonov. She later tries to bring his memories back which it worked but was interrupted when Woods and Mason saw Kaoru and Dimitri drawing their weapons to pretend that they're having a fight. When she tries to fight Dimitri by disarming his gun, Woods and Mason stop her but she later threw her knife at Woods, only for Lena (Cod Zombies OC) to deflect the knife with her katana (which is similar to Takeo) and apprehends her to the ground. Kaoru was interrogated by the three and was interrupted by Adler, who had planned to add Kaoru to their team as Bell. Angered, Lena disagrees and left the room and tells Hudson and Weaver about the plan, Adler and Park work on their new Bell and she was now a new person, with no memories of who she really was, and now she is called under the name Tamayo Shirosaki.
Tid bit: Lena is also part of the CIA and worked with Adler before the events of the Dark Aether storyline happened.
Dimitri Volkov:
Dimitri is a KGB agent and a spy to Perseus. A skilled fighter who is also quite brutal in killing his targets. He worked at the CIA as Yuri Sidorov to keep his identity hidden, during his time in Japan, he met Kaoru in the building where it became her workplace as a programmer. After the incident happened in the abandoned building, he starts to have feelings for her as he begins to have a goal of protecting her at all costs and spends his time with Kaoru. When he needed to go back to the US, he tells Kaoru that he needs to leave Japan so he will go back to the land of the free and gets back to work in the CIA. When he arrives at the CIA office, the real intention he was part of the organization was to infiltrate and get info from the CIA to make their move. When he meets with Adler, Mason, Woods, and Hudson, the five talk about the Iranian Hostage Crisis and Arash Kadivar and Qasim Javadi. When Dimitri was alone in the room, he contacted Perseus but was interrupted by Mason, who starts to suspect him. He tries to tell him a lie to change the subject but Mason didn't budge, he went closer to him to remove his glasses but his hand was grabbed by Dimitri and the two began fighting with each other. When Woods, Adler, and Hudson check up on Mason and Dimitri, Woods helps Mason but he was shot by Dimitri and Adler hits his head by using a blunt object, knocking him unconscious. He woke up in an interrogation room where he was tied up in an electric chair, Hudson asked him who he was and his intentions, but being stubborn he was, he didn't listen as he was electrocuted several times. When Hudson shows the photo of Dimitri and Kaoru which he dropped while fighting Mason, he struggles to get out of the chair and gets electrocuted again. Fed up with his stubbornness, Adler told the three about MK Ultra, a type of experimentation program which is used by the CIA to interrogate a person by brainwashing them. He and Park then started the program with Dimitri as he is now Viktor Antonov. His memories about Kaoru, his affiliations with Perseus, and his job as a KGB agent are erased as tampered memories were now present in his mind until he meets Kaoru again and begins to remember everything.

S6 OUTRO SPOILER
Welp, there goes the thought that Perseus was also the one who manipulated Adler into placing those bombs.
Feel bad though that the game devs killed my guilty pleasure husband 😔 Guess his just too OP even for America's Monster himself, that's why they killed him off with cancer instead.
Also, I'm more curious as to why the screen faded to black when showing Stitch one last time before the shot was fired. Which is kind of familiar on how Bell's story ended in Solovetsky.
Makes me wonder why the game devs used the same concept on these two characters 🤔.
So I guess Bell and Stitch's status will remain a mystery to us all. Having the 50/50 chance of being dead/critically injured and barely living.

I realized my Bell’s fashion sense seems to be inspired by Arash’s and Volkov’s styles (sporty casual and business casual respectively)
I also just felt like drawing clothes 😌

What’s the most intricate headcanon you have for any character? (If it’s not someone in COD, feel free to answer this on another blog)
OOF this ask really made me sit back and go "what media do I even consume. What headcanons do I even have" HDJDHDJD in a good way of course!! I have a few for CoD and I wanna think of some for other fandoms, so I may reblog this to my main with an addition later on!! idk if it's really my MOST intricate and a lot of it is based in canon (sort of) BUT. I have some thoughts [:
Park and Adler first met because they were both brought on board the MK Ultra program because of their particular skillsets. Park of course was a guest from MI6- this part is mostly canon, as these are right from the wiki:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite the program officially being "shut down" in the early 70s, I'm entirely certain that the program was continued in utmost secrecy. So much so that only a handful of people knew about it, such as Agent Black, the man Hudson reports to throughout the Cold War campaign- I believe Hudson knew of the program but had to be briefed on its continuation when Adler and Park brought Bell onto the team.
And, as of the campaign, still only a handful know of what Bell has gone through and the truth of the MK Ultra program. Those are as follows: Adler, Park, Sims, Lazar, Hudson, Black, and ultimately- President fuckin Reagan himself.
That stems from the scene where he enters and addresses Adler, Hudson, Woods, and Mason about finding Perseus; he talks about "who do you think signed off on your last mission", and while it can be interpreted as being about the mission Adler, Mason, and Woods went on to hunt down Arash, Reagan makes a pointed look at Adler specifically when he finishes the statement- and sure, public speaking skills general dictate speaking to everyone in the room in that manner, Reagan is shady as fuck, as is what Adler and Park are doing with MK Ultra.
I also believe the president's statement was INTENDED to be interpreted only in the first way by the two people on the team who I'm SURE have no clue about what Bell has been through- Frank Woods and Alex Mason. ( @leevhs and I have talked about this a lot) Between how they treat Bell with generally a more lighthearted air than the closed off and at arm's length ways everyone else seems to, AND the fact that I am CERTAIN, with what Mason has been through, I think he and Woods would both be pretty livid about the whole ordeal. Mason's hands aren't clean for sure, but I don't think he'd wish the hell of brainwashing on anyone, even his perceived enemies. Especially since they essentially scraped out Bell's previous existence and puzzle-pieced it back together the way they wanted it. Mason would be sympathetic if not empathetic upon learning that Bell's been through that, whether Bell was in Perseus's close circle or not.
And thus, to protect the mission, they were kept out of it. And they probably don't know what happened to Bell after the truth ending- I also don't think they understand the full weight of Bell's betrayal in the lie and ambush endings either, just that Bell betrayed them flat out.
Just as an add-on to the above statement- Hudson is so uneasy about Bell not only because Bell is a potentially dangerous wild card placed in the center of a team of people he at least somewhat cares about, but also because he was the main advocate for Mason to LIVE past his brainwashing. Looking through emails and correspondence, a lot of the people around Mason thought he was a goner and completely out of his mind and either wanted to put a bullet in his head or let him do it himself (this includes, I believe, the higher ups within the govt that they report to). Hudson however was there to get Mason back on his feet, back to himself, and the two relied on one another for that sort of support. Therefore Hudson HATED the idea of Bell through and through. The danger, the potential for people he trusted to get fucked over, and the fact that he was endorsing exactly what Reznov did to Mason, if not worse.
Sorry that took me all day, I had to piece it together between customers and other things I was working on, but thank you so much for the question!!!

Legend | Perseus x Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: The name in this story is source of my imagination and it does not mention in COD: BOCW campaign
Bell shot Adler in head with no mercy. Something Perseus and I liked about her. She didn't hesitate. He kneeled down near Adler's body and he was telling Bell that Perseus was never a person, but organisation and Americans believe different. I still can remember what he said to her "So American."
When she ordered to launch the nuke, she smiled and looked at me with pride in her eyes, and then she furrowed them. I still don't know what have I done to her.
We came back at our safehouse in Russia and everyone greeted us; Naga, Stitch, Beck, Stone and Garcia. They all missed her. Why not, she is their best agent.
"Nice to see you too, Y/N." Stitch said while hugging me.
While they were talking about everything, he watched me packing my things from the safehouse.
"Why don't you stay with us? It could be like in old days, Y/N. It would be our pleasure to live with a living legend."
"I don't want to make you a mess. I just want to go home."
"What happened between us Y/N? You just left when Bell came in our team. Is there something between you two I should know?"
"No. I didn't left because of her. I left because I don't...feel I belong here anymore. That's why I left. I won't bother you anymore. I'll leave in 15 minutes."
"No one is forcing you to leave. Just tell me, why don't you call me by my name?"
"What name? Perseus isn't individua, it's organisation so I can't call you Perseus. They call you a monster and Baba Yega too. I don't know your name so I don't know how to call you at all. I can't call you comrade because we aren't anymore or a friend because we were never that close."
"What about love? Maybe you can call me love?"
"I wish you all the best in your plan. Goodbye Perseus and take care of yourself. Maybe you should retire and take care of your cancer." I picked up my things and left.
- 2 years later -
I heard the knock on my door and I opened the door. Stitch and Garcia were standing there. "Y/N he's not well. We don't think he will make it. Maybe you should see him." Stitch said while looking at me with his blue and white eyes.
I came back to safehouse and there he was laying on his bed. He recognised me but he couldn't talk as much as he wanted. Everyone left the room, and I stayed with him. He grabbed my hand and he tightened it. He tried to tell me something but he couldn't.
“Shhh, my dear. Don’t strain yourself, you need your energy for recovery.”
“You....know...that...I...won’t....last...long...Y/N...*heavy breathing* I...want you....to know...my name..and...it’s....Александр (Aleksandr/Alexander).”
“It suits you. You really are a protector of people. I’m sorry. I should have been here when you needed me the most. I should have stayed with the team. With you.”
“I...should..have...leave it...and...be with...you..*gasps for breath* I want...you...to...be...the new...leader.”
“No, Аlexander. Vikhor will be the new leader. He is more prepared than me. You know I can’t take it anymore, but at least let me be here with you.” his tear fell down his cheek and he tightened my hand again.
“I...love...you...from...the...day...*gasps* Arash...introduced....you...to us...”
“I love you, too. Now don’t strain yourself. Rest my love. I will be right here beside you.” before he closed his eyes he said his last words “Красивая лиса (beautiful fox)” Fox was my codename he has given to me.
My crying was loud and others heard that. They rushed in the room and saw him laying lifeless on the bed.
“Он оставил нас (He left us). *sobbing* Vikhor you will be the new leader. That's his wish. I want you to burry him in forest of Verdansk. Once that forest was the Eastern front but now was the most beautiful place you visited."
"Understood comrade. But I want you to choose that place." I nodded and all of them hugged, but there was one missing. It was Bell.
"Where's Bell? Where is she?"
"She disappeared. We couldn't find her. But don't worry about her. Let's honour him the way he deserves."
Next morning we buried him. After a while Stitch and I were standing alone by his grave. He hugged me.
"He was our hero Y/N."
"No, Vikhor. He is a legend. He protected our people. And his name really suited him."
"He was in love with you. He watched you from the day you came back to help us with that nuke. And when you left us again, he felt lonely. Most of his duties were on us."
"I killed him, didn't I? I killed him the day I left."
"Bell killed him. We saw her putting something in his food. When she saw us, she disappeared the next morning. It wasn't your fault. At least he sang a song everyday for you. For him you are the most beautiful woman and he bought you white ushanka. *he holds it in his hands* For him you are his living legend and let it stay that way Y/N. Don't disappoint him."
"I won't. I promise you Александр."
