reading western english language academic papers about hui ethnic minority for a project and shaking my head . some of u yts need to learn not to be racist towards han chinese ppl first before u start white savioring about saving ethnic minorities from china

#diary #hater tag #also like ok u are WORSE actually wrt infantalization. die #its not as bad with huizu bc ppl incorrectly assume we r han chinese lite tho #i saw one paper say huizu 'pride themselves on fully integrating into han society' like say uve never interacted with a huizu person who is #actually part of a hui community without saying it #huizu are such a diverse group. we r scattered all over china and culturally and linguistically diverse as well #my mom's community has mainly central asian roots. we r pretty linguistically sinicized but are strongly religious (the community is anyway #while other huizu communities may be less or much more religious and have roots from western asia #persia #etc #and that may also show up in their language #anyways there r good papers out there but westies are just #unable to completely undo their chauvanism when writing yk
