i don’t know how this got turned into a portwell fic as i was going for something with Ashlyn and Gina but then i wrote this instead. so this is dedicated to @maad-maxx @eristhykid @random-nerd-3 & @myworldisfictional

Once she had collected herself, she rejoined the end of the party.

She knew she should still be so happy for Carlos which she was but also very homesick.

Her mom.

Her mom, her whole world. She needed her. She missed living with her. Just the two of them

She went to bed that night first as Ashlyn was out for another hour. Ej had offered to drive her home, which she was thankful for.

She didn’t want to take Ashlyn away from the party. Her and big red deserved toe enjoy the rest of the party

“ Thank. You” She said as she buckled her seatbelt. She looked up at him and smiled

“ For what?” EJ asked

“ For genuinely caring. For asking me how im doing. No one has done that in a while. Well sure Ashlyn does sometimes but

She does it too much also which makes it seem fake, and um can I tell you a secret.” Gina said.

EJ as he starts the car, looks over at her with a concerned look. He wants to say yes to be a good friend. Though at the same time

Knowing something that Ashlyn didn’t know or any of the other friends felt wrong. But Gina needed a friend at the moment so of course he would be that for her.

“ Yeah, I’m listening” He said to her as they pulled out of the party venue.

“ Now please don’t tell anyone especially Ash. I need to tell her myself, which I will just in time. Probably tomorrow even but just.

Um EJ I’m leaving east high, Utah the state “ Gina said as she felt the tears forming. The last thing she wanted anyone to see was her crying.

“ Hey it is okay Gina, don’t cry, you will ruin your pretty makeup that looks really good on you” He said as he took one of her hands in his.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to, I just am torn. I feel so stupid to think that I actually might of had a chance with Ricky. It’s so obvious that him and NIni are like a forever couple.” She said as she squeezed his hand. It helped squeezing something when she was anxious which at the moment she was.

“ Don’y sweat over Ricky, he isn’t worth your tears. I’m sure you will find a guy 100x better than him in the future. Your Gina Porter after all. But I will miss you a lot. The best dancer Utah has ever had is leaving. “ He said as he pulled into her driveway.

She laughed. This was the first time besides any time with Ashlyn, where she had felt happy. She didn’t have to put her wall up and could be happy. She would miss this when she left in a few days. The people at east high had turned out to be the best people in the whole world. She didn’t know why she got so lucky to get them all as friends.

“ I’m sure the show will be the best plus now you have Nini back so I’m sure you will be fine without me” She said

“ no that is far from the truth, I hate saying this but Nini’s dancing skills are nothing compared to yours. Anyway I should let you go in as we have been talking for the past 10 minutes in Ashlyn’s driveway.” EJ said as he gave her one final squeeze before letting her go. He knew he’d see her in the following days but knowing she would be leaving hurt his soul. He had to keep it a secret even if he wanted to do a group text to everyone.

“ I’ll see you on Monday, thank you for being someone I could trust EJ. I truly appreciate it. “

As she left the car though she did something that stunned them both. She didn’t know if it was heat of the moment or if she actually meant to do this but she leaned in and gave him a kiss on the cheek. She then opened her door and walked into Ashlyns house, tired but content. She felt better than she had when she had called her mom. She needed to talk to EJ more in these coming three days. Thankfully she had his number so she wouldn’t have to wait till Monday. Maybe even Ashlyn and her could plan something fun to do. To conclude her time here in Utah.

As she got into bed, she thought to herself how she would miss it here, but thankful to have had the experience she had.

And with that she fell into a deep sleep.
